I know a word! ...hyperextention
Please do an instructional on leg locks 🙏
Just starting on your Kimura trap series, it’s great - excellent pacing and clear explanation.👍🏻
I got excited for BJJ belts haha 😅
1 Don't step behind your opponent with one leg.
2 Hook with your instep
3 Be ready for the back step.
4 Don't let your opponent underneath your hips.
5 Clear the knee line.
Written for my own benefit.
I needed this my Achilles hill is the leglock game I tried to avoid them at all cost in competition, lol,
Incredible details and how you simplify something so complex. You’re a black belt at CZcams too!
I appreciate that alot. Thank you!
I was just now watching Dean Lister's leg lock system on CZcams and wished that he had covered countering leg locks in-depth! Thanks Jordan, amazing work as always
I solved this issue. My right leg was amputated in Nov so now I just hide my left and I'm good
You didn’t just deliver on your promise to us to make a leg lock defense video… You exceeded expectation. This is going to be my meta for the next 6 months. Thanks so much!!!!
Amazing tips! Your videos are always concise and very informative, thank you!
🙏
Jordan your videos are gold. Best bjj channel by far. Attention to detail and breakdowns are so good. Always look forward to a new release. Here’s hoping you do a video on how to do leglocks or maybe a course like the kimura trap. Would be so good.
Saw this upload and taken down yesterday was about to watch it!
Awesome. No one explains things quite like you Jordan! Thanks for the important video🙏 looking forward to the escapes next!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Yes we want to see a specific video thank you so much
Best JJ channel
One of your absolute best videos Jordan. Great job buddy!
Thanks!
I really miss your gi videos, keep it up master.
Best BJJ content out here
I find this really useful as a conceptual tool to preemtively shutdown my opponents' leglock defense. The key points you provided act as a mental checklist I can quickly revisit milliseconds before commiting to a submission. Thanks for a great content as always.
gold as usual. i didn't even think of heel hooks as involving the hips. that's why i love your conceptual approach
oh also love that im not hallucinating. when i saw this vid yesterday for a split second
Hey man,i love your videos, i read your 'about' and saw that youre actually a amatuer mma champion, so id love to see how to incorporate bjj in mma. id love a bjj for mma series
I always learn useful tips from your content man, even watching you enter leg locks from different positions in the rolls you referred to in this video was helpful. Awesome content, had no idea you a 100% never submitted rate truly impressive.
Thanks man! I do get submitted when I try stuff I haven't tried before though. Just doesn't happen often (the sub part) lol
Hey, love the content been watching for a while. Your principles over specific techniques approach to instruction has really helped my jiu-jitsu. My 7 year old has been training bjj for like 2 years and recently started wrestling, do you have any recommendations on wrestling specific channels that have that same approach. I think it is really good for kids as they don't need to remember 10 steps in a move rather just understand the concept. Thanks man..keep doing what you are doing!!
A detailed video on leg lock escapes would be helpful Jordan. Also a video on general tips/concepts on controlling different positions
2:11 jordan casually gripping his shorts lol
Amazing stuff (as always), maybe a leglock offense vid next?
I voted for leglock offense in the pole a couple weeks ago 😂
LFG!!! Been waiting for this video bro; thank you!
🙏👊
great vid! nice leg tats too
Glad you like them!
I want to see specific videos on all leg entanglement escapes lol please please please
I just happened to be wearing an Anson Belt while watching this video… cheers
Probably my favorite video from you. Solid stuff. I have comments about the CTAs. Not sure if you want to hear that. Otherwise, I super enjoyed the highlights for clarity . Really nice!
Thanks! Ya let me know what you mean.
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu one of the ads has really tiny font. It's a great quote but it's buried. Also. The advice I heard was "Only use one CTA at a time." The logic is the average person gets confused by too many calls. Otherwise. Love what you do! Keep it up!
Hooking with the instep I call "sticky feet" little more catchy :)
I'm gonna watch this so much I'll memorize the transcript
Thank you for watching, even one time!
Yes, specific video. I need to find a more fitting gym and get back on the mat!
Another solid video. Oss.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you again
Always welcome
hey jordan, what do you think about reaping and the ban of them?
great tutorial....
