- The wild 1970s. A quest for higher consciousness, spirituality and sexual freedom. In
his Ashram in Poona, Bhagwan urges his disciples to meditate and practise tantric sex in order
to reach a higher level of consciousness. Hugh, the guru’s bodyguard, watches his ascent on
people. Sheela becomes his secretary and the powerful boss of Bhagwan’s community in the
mountains of Oregon. The guru, decried as ”sex-guru” by the Western media in the 1970s, is
now making headlines with his Rolls-Royces. The dream turns into a nightmare, for Hugh into a
mental breakdown, for Sheela into a prison sentence. Where did it all begin to go wrong?

It’s always the poor lost souls with a weak self identity that get sucked in to such cults.
What happened to the City ?
Empty & bankrupt by 1986, the Ranch was sold in 1988 then donated to Young Life in 1996. Ironically it became a Young Life Christian youth camp. Some original structures still stand, such as the massive Rajneesh Mandir meeting hall (turned into a gymnasium) and A-frame cabins on the hills.
@@mauriziomirone1467 I never implied that the Rajneeshees donated that piece of land.. their 'elite members' were in it for power & money, and not much else. Montana industrialist Dennis Washington is the one who gave it away.
@@letskillmusic There does not appear to have been any bankruptcy. The Ranch was sold for millions of dollars and so were the Rolls Royces. The accusations regarding Rajneesh were unfounded but in the end there was an agreement so that he could no longer return to the USA. And to be free he accepted one, the lightest one. But why did he spend several years in USA on an irregular visa? There is only one reason: with his presence he brought in many people and therefore millions of dollars. And in the USA there is one true God: the dollar.
We can go far and wide to find love and peace it's what we where created to achieve / long for .Jesus Christ is the one that gives it freely. Happy to see you come out of this I pray your latter years will be filled with all joys Jesus The Lord of Host is oir completiness in this life amd beyond.
