We can finally get Dumbledore CALMLY asking Harry if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire
HARRYDIDJAPUTYOURNAMEINTHEGOBLETOFFIRE
Blame the director not Gambon... There's no way Gambon would've done that without the director asking for it.
Nothing more nerdy than that sentence
Benedict Jones Except Gambon didn't do any research for his role. He literally didn't read the books the movies were based on. I mean they're children's books, how hard can it be to read a couple of books for a role you get paid millions of dollars for?
@@kikkomaki5385 Agree that he should of read the books but at the same time there would have been at least a hundred people on set, if they didn't want him to shout it, they would've asked him to re-shoot it... as you say he was being paid lots for the role so he would've had to reshoot it.
(Narrator in regards to Adam Driver as Snape) *"Yes, he's a bit young."*
Dude, you know Snape is only 31 in the the first book, right? They cast *ALL* the Marauder Era students way too old. The fact they're young is part of the tragedy.
So that means James Potter was ~20 when he died? Not that I know but that seems off doesn't it?
Alard Tech Yes, James and lily were supposed to be in their early twenties when they died. Thatâs why it was so sad, they were supposed to be so young
@Norma Jinete Wow I had no idea they were so young. It's been years since I read the books so maybe this calls for a reread! I do have to say though, it would have been a little odd to have the parents be cast as being in their early twenties in the movies. I think the older actors drilled home the parent/mentor image.
My thoughts exactly! This would be correcting the ages actually
comment i've been looking for
Snape is SUPPOSED to be on the younger side ! In the books, heâs barely into his 30âs by the first book. Adam Driver is a phenomenal choice.
Y e s. People seem to forget the fact that Severus is supposed to be young and heartbroken. Still foolish. As much as I absolutely loved Alan Rickman (who I still miss so much) if we ever saw a remake, I'd absolutely want it to be Adam Driver.
Yessss! Lily James, Lupin, Sirius, Snape, Wormtail... they're all supposed to be on the younger side. I enjoyed the actors in the movies but the casting always frustrated me
i think the main problem here is that olivia colman is like, 10 years older than adam driver... which makes her a bit unlikely even as as an older sibling of lily who is the same year as snape
Adam Driver is already 37.
Yayyyy brought it to 300 likes!
oh my god itâs happening, everyone stay calm

I think everyone from the Mauraders age has to be more younger looking then in the film. The whole point of their story was that they died to young.
Trisha Reddy i agree:(
@IamVeryFrozen James Potter died at 21, it would be cool if they really took some young actors to let the tragedy sink in
Right, which means a young Snape is also a good plan.
they should cast daniel radcliffe for the role of james potter
Amelia Jones i think the point of snape is that he DID outlive everyone. The cost of that, also ages him. (I also think adam driver can pull that off at his age)
Time to relook into this with HBO recreating it. For Dumbledore, it's Jared Harris for me. I don't care he's younger, him playing his fathers original role would be just legendary. He has that unique calming voice too.
Andrew Scott would be amazing as Quirrell. All anxious and stuttering, until the finale where he kind of takes on a similar persona and body language to what he brought to Sherlock as Moriarty. Super threatening, while almost humorous in his carefree attitude.
Adam Driver is actually the right age, Snape was only in his thirties.
When I first saw Adam watching Star Wars thatâs the first thing came to my mind he would make a good snape not because of the nose and all but the whole body structure screamed out a young Snape

Totally agree with the choice for Quirrell, Andrew Scott would be perfect
Severs Snape is actually quite young in the beginning of the story. He was around 20 when Harry was born, so 11 years later he is only in his early 30s, so Adam Diver is actually even a little bit old for the role if we want to be picky, but he looks actually perfectly aged for the character.
And his face and acting is just PERFECT for Snape!
