This show was bizarre, wacky, stylized beautifully, well written, well acted, and clearly, never got past its pilot episode. Really too bad, I loved it.
Cheers for posting. Whether or not Mignola would have continued this for Syfy or whether it was simply Syfy not picking up the series after the pilot [a loss either way; it's fantastic], my main reaction at the end of the day is: "Damn. Why couldn't they make the animated 'Hellboy' look like this?" This is one awesome show. Pity this is all there will [probably] ever be.
Oh my gosh. I never loved a pilot soo much. Emperor Zombie was hilarious, I wasn't sure who I was rooting for! (Head of course). And of all the ways to make Lincoln more awesome than being the king of Mars or a vampire slayer. This needs to continue.
Holyfrag!! Where has this show been all my life?! Its awesome!! Steampunk, vampires, werewolves and elegant zombies. Love the animation style!! Nice to see some Count Ferigno from the comic managed to find a second job, lol! Wonder if we'll see a Hellboy cameo.
I see the Arsenic and Old Lace ladies have upgraded their Cary Grant to a King Monkey. Awesome. This is completely perfect for Adult Swim, and is at least on par with The Venture Brothers. Amazing guys.
Hm.. was googling pictures of faust, and that led me to a strange picture that looked like an animation cell, the shading was so interesting to me that I looked up what it was. Strange but interesting. Seems Halloween appropriate.
So, a show where Paul Giamotti voices a robot head who takes his orders from Abraham Lincoln and fights Emperor Zombie (voiced by David Hyde Pierce), written by, and in the art style of, Mike Mignola, and it WASN'T PICKED UP?! Damnit, Hollywood, you don't know what you're doing!
it is stunning, its beautiful and interesting, it is different and bold it uses light and coloring like no animated film I have ever seen, if you thik this isnt stunning you are out of your mind

Emperor Zombie honestly stole the spotlight in this pilot. God how I wish this got made into a series.
epic name by the way
That serious grotesque face with that upbeat and friendly voice and tone is such a great combination.
Mike Mignola is the MAN!!! Truly an amazing piece of work.
watching this and Korgoth of Barbaria on the same day just depressed the hell out of me.
Same.
If only they had made a hellboy TV series like this. It would have been fun as hell (pun not intended) to watch.
Cheers for posting.

Abraham Lincoln will forever be King of Mars in my book
I love how the communicator usses a flipper board to simulate lip movements.
Holyfrag!!

"She's not a spy! She's...a GODDAMN WEREWOLF"

Some of the dopest animation EVER!

