    I think they let a few errors go on beam because of her difficulty. For college her difficulty is higher than most others that get 10s. A front flip and double back on beam are VERY rare in college.

    She deserves this, not the unnecessary perfect score, she is not even looking at the scores. After all she went through, she is finally enjoying what she loves, and the right people are cheering for her now. She's a brilliant gymnast and she is having fun with it. I'm happy for her.

    Always liked Maggie and have commented before that some of her 10s may have been generous but after watching Athlete A on Netflix I have more respect from her than ever. USA gymnastics did her dirty and I'm happy for her that she had the NCAA career that she had. Deserves every single 10.

    • @ccaruso0404
      @ccaruso0404 Před 4 lety +9

      @D Leo I assumed it was due to her injury but there were things mentioned in the doc that no one probably knew. Steve Penny made it very clear she had no chance.

      @@ccaruso0404 both can be true (USAG being shitty to her, and her not deserving a spot) at the same time. I know she got injured at a training camp so I wouldn't be surprised if Marta pushed her too hard on purpose, but given her injury and difficulty level at the time of trials she didn't deserve a spot. I know people shit on Gabby for making it over her but Gabby's strongest event was bars which was Maggies weakest, if anything Laurie 'took' her spot.

    • @21StephieD
      @21StephieD Před 3 lety +6

      @@bethanymclean2136 if you watch Athlete A, you'll see that even with her injury Maggie still placed 6th all around at the Olympic trials to decide the team. She didn't even get an alternate spot. USAG did her dirty, at the least she earned an alternate spot.

    • @bethanymclean2136
      @bethanymclean2136 Před 3 lety +5

      @@21StephieD Yes I'm aware of that, and if USAG could've only sent one alternate it should've been Maggie. But they sent 3. Ashton didn't do the all around but outscored Maggie on bars, which is where they would've used her(Ashton) and Mykayla Skinner and Ragan Smith both beat Maggie in the AA. They definitely treated her poorly, I'm not denying that but unfortunately due to her injury a few months prior she wouldn't have contributed to that team.

    By passing out 10s to OU, the judges are doing a disservice to all the NCAA gymnasts, including the Sooners. Maggie is one of the best and her gymnastics can speak for itself. The inflated scores take away the focus from their amazing skills.

      @@Aelishaela This is so unbelievably false. They don’t give leeway, the scoring just sucks lmao, ESPECIALLY for OU. Also, both her and Kyla got a few 10’s in their freshman season. Beautiful! She is a wonderful athlete and Simone is too. We are lucky to see what they do. USAG can suck it....okay that was a bit much but ya the win at all costs thing is such bullshit when they did not protect athletes how they are supposed to. How can you demand someone's all and not care for the whole person. USAG should also sponsor counseling for athletes. Emotional health is a huge part of it. I would rather have healthy and happy athletes over a bazillion gold medals any day. I am proud of of our athletes. I am glad Simone Biles advocated for herself and other athletes. I admire her as a person as an athlete. She taught us all something!!
