#How_to_design_an_ATS to automatically start and stop the generator ?
For #automatic_generator_start_and_stop, we require an #automatic_transfer_switch panel or an #automatic_changeover_switch.
This #ATS transfers power from your primary source to a backup source automatically, when it detects partial or total failure of the primary source.
When the main power system fails, the ATS invokes the backup source, which here is a #3_phase_generator, to run the electrical equipment until utility power is restored.
This ATS is also capable of #automatic_generator start and stop, in addition to transfer of power to the load automatically.
ATS must be properly designed and wired to the main and backup power sources correctly,
because it needs to communicate effectively with both power sources, before switching power to connect the equipment to the proper power source with a minimum delay period.

It will also definitely be a motivation for me, to continue this channel with good explanatory educational videos for all of you.
You can contribute by being a Sponsor of this channel using the following link, patreon.com/ElectroAcademy
I made this request few months ago, and now one Patron has come forward to help this channel.💪💪
I love it from the bottom of my heart.❤❤❤
I know, many have become patrons of entertainment channels mainly, but look forward to seeing some supporters who understand the value of an educational channel like this.
Your kind gesture will be most welcome..!❤👍
Thank you and Best regards.

Well irrustrated but schematic drawing will be very vital thanks
I am watching from Liberia, I am also excited about your explainaton
Thank you
You should show the schematic diagram so that the people can understand. Nobody can predict if the wiring you show will work without schematic i can not understand this but anyway thanks for your effort.
Thank you
Je vous donne courage
Thank you
Nice information
Thank you
Hi...please hurry up with the new sketch that includes the start - stop push button and the emergency button and a selection key with 3 position H-0-M (1-0-2)...It will be a complete sketch if you also include a switch key with 3-position (H-0-M) and also useful and also useful for manual operation.
can you please explain how and what to add to the circuit to protect components like the contactors coils from main power issues like surges or brownouts etc. ? many thanks for the great video
Can you provide this in the schematic diagram, please? That would be awesome and I am desperate about it.
Good information but you need to do this practically.
Basic setup is this.
Mainly I did this for the ones who are desperate to learn how generator is automatically starts using the ATS.
Very good explanation...but I want to introduce a selection key with 3 position H-0-M (1-0-2)...how should I introduced it in electrical conexion? Please make a sketch with it.
Switch for automatic and manual position selection, and the emergency stop button connections are not shown here because the video is going to be too long.
I'll make a short video soon, including all those connections.
@@ElectroAcademyEA Thank you very much...I will wait for it as soon as possible...
@@ElectroAcademyEAthanks for this detailed explanation. The switch for Automatic/Manual with the emergency button would be amazing... can't wait.. keep up the great work.
Hi sir we have a 400V 3 phase generator with ATS, the time delay when a power supply is off is 30-35 secs. Is that okay?
This video is good but must of the wiring is not visible because of the written explanation.
If you can manage without subtitles, you can remove it by clicking "cc" tab on the screen.
is it possible to do it more complex, in this way is to simple! :)
I know, it is some what complex and difficult to follow, because every thing has been included in a 15 minuet video.👀
Some areas, you need to pause the video or rewind it, to absorb the full explanation correctly.
This video is done after uploading a simple video previously on the same topic.
If you have not seen that video, you can go to the following link to watch it.

Thank you 🙂
Nice one, but please for my single Phase generator what do i do to the choke?
Thank you.
For single phase generator, please go to this link video, czcams.com/video/dTCX9dIZIUk/video.html&feature=share9
I will love to no more concerning ats
Thank you
💖💖💖✌️👌
Thank you
Would you please share the single line diagram sir? thankyou
for generator i think we need under voltage over voltage and phase failure relay
Generator itself has an AVR (Automatic voltage regulator) fitted on it.
This video change in udru language plz
Can you provide schematic diagram please
But I could not see the ellustration bc of the writings
You can remove these writings by simply clicking or touching the "CC" tab on the screen.
The use of two contact open and do ATS, is not safe, when the current is large contact head temperature is high, so that the contacts fuse and can not be separated, the other switch on, the circuit will be made to safety hidden advantage.
I encountered a situation is the motor from the Y connection to the delta hair, the above sexual condition, the result is the explosion of the switch.
When using magnetic contactors, you can introduce a safety relay to identify contact welding situations in it.
Video on Below link explains how to fix a safety relay to a circuit.
czcams.com/video/emp0T_kTsc4/video.html
But I have a question... if one of the contactors get stuck, wouldn't the auxiliary contacts also get stuck? Or not necessarily? I'm asking this because if the interlocking is done between both contactors through the auxiliary contacts... wouldn't this be considered a safety layer or is a safety relay still needed?
I need circuit b00k
Sir pls can stop showing this front write up
You can stop these subtitles appearing by clicking the "cc" tab on the screen.
I learn today thanks
Pls can’t u explain it in twi
the bad way to explain ! in electricity we use schematic diagram for wiring devices . relay ; contactor etc are not the same in all marc