"Somewhere nice, 187 years ago."
Lordy this thing is sick from start to finish. BRAVO!
Why on EARTH did this never get picked up. Amazing.
This is excellent work. I very much enjoyed it. Thank you very much!
I remember staying up late to watch this pilot. It was so good. Damn you Syfyyyyyy!
A good balance of weird and seriousness.
I like it.
Great animation.
I can't believe this was never made into a animated series!
It's official, Emperor Zombie is now my favorite super villain!
This is hilarious!!!! And Awesome!!!!
Beautiful art style.
This looks awesome
Good word! This is wonderful!
This should have gotten a spot with "Mine now." That was epic, or whatever the kids are saying these day.
So good!
I didn't even know there were plans for an animated version. A friend of mine showed me the comic years ago and it was exactly my kind of crazy.
That's plain amazing
this is pretty cool i knew straight away it was B.P.R.D. style mike mignola artwork he's a legend!!! great toon!
I see the Arsenic and Old Lace ladies have upgraded their Cary Grant to a King Monkey. Awesome. This is completely perfect for Adult Swim, and is at least on par with The Venture Brothers. Amazing guys.
was such a great moive.
This is right up there with Korgoth the Barbarian as one of the best shows that never was :/
has a feel of venture bros. to it
I really need tutorial on how to draw in this art style O.o
Its incredibky easy i do it since my teens. You gotta draw square forms, and bold dark and white contrasts with no grey.
also you first draw on pencil then ink it never do just inks.
They aired this shit at like 2 in the morning to make sure no one saw it, presumably, but I remember staying up and watchign it.
Fuck everything.
how did this not become a tv show!!
What the hell? This is fantastic.
It looks like Hellboy because it's based off a book done by the guy that did Hellboy, and it was years ahead of Archer.
I couldn't agree more.
This is a pretty good show.
This look cool as hell
It's David Hyde Pierce, more well-known as Niles in Frasier.
some tv station somewhere, please pick this up, it would be an amazing benefit.
Genius!
Looks like "Hellboy" had a baby with "Archer".
this is quite hilarious
This would have been the best show ever!
WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE
I now want to find the full DVD and the trade paperback. They're probably at a second hand bookstore somewhere.
"You know something I don't know." Hilariously clever.
Yes, thank you! I couldn't believe that didn't get through.
Just watching 2 mins of this and I'm already thinking: "wtf this show is ridiculous......and awesome."
It's a shame they didn't make the series. David Hyde Pierce has the perfect funny villain voice.
lol at the end
"haha. There's actually a little joke in here. Gung was funny!"
Kickstarter this shit asap
damn this is good
Holy cow, Mike Mignola is awesome!
Yup. Those two and The Modifyers.
Damn! Pierce and Giamatti are awesome!
Mr. Groin, I'll be needing a body for this!
Hm.. was googling pictures of faust, and that led me to a strange picture that looked like an animation cell, the shading was so interesting to me that I looked up what it was. Strange but interesting. Seems Halloween appropriate.
this awesome has some WTF moments but it's still awesome.
syfy is only wwe now, needed to go to adult swim they would of eaten this up like candy...god knows they need it.
This seems like it would be part of the axe cop universe
I'm so sad this didn't turn into a series that it hurts.
I'm... so confused... but points for creativity? XD
Wait, wait...
HE SMOKED THE GUY?!
WHY HAVENT I HEARD OF THIS BEFORE?
MY LIFE HAS BEEN INCOMPLETE!
This is sort of like a spoof version of Van Hellsing and Hellboy
And David Hyde Pierce was friggn' hilarious
so like... i am so confused in the first minute of this lol
This reminds me of the Hell Boy comic art style.
That intro alone was just fricking sweet/
Same guy who makes the Hellboy comics made this(well, the comic this is based on).
I rember seeing this somewhere
WHY DID THIS NOT GET PICKED UP!
It's David Hyde Pierce. You might remember him as the brother in 'Frasier'. He also did the voice acting for Abe Sapien in the first Hellboy movie.
I've known about this episode for four years, but I JUST found out that Mr. Groin is voiced by my favorite comedian: PATTON OSWALT!!!!!
It's the BONG OF DOOOOOM!!!!!
It's a magic voodoo demon dirigible.
2:00 best opening for a cartoon ever.
Emperor Zombie is my favorite character from this show.
0:34
I LOVE how the wanted poster says *Espionage*Treason*Lycanthropy* and their response is "Step away from her, she's a spy!"
Huh, thats a pretty good point.
5:00 sounds like a Public Service Announcement lol
@rastafury17 The similarity you're looking for is called "Umbrella Academy" wich BTW is an awesome comic
yes, Mike Mignola
I'm not familiar with the original comic but oh God I need to read it. I'm sorry but how was this _not_ picked up? Maybe one day...
5:02-5:08
FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS IT!!!
No smart guy corpse, no smart guy zombie later.
Screw-On Head for President!!!!!
"Emperor Zombie, you're a FIEND!" :)

THATS SILLY!
why does this look INCREDIBLY EXTREMELY like the Hellboy Comics?
it is stunning, its beautiful and interesting, it is different and bold
it uses light and coloring like no animated film I have ever seen, if you thik this isnt stunning you are out of your mind

"HUDDA HUDDA HUDDA!" *FWOOSH!*
This show rules! What were the executives at SciFi thinking when they turned this down?!
Will somebody make this into a series already???
So epic why didn't this become a show
Royalty Free Ukulele It was way to expensive to produce. And a bit difficult to animate due to Mike's art style.
Reminds me of spawn animated series. And the Hellboy short films of course
The animated movies were NOT short. They were nearly 80 minutes long.
Well, I like animated Hellboy, but surely this is a lot better.
I miss the screw on head
Mine now...LOL
Woot! David Hyde Pierce!
Yay! Adamwestslapdog!!
WHY DID THIS NOT GET PICKED UP?
