The best pork pies are ones that are not mass produced but from a local butcher who makes them with love and care.

That pork growler looks superb! 😍
Little tip for us gelatine lovers...I boiled a couple of ham shanks, then reduced the water/juice left over, by half. This sets into really tasty gelatine, which I freeze. Then when I make or buy a pie, I boil up the jelly and pipe I to said pies..lovely!

The Celebrated Pork Pie Establishment and the large ones are hand raised and
    sold by weight.

When I go up too Scotland to see the wife’s family they have a local butcher by them that sell their own steak pies, white pudding and Lorne sausages aka (square sausage) as we can’t get that stuff in England I always come back with about 200 quids worth of pies, Lorne sausage and white pudding. Get home whack it in the chest freezer in the garage and that will last me until the next year when I go up. The butcher only sees me once a year, but he always remembers me and says “you come to bulk buy again Englishman”😂 we always have a good chuckle over how much I buy off him.

Nice video again. You could have 2 of those pork pies for the price of your last burger and change. Which would you prefer I wonder? 🤔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

Looks lovely Gareth. Not sure it would stretch to 8 servings in my house though as stated on the rear of box.

We’re all different and I’d end up pulling all the jelly out of it 😀. If I buy pork pies I tend to go for the Small Pork Farms ones without pickle. I have noticed they’re not the same if you keep them too long.

They are not the same as they were in the 60s & 70s. I always prefered the Gala pie with pickled onions, pickled eggs and a heap of mustard on top. Cronick indigestion on a plate.

Andrew Jones's pork pies are my fave, lashings of mushy peas and a dribble of HP sauce

I like my pork pie with pickled onions. When it comes to pork pies there is no point in buying cheap but for me they are an occasional treat.

I love good pork pies, too. Also the jelly. Never enough jelly! I only came back from ASDA this morning. Had I known, I would have bought one of these. What I get is a pork pie from a local butcher, or a Grasmere pork pie from Morrisons.

I'd stick to the pies you know. I went out to buy one on Thursday after hearing the review
I must just be so unlucky firstly there was absolutely no jelly whatsoever , was feeling cheated for the price and then to top it all off I had the largest lump of gristle I have ever found in a pork pie. No, I won't be buying it again. I get that they are made on a production line and they cannot all be quality checked, but like you I will look to a real butchers shop in future.
