Although Tarja is excellent with her songs, I felt with this song, that it suits Anette a bit better for some reason, Anette brings a special something with her smooth voice, also I noticed they fixed the melody a bit, before it was still a bit raw and not fully produced well in the studio.

I've never said that Anette isn't able to sing high notes, see. But in the original version, Tarja sang it with opera. So she needs them to sing with her instead of operatic element that she can't do. One more thing, when Tarja sang it, you can see the high notes in opera are not normal, it's very hard for Anette ( 'Cause her voice has a little pop) Look at the "Ghost love score" Hartwall Arena, 19.09.09 by Anette, it's a very evidence
+paul michel yes, I really think Cover Me really suites Anette's voice too, she brings her own special emotion and sweet voice into it. She has a very lovely voice that other Nightwish Fans tend to put down and not appreciate, just because it doesn't go as Opera as Floor or Tarja's voice. She is not a worse singer just because she cannot sing Opera. She sings marvellously in her range and if you hear the songs she did with other bands/other projects, you will see so much beauty in her voice! (Follow Me - with Pain, October & April - with the Rasmus and other bands too)
Anette sings many Tarja's songs well, despite Anette-haters claiming otherwise. I like her Walking in the Air, Dark Chest of Wonders, Planet Hell, The Siren, Sleeping Sun and Nemo - maybe not better than Tarja, but she sings them good. With Ever Dream Anette has two styles, when she sings it soft and relaxed, it's a good song by Anette (ballads usually are very good for her), there's a video of Colmar concert where she sings it just as beautifully as in her studio demo tape.
PCH 333, Floor tried an operatic approach to Stargazers in Wembley... but that didn't go so well. Se usually sings the old Tarja era songs in contemporary soft pop style, visiting her classical voice only very briefly if at all. Anette sings some of old Tarja's songs, but all of them in contemporary style. It doesn't flatter Floor they decided to make her sing some of them: "Wishmaster," "Deep Silent Complete," "10th man Down," before mentioned "Stargazers".. even Floor's fans don't ask reactions to those songs. And the less operatic but still songs where Tarja used classical voice, like "The Siren," "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Nemo" aren't good for Floor either.
I follow Nightwish from my Middle School's years, now I'm 23 so do the math. I just want to say that this is not ones of Anette's best performances and also the reconding is not great but is still better of SOME of Tarja's, just remember "Come Coviiiiir meeee" and hers articulation problems. Waiting for the Tarjaholics to hunt me down.
I think Anette was sick during that concert, it was at the end of the european tour. Too bad it's one of the rare pro shot we have of her in Nightwish.

Maybe original Tarja's voice, dark and melancholic, matches more with the song, but Anette with Marco's help in refren is a good version, too. I would like a remaster in this song with Anette and Marco duet like other official duets from them, such as Bye Bye Beautiful, 7 Days to the Wolves, The Crow, The Owl and the Dove etc.
Anyone know which venue this was recorded for? Wouldn't mind seeing the whole concert if it's available. It's so hard to find high quality recordings of Anette..she's fantastic.
Sounds like a song called "Time of Silence" by another Finnish band called HB. Johanna of HB sounds so much like Anette. Back to Nighwish, not that I'm a fan of theirs, but I think Anette was their best singer. And all this bashing I read about Anette. Why? She was with them for years. Obviously, she was doing something right.
Randy Kirby HB sounds a bit like Nightwish in general. Though they are good their own way, I'd say they kinda copied Nightwish's style to make their own gospel stuff.

I like Anette's era with Nw, I really do but this (and almost every song wrote for Tarja's voice) just sounds like a bad cover by an amateur band, And with Floor it's just worse. At least Anette sang with feeling.

Though, I don't agree Floor should sing in classical style. Floor sings them Nightwish classical era songs contemporary style, and there's a good reason for it: Floor doesn't have much classical experience, and she doesn't deliver it well. Classical doesn't sound good from her. She tries partly classical approach in Stargazer in Wembely, but the Tampere version is better, where she sings it just contemporary style.

Definitely lower level than the previous singer. I really miss her. The voice of the new one is maybe nice, but nightwish were my beloved because of the opera vocal. I really miss that times(

In fact Montreux is one of her worst concerts (voice loss, again), "Slow Love Slow" is a smokey song and she sings it well, but not much else. I have no hate for Anette at all. She did a good job when she was with Nightwish and I love both of her albums she did with them, but she just can't hit the sweet spot with me with the older songs. It's not a terrible version but I just can't get into it. Please don't think this is hate. Just how I feel. ❤️
Guess ya had a heart attack when they announced Floor as the new singer a week ago eh? I did too. I ain't too fond of Floor for NW. I love her in her own bands but she seems like she would be too loud and rough for NW.
I don't understand why they took in the set list! It sounds horrible. Not that I don't like Anette and her voice but it doesn't fit her and sounds not great if it isn't sung that high. Even Marco can't change that fact!

Agree. But I'd prefer to listen Floor singing Tarja's era songs than Anette...I look forward to listen to their upcoming material, Floor's such a great vocalist with many skills. However the magic and power they used to have in their first albums will never be again among us.