I agree; the scenes when Snape gets into fights with Sirius, reminds him of how useless he is in OOTP and other examples of the maruaders' and his own more immature behavior, Snape's overall pleasure in taunting Neville and other students and his obvious favoritism of the Slytherins, and hatred of Gryffindor house, such as when he refereed Quidditch in the PS were pure jems and could be portrayed better with a younger actor. Alan Rickman was awesome of course, I just think this would bring out Snape's other side more accurately and it would be interesting and even fun to see.
I think they should have an accent trainer if they're using an American actor though, Snape with an American accent just seems wrong to me.
@@inanemme5603 I think this could be no problem for Adam Driver! I remember him with different accent! In blackkklasman he speak really different from Star Wars for exemple. I'm not American so I couldn't recognize the accent but I can tell it was very different and fitted the role perfectly!
if the show were to be instantly made and released tomorrow, and take 7 years to finish, Adam Driver would be 5 years older than Snape at time of death
@@BobTheTesaurus realistically, Adam driver would be around 10 years older than Snape, if a series gets made. It's not that difficult for an actor to play someone 10 years younger. And it would be an improvement from Alan Rickman who was in his 50s.
He would HAVE to master that accent though!
Maggie Smith could return as Mcgonagall, since Iâm fairly sure she canât die.

Adam Driver is probably my favorite actor ever and he really is perfect for it. The face, the voice (minus the accent), the hair (omg), and his acting skills are just so on point for Snape. Btw, I totally agree that Adam Driver as Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was the best thing to come out of the sequel trilogy, just saying. Also, I saw someone say that Tom Felton is right around the perfect age to play Lucious Malfoy. I totally agree. I would love to see that. Someone else also mentioned Emma Watson as Trelawney. Snape is supposed to be in his early 30s at the beginning of Philosopherâs Stone, and Adam Driver is 36, so it works.
As much i love Andrew Scott and wish that he could be "cast" in a bigger roll i think u hit it right on the money with the fact hed be an amazing quirell.
To everyone who is complaining about Adam Driver being an American, I say this:
We have two Brits currently playing Superman and Spider-Man.
its mostly for accent purposes. it would make sense that the series would have a British accent rather than an American one. The accent in the movies seems like a detail but it is as important as the writing or actor's delivery. It adds layers of depth and ambiance to the general atmosphere and feeling of immersion of a story. So If the actor is American but has a nice Oxford accent that would also be valid. (I'm not British btw).
Yeah, but Americans are generally worse at accents lol
I cannot comprehend the mandate that 'the entire cast has to be British'. People, it's called *acting*. If the actor can master the accent, that's all that matters. The wrong nationality can be good, or can be bad (e.g. Sophie Turner's American accent as Jean Grey).
Colleen Hysell Spot on. Itâs like the people that cry about gay roles going to straight actors. Grow tf up
@@bangchanswebbrowsinghistor5145 I agree that having uniform accents is important. I was bugged in the Star Wars sequels that most of the characters had American accents (including Finn, even though John Boyega is British), except for Rey, inexplicably. Why was she allowed to sound posh and British, but Boyega had to pretend he's American? Was it because Rey was a thinly-veiled copy of Bastila Shan? We'll never know I guess.
But it also bugged me about Kingdom Come Deliverance. The accents are totally randomized there.
That said, Adam Driver is pretty good at accents. I've heard him do Southern, Texan and English, and he's solid in all of them. So I think he can pull it off. My first reaction to seeing him as Kylo Ren without the mask was "THAT'S SNAPE WTF". He even has the same dry sense of humor as Snape. So I can totally see it.
Snape is 31 in Philosopher's Stone, and Harry's parents are only 21 when they die. Adam Driver only seems "a little young" because the movies portrayed their characters as waaay too old.
Yeah, he's 36 now, that's even older than the character, he'd do well
I loved alan rickman as snape but I was always confused because he was like 40 or something
@@ssssSTopmotion he was 55 in the first film
Osman Yousif Yes! Alan rickman was to charming to be Snape! He should be more hateful
@@sevde9832 Then Adam Driver would be perfect age wise as Snape since he;s younger than Rickman, I do miss Rickman.
