Dealing with a narcissist means you're on your own in many ways, people aren't able to appreciate the complexity & dynamics at play when they hear your story. Breaking it down to what it is can be difficult to navigate! Awesome topic Maria❤
Dealing with a narcissistic relationship can be very challenging, but it is not our job to be their therapist or life coach to fix them. All we can do is focus on being ourselves and setting boundaries.
People pleasing/making yourself as a secondary character to your own story by playing a role in someone else's story is disrespectful and self abusing to yourself by silencing your authentic self. Leave uncaring people who do NOT see or interested in YOU.
I appreciate how real Dr. Ramani is. She doesn't fuck around with words or information.
I love you Dr. Ramani for helping me live a life after "hijacking my soul by my Narc mother.
You make it possible. Thank you.💞
Two of my favorite people, role models - as mother is gone.
Dr. Ramani is truly the best on this topic. Thank you for having her on. I agree, there is overuse of the word "narcissist" (especially since 45). But personally, I feel it's better for the zeitgeist pendulum to swing in that direction than for people to be dangerously unaware of this personality disorder.
That’s exactly why it’s happening this way.
Thank you Maria for being another great platform for Dr Ramani. I absolutely love the work that she has done in the field of narcissism. She is the expert on this topic., and can explain the subject in a clear and understandable manner.
Thank you for the work that you do on so many fronts. You are both examples of being an architect of change.
Maria you have an excellent, expert here with keen wisdom on narcissism. Thank you for having this conversation of knowledge to share with your listeners.
Terminating the relationship with a narcissist, especially a family member, is a decision one likely wrestles with for a lifetime. That said, wrestling within one’s head is grace compared to actually dealing with the narcissistic, for it’s manageable and bestows the ability to move forward.
I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THE SCANT ATTENTION PAID TO NARCISSISTIC SIBLINGS!!
Where is the whole interview? @MariaShriver
Dr. Ramani is a great source for this information. She speaks well and makes this subject easier to understand. I had a hard time with Maria's face. She can barely move it -- too much surgery and injections. Very strange.
We need to help ourselves, not to judge. 💜
adhd meds help me with controlling behavior. like yelling. so i wonder if narcs lack dopamine to change behavior, because dopamine is needed to take the wheel of the car, otherwise it's in autopilot.
Dr.Ramani, is it my role to fix my son in whom I see narcissistic tendencies? He is almost 19 and has a grandiose narcissist as a father.
It can be learnt Behaviour( observed ) and genetic.. 🎉
What u think of Prof. Sam Vaknin?
need real input here!!
he explains the
chemical"" change as a jung child
in the body and it made sense to me , why A narc needs the" Same chemical change , again over and over as a grown up ..
I know I didn't explain that right ,
does anyone know what I mean , and Dr.Ramani , what do You think of that explanation?
please
Anybody ??
much appreciated..
I listen to both and both have valuable inputs..take what works for you...
@suhitamitra
Thank you. Much appreciated.
. to me the special 3 do it , a mix of
wisdom , heart, and facts
of Dr. Ramani ,
Sam Vaknin and Andrew, NARCDAILY
it helped , still alive, and on my way out, yes the third try, but it does not count how many times you try ,
it counts how many time you stand up and go !!
btw,
never never ever leave evidence, he will hunt you..
all the ❤️love ❤️ ❤️
Narcs can definitely cry at a movie, and be nice to so and so… but if the same thing or similar thing in real life happens to YOU… nope… no tears… and when it’s time to be nice to YOU instead of over-the-top kindness to that stranger acquaintance… nope. Not for you.