I video so nice, you upload it twice
I just got leg locked a few times by my open mat buddy today ima gonna use this
Let me know how it goes!
I've only done Jiujitsu for 3 years, but to me, any technique is good to go. I've worked on cranks, heel hooks, reaping, etc. since I started. It's all about being careful, and respectful of your training partners
Jordan my kids love your videos great leg lock technique they have asked me how do u close your guard when people put knee in the middle
Aw that's awesome to hear! You can only do that if you have really long legs. Like Roger Gracie for example could close his guard even if his opponents had a knee the middle.
If their knee is in the middle you can go to a different guard like de la Riva. But if you do want close guard a good method is to lift up that leg with a butterfly hook. Lifting it up to drop the knee down and then secure closed guard.
Legend
You could do a whole video on just the instep part and I would watch it.
Still havent been tapped on yt?? Someone come get this guy! Chewjitsu, I choose you! 👊
Haha we already have a roll on CZcams
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Yes I know, great video! You two need to run it back in the GI.
Wrist locks are the last frontier?
As someone who has torn an ACL, I can say the advice to TAP TAP TAP is correct. Tap!!! Don’t tear your shit for nothing. This whole video was very triggering for me but beneficial nonetheless 🤣 Love this content. Thanks for putting this out here for our benefit.
2:01 the tibula? Haven't heard that one before hahahha
Oops I'm a dumb ass lol
mix of tibia and fibula I like it hahha@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
🔥👊
I would love a detailed video of some specific escapes. Along with another detailed Video with Specific leg locking submissions 🥹🙏
👊
Much needed thanks!...Pretty sure most of my competition losses came from leg locks :\
Hope it helps!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Yes, clearing the knee is very important. 👍🏼
What if feet gross you out?
It hurt my soul when he said it was “the femur connecting to the tibula.” 😭😭😭maybe Jordan is saving time by combining the fibula and tibia lol
Hurt my soul realizing I combined them after already posting lol
So based
Leg locks are are still like rainbow unicorns to me at this point at my white belt level.😂 well I can defend against white belt attempts.
Still trying master controlling the upper body.
Just don't promote to brown belt and you'll never get leg locked in 99% of gyms ez cheat code
It's my get out of jail free card against the big guys. I love the dark arts.
I feel like there isn’t enough emphasis on heel slipping in these videos
That's for part 2
Ah...complicated and scary..
Not really. Just like any other position and submission 🙂
White belts should learn leg lock DEFENSE after learning: good health and safety, good basic positions, solid defense against basic submissions
Or whatever their own coaches think is best :)?
Pp
leglocks still are cheap. theyre on par with hair pulling
Why though?
because you havent made your opponent vulnerable. youve just latched on to his most vulnerable part. theres a big difference@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu because he probably can't do them or defend them 🤭
its not a dirty submission anymore, but its still certainly for the uncultured
White belts shouldn't be applying any submissions without direct supervision of a qualified coach. Stuff happens but safety will ensure excellent health and growth
Depends how new the white belt is :)
I find it weird when white belts go for leg locks.
They tend to think highly of themselves that they pulled off a submission. But they still suck at passing, controlling, defending, etc. lol
sounds like you need to learn some defense
@@julianbassk oh i defend against them fine, then easily pass and submit them with ease lol
Im just saying, its weird that thats all they rely on to 'win'. Theyre literally just looking for short cuts
still cheap.. old school
😂😂😂😂
Can you give any rational explanation for your position
@@sevourn thank you for opportunity to clarify.. this from a black belt training 24 years.. I feel like a schmuck going for foot locks. for me, blood chokes are the holy Grail..why?.. stops the fight , no harm, no foul.. no one's gets hurt, nobody's goes to jail.. pop someone's knee or ankle, now they're really pissed and fight continues.. from a self defense perspective foot locks (and all joint breaks) are suboptimal.. maybe it's the old school in me, but foot locks, however effective (and they are) will always be douchy to me.. guilty.. thanks again, oss
Bro how a person gonna keep engaged in a fight if he doesn't have a knee/ankle anymore. I'm still not a fan of ankle/heel locks, leg bar is cool tho
@@franuki1757 adrenaline
Damn I made it to the thumbnail. 😅🥲. Great video as always, going to take some notes from this for next time.
Check out that ham string tho!!
