    Here's some cool trivia. Andera Bomonts voice actor Dana Delaney would later go on to voice Lois Lane in Superman the animated series. In the three part episode world's finest Batman "The Batman from the animated series guest stars and Lois and Bruce kind of develop a relationship.

    This is not just one my favorite animated movies of all (alongside Superman vs the Elite and Into Spider Verse) but also is the best Batman movie ever, mostly because it does something that the live action movies failed to do: It focus on Batman. While most of the live action movies focus more on the villains and Batman trying to defeat them and save the entire city, this one is not just a muder mystery (allowing Batman to be a detective) but also a personal story that actually dives into Batman's mind, telling his backstory from a new perspective, showing how hard was for him to lose the girl he loves in order to become the dark knight.

    This movie is still one of my favorite Batman movies out there. It still holds up better than some of the live action films, which sadly that bar got kind of low for minute. I remember when this movie came out as a kid and felt blown away that the American film critics Siskel and Ebert loved the film over the live action movies. This movie tells a very compelling story of Bruce and Batman. Like becoming Batman was almost inevitable in the end but at some cost of being Bruce. And maybe the film kind of serves as an origin of the separation of Bruce and Batman, where Bruce is more the mask than Batman is. And we also get the best Batman in Kevin Conroy (I got to meet him!) and one of the best Jokers in Mark Hamill in the film. Dana Delaney was also compelling. Voice director Andrea Romano should get her credit as well, she always gets great performances from her actors. They also handled the love story very well. The tragedy being that she was doomed the moment she became the villain. And you understand why she was the villain and like you said, was a dark reflection of Batman, how you can get too far into obsession and revenge. I always find tragic villains compelling. When you understand why they do what they do but don't condone it. I've always liked Mr. Freeze in that regard. Which again, we can thank TAS for revamping his story, Heart of Ice is still one of my favorite episodes. And I liked how they handled him in BATMAN BEYOND as well. Which BB: RETURN OF THE JOKER is the other great Batman animated movie, which I suspect may be a future video here. Lol. I loved the Mr Freeze boss fight in the ARKHAM CITY game too, which is also a great Batman story, again with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles. I always wanted to see Sir Patrick Stewart play Freeze in a movie or something. Put him in a suit with those red goggles and he'd look the part. And with his amazing acting abilities he'd bring out that tragic side of the character. That would have been perfect. No viewing of the TAS is complete without watching this movie. It's the cherry on top of the whole thing. There were some great years of animation that started with TAS up to JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. And I really loved the Batman comics in that era too. Looking forward to your next video on the comics. Take care my Bat-friend.

    The Battle between Batman and the cops is one of my favorite scenes in Year one and this film. They show that Batman is a badass even when he's is badly wounded. In Year one his shoulder and leg were shot and bleeding and a bunch of lunatic cops were gonna kill him. Most people feel like the prey in that situation but Batman the cops felt like the predators but Batman made them realize they're the prey and he no matter what is the predator.

    • @alexandrefrauches132
      @alexandrefrauches132 Před 3 lety +2

      True, however the scene also helps to show Batman as human being, since he does get wounded and is almost capture or kill by the cops, making his victories much more impressive. This vunerable aspect of Batman is something most modern versions lack, with DC trying way to hard to make Batman into a flawless vigilante, who is ready for any situation and doesn't make mistakes.

    This is my favourite batman animated movie it really expresss Bruce emotions and the loss of true happiness When I first watched this movie I wanted Bruce to be with Andrea even though I knew that it wouldn't last it was a upsetting scene when Andrea broke of with Bruce and eventually she choose the path of vengeance. I believe out of all the women Bruce/batman had been with Andrea was the one I felt there was more of a connection. I wish dc would make animated movies like this in the near future.

    I didn’t know about that old Brave and the Bold issue and never drew similarities between the explosion scene in the movie and the one from that Cluemaster arc. Really cool!
    MOTP has to be my favourite Batman movie. I think it frames Bruce’s beginnings in an interesting way compared to say, Year One. In Year One, becoming Batman is like a revelation for Bruce, finally having a way to fulfill his promise. It’s like the answer he’d been searching for his entire life. But in MOTP, Bruce doesn’t really have a choice but to become Batman, his chance at a life with Andrea gone. I think I prefer Year One’s less depressing take on the origin, but MOTP does a good job of justifying Bruce’s decision by similarly highlighting the sense of duty he has, in contrast to Andrea’s cold and ultimately empty life of revenge.

    I would still say that in Batman Begins the love Story is more of a B plot or even a C plot. I mean when you really think about they start of as just friends and their love story is more of a by product of them simply having come of age and still caring deeply about each other.

    75 minutes are more than just enough to encapsulate more about Batman than any other Batman film. I know people idolize The Dark Knight as the best Bstman film ever, but it was more comcerned about 9/11 and preachy nihilsm than telling an actual good story. No offence.

    • @alexandrefrauches132
      @alexandrefrauches132 Před 3 lety +2

      While I don't think the dark knight is flawless (the big problem for me is that Batman arc, while good on paper, is overshadow by the Joker), a common problem in most Batman live action movies) or better than animated movies like Mask of the Phantasm and Under the Red Hood, I disagree that TDK doesn't have good story and was just focusing "preachy nihilsm". This is actually a big misconception. While TDK has a very dark tone it also has some light and fun moments (specially from Alfred and Joker) as well some hopeful scenes (ex: the boat scene where people and criminals choose to spare each other lifes, showing that not everyone in Gotham is like Joker or Harvey, who turn into a villains in a bad situation) that helps give the movie a balance of tone, something that the movies that followed (ex: MoS and BvS) failed to do because they focused more on the dark stuff instead of trying balance with the hopeful ones.