Ive always felt Stephen Fry should play Dumbledore, I mean he has the voice, the physical presence and even the crooked nose.
Or Nick Frost, either 1 there would always be an đŹ Actor to portray the Character
I want whoever is cast as Dumbledore to be a delightful quirky wizard, as he is in the books. He needs to look like Merlin, not like a reprobate who lives under a bridge. I was appalled when Gambon's had dirty fingernails, that stupid string cinching his beard, his dirty-looking costume (plants could sprout from the hem), and obviously was oblivious as to HOW Dumbledore should be...his rage-y attacking Harry about the Goblet of Fire, just about everything he did was wrong. I want the new Dumbledore to be magical and more like Chris Columbus' and JKR's ideas of him... a classic wizard.
And all the Marauders-era characters are in their 30s when Harry gets to Hogwarts. They shouldn't be played by "old guys'.
You're right! Simon Pegg would be a hoot as Peeves.
Plus he's gay.
NO. NO. NO. TOTALLY THE WRONG CHOICE. AND I AM A FAN OF MR. FRY.
BUT NOT AS DUMBLEDORE.
To be fair Adam Driver as Snape is kind of brilliant
How funny would it be to have Emma Watson do a cameo as Trelawney.

Do you mean you think Harry should have Lily's eyes in a jar?
@@zingzangspillip1
Ha ha. That seems more like something up Snape's alley:)
But seriously, it's mentioned over and over again but their eyes aren't even the same color in the films.
this was a big deal for me, in the books they mention it ALL the time, and they were supposed to be green, they even mention it on the movies, while the actress of Lily had BROWN eyes and Daniel had BLUE eyes, AAAAAAAAA
They did try. Daniel Radcliffe couldn't wear contacts without having a terrible reaction. Not sure why they cast young Lily as a brown-eyed girl.
Nothing will change the way we grew up with the characters in Harry Potter, they and the movies will always be brilliant! I, for one, would love to see a Harry Potter series and I think the actors you casted would be fantastic!
It may not be apparent to those outside the UK but Michael Caine doesnât have the right accent to be Dumbledore. Caine has a very strong cockney accent, Dumbledoreâs accent should be more Received Pronunciation (RP); better suited actors that come to mind are Ian McKellen or Patrick Stewart.
I would love for Ian McKellan to play him
As an American I can only detect the really obvious British accents yet I noticed in that Batman scene his accent was rather cockney not as regal sounding as I imagine Dumbledore having. I agree. And as someone else pointed out, heâs 87, he really couldnât commit to a decade of films. As much as Iâd love to see an Ian McKellan or Patrick Stewart, theyâd really need someone more in their 50s or 60s with the stamina to do a long running series.
Do you know what acting is?
@@ssssSTopmotion of course but I donât think you realise that not all actors are good at accents. Samuel L Jackson always sounds like Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine always sounds like Michael Caine.
Where exactly does it say in the books what Dumbledoreâs accent is?

yeah true, if snape had been younger then they would've had to cast the marauders so old either lol
If they did a tv series, I think JK Rowling would need to step away from the project. It needs to only rely on the books and previous movies. Nothing should feel like the Cursed Child or anything found on Twitter as âcanonâ because if it was canon it wouldâve been in the books.
Not the movies, please. We can leave those in the past where they belong.
And we could restore McGonagall's actual age if we based her on the books and not the films. According to the books she's only middle-aged. Nothing against Maggie Smith's portrayal, but technically she was too old to play McGonagall.
It needs to completely rely on the books.
Back in the day, JK made sure the films stayed true to the books and that all the actors were British. It makes me so fucking sad that we canât trust her with that sort of thing anymore.
They'd 100% hire her to create a leftist dreamscape with no anchoring in the original material. đ

The ONLY person who should be brought over from the original series...is maestro John Williams. Just let him score THE ENTIRE thing this time. He completely nailed the "sound" of the wizarding world and I honestly can't imagine the world without his music.
Yeah definitely, though I wouldn't be too mad if James Newton Howard did it, because the music he composed for Fantastic Beasts really captured the magic and wonder of the wizarding world
Cyclonado Thunderclaw maybe both? Just PLEASE donât let Alexandre Desplat go near them again. I love Alexandreâs work, but his style didnât really fit the wizarding world.

@@WreckNRepeat I actually think her charm would add to Umbridge - have you seen Colman in Fleabag? I want a Harry Potter tv series that combines the feeling of childish wonder of the first two movies, and cinematography of the third. And also to stay more loyal to the characterizations described in the books, and to include all the necessary subplots. Tom Riddle's childhood, for an example, was completely removed from the 6th film, which in turn removed an extremely important element of the whole series. They clung onto lazy tropes just and made Voldemort into just another baddie in favour of whoosh whoosh bang bang CGI effects.

no, Jack Black AS Hermione
When I saw the tag line I thought it was a real show coming! Loved the video, can't wait to see more!
I really enjoy this video and great cast for this :) Thank you for this wonderful pov video.
"Ello, oi'm Dumbledor nice ta meet ya Mista Arry Po'ah."
Omg thank you so much for your comment, I just let out the most undignified laugh.
Nicholas Cage as everyone.
SnezyMcPanda đ
Now I won't agree to anything else.
Nicolas Cage as Lupin
lmao xD
I love Nicolas Cage, he needs a good role đ
I absolutely clicked on this because I saw your Driver-Snape, and I absolutely agree. I've been picturing him as a younger Snape since The Force Awakens. Honestly the character should only be about 31 in the first book anyway, so his youth is absolutely not a problem. All your other picks that I recognize were great as well (though I didn't recognize the Dursley picks personally).
At first i didn't want a tv series. I was baffled you made this video! Then I watched it and you nailed the casting. All I want is this TV show!!
Andrew Scott as Quirrell would be more terrifying than Fiennes as Voldemort. His 'Jim' from Sherlock would scare The Master from Doctor Who.
I don't know about that....you should see the new Master from series 12. The guy playing him is really good.
@@jordentaylor2455 The switch is so intense imo. I love it.
@@jordentaylor2455 "Spy........MASTER."
DID YOU MISS ME
DID YOU MISS ME
DID YOU MISS ME
DID YOU MISS ME
Hiiiiiii. Tbh I think Moriati and the Master would get on well and take over the world. Evil duo
I'm really sad Alan Rickman is no longer with us. R.i.p to this legend
So many actors I love! Great video
Well, every one of these works for me, so good job!
Actually, Driver is the perfect age for the role: Harry's parents died when they were about 20 years old. Harry goes to school 10 years later. Snape would be 30-something. Adam is 36. He's actually perfect
omg he was so young O:
Yoooooo he's smashed these choices honestly, this is getting me hyped for a series that doesn't exist yet.
Saame
Don't Know Drew sorry to burst ur bubble but they wont do this.
Tox Tricity Pessimism isnât realism
Brolik dont think i dont want it to happen its just like i dont think thats logical.
Damn, you really nailed it. I'm impressed.
Steven fry as hagrid.. i would love it! Just a thought.
David tennant as snape.
Brian cox as dimbledore.
Just my thoughts đ
I think Benedict Cumberbatch would be perfect for Voldemort.
OMG YES! đđ
yeeeees
Moriarty with Sherlock on his bald head? Iâd watch it
You got me thinking about his eerie performance in The Hobbit. I'd definitely believe Cumberbatch wanted to kill Harry dead.
Why not Snape? He could be as good as Voldemort, maybe even better, it would be like a combination of Turing and that one he played in Star Track movie.
No no no Adam Driver is not too young! Harryâs parents died a year after they left hogwarts, Adam driver is the perfect age! Thatâs why petunia should be younger and so should all the others in the same year as Harryâs parents :D
No they actually died when they were 21, a couple of years after they left Hogwarts.
But that is still really young, so yeah Adam Driver is not to young. Because Snape would be 31 in the first film. đ
They left school at 18. Died at 21. So it was 3 years.
Actually, Adam Drive is even too old. He's almost 37 (and he looks older!) and Snape is 31 in the first book.
Naurore25. Rickman was 55 in the first movie. But with a little make up he looked mid 40âs. They could easily age driver down.
Mana Ch Yup, but I guess the actors fit way to well for the roles that JK had to use them
Just imagine how amazing a new series would be, with all the special effects that are possible now. Iâd be so excited!!
outstanding selection
Rowan Atkinson: Nearly Headless Nick
Hugh Laurie: Peeves
Stephen Fry: Ludo Bagman
Okay, gotta say: That last one is great. But isn't it even the case that Stephen Fry was originally intended to play a role in the films? Possibly even that of Ludo Bagman?
Fry should play Dursley!
Somebody has watched Blackadder recently đ but I do agree with you for Fry and Laurie, not sure about Atkinson tho
I see a cunning plan forming here! Tony Robinson as Mundungus Fletcher!
David Vayne bit old but worth it
I think Gary Oldman would make an incredible Dumbledore - he has the kind twinkly eyes described in the book but also you would not f*ck with him!
OOOHHHHHH!!!!! I LIKE this!!!
I think he killed it as Sirius. Sirius is meant to be a different kind of Dumbledore. The kind that relates to Harry more. He's like Dumbledore but less Headmaster. More well _cool_
Yeah but the temper...
"Sir, dementors are coming..."
"Bring...
...EVVVRYONNNNE!"
exactly!!
Too distracting. He just couldnât be anyone except Sirius to anyone who saw the original movies. Multiple times.
David Bradley, based on his performance as Argus Filch in the original movies, seems BORN to play Ebenezer Scrooge in âA Christmas Carolâ if he ever gets the chance! đ
Iâm actually blown away by your choices⊠I was expecting to disagree but⊠great suggestions that I can see really working! I think your choices are right on the money!
Adam Driver isnât âtoo youngâ, heâs actually too old, but perfect casting.
too old? Alan Rickman was in his 60s playing a 30s something character so I don't think driver too old
@@dorinachan113 ya but Snape is actually in his 30s in the book
@@dorinachan113 they mean if we're talking canon in the series. Alan Rickman was also too old. snape was only 31 at the start of the series.
@@roseofthegarden_ Well he looks pretty young
@@jmlarker9352 Why? (Besides the accent hehe)
Me: No, I don't care who he says for Snape. Alan Rickman was perfect and I'd rather they use freaky de-aging software than cast anyone else.
Bryan: Adam Driver
Me: Oh my goodness! That's freaking perfect. Dang it! I want to see him play Snape.
Alan Rickman is DEAD. He was also too old in the original movies anyway. He's meant to be early 30's.
I mean they could be related anyways with those hairdos XD
I'm pretty sure @jim Chabai didn't read the whole comment anyway.
The first time I saw adam driver in scene my poor brain melted a bit trying to figure out how alan rickman looked younger and was in a movie even though he is dead lol
adam driver would KILL as snape!! i think heâd give such a great performance and show the layars that snape has
Love this take and you've got a new subscriber now. Keep up the good work đ
I actually loved this!
My attitude at first was: "Remake 'Harry Potter'? - Meh, too soon." Then right out of the gate you suggest Michael Caine as Dumbledore. SOLD.
I would hear that Cockney accent every time he opens his mouth.
Maybe but Michael as regular Dumbledore and the rest of the cast can be muppets and yes muppet Voldermort too.
@@kimhirschman1735 Haha, true....or the Aussie voice at the end of 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'...which is a variation of Cockney, I guess?
I can really see Nick Frost as Hagrid!
âNo luck catching them basilisks then?â
âItâs just the one basilisk, actually.â
Oh my God I just spat đđđ
I love it!!!
đ đ đ
This might be my favourite comment ever
