Great show, and remember: Talking to plants is fine, even good. The problem comes if they start talking back to you.
đđđ lmfaooo this comment took me out lol
.........I think I'm in trouble
FEED ME SEYMOUR
Pretty much a goosebumps episode! đđȘŽđ±
there's no problem about the second thing. it's totally fine. the problem is when they don't shup up! can be pretty annoying
Love this! You might like the book The Signature of All Things, it's about a woman who becomes a botanist in the 18th century, very well written and interesting book. Lots of plant love!
Ooh Iâll check it out!!
Youâd think her videos couldnât get any better, but then comes high-quality Emma footage- đ
Lovely collection, so comforting watching this esp being a plant lover myself ALSOOOOO Did I hear the word BOYFRIEND correct??????????????
omg I was looking for someone in the comments talking about this lmao good thing I'm not crazy
Haha yesđ thought I could casually slide that inđ
I donât wanna make this the top comment because itâs not why we love and adore Emma but I had the slightest suspicion she was seeing someone (and living with her partner?) for a while. So happy to see youâre comfortable enough on here to share with us. Loved the video Emma, youâve inspired me to get more plants.
I'm not much of a plant person myself but watching your passion for them is so cute and inspiring đ
Bookmark collection tour next đ
no but HD Emma is unrivaled y'all. And you know how passionate she is about her plants just by hearing her talk about 'em, it's absolutely adorable! Not a plant person myself but every emmie upload is a must-watch!
edit: Did Emma just say "The boyfriend put that up there" at 20:41???? ok now I'm intrigued lol
iâm so glad iâm not the only one who names my plants! i name mine after my friends, so when one isnât doing well, i know to check in on the friend
that is the sweetest thing Iâve ever heard
Hey I do that too!! At least for some of them. I don't have enough friends.
That's voodoo!
i'm now jealous of emmie's book collection AND plant collection
yours are the only sponsorships I actually watch through - love it!
Haha thank you I love making themđ
The moment weâve (planty/bookish people) all been waiting for đđŒđâš
Also, 16:50 that succulent is stretching out looking for the sun, those are full on hardcore sun lol otherwise they'll stretch like that until they get it, and 19:50 that's a Peperomia Obtusifolia, from the genus Peperomia
The mustache is as good as the book reviews at this point đđ𧥠And Iâm glad Iâm not the only one who talks to my plants đ
Hi Emma! Glad to see the "bookman " is back! đ I love your plants! They're really precious! đ±đżđđ
I just bought a little succulent two days ago. I know nothing about plants, but I simply couldn't leave the little guy at the store đ Luckily, that type of plant is easy to take care of and the lady at the store was very helpful.
Such cute plants from a wonderful person! Much love to Ivy, Death Spike, and the rest of them â€ïžâ€ïž. As a budding (pun intended) plant scientist, I do have an answer to your small question about the parsley, you can honestly start using them for food anytime before they start flowering! Once they start flowering the plants move all of their energy and resources into making the flowers big and beautiful for reproductionâŠ. Which unfortunately takes a lot of the flavor away from the leafy material which we humans like to munch on. Same thing for basil- once it starts getting its true leaves you can use those whenever (just make sure to leave a few so it can still absorb sunlight).
Thank you so much for the tips!!âșïž
Nice change of pace. I LOVE plants! đđȘŽ đ±
I'm not a big fan of house plants, but I love gardening. It's so rewarding and there is no bigger joy than to make meals with your own crops.
I just recently discovered this channel, and I gotta say...good gravy!!! I don't know if anyone's ever told you this: but you, your ambience, the music, the cinematography, your environments, and more it all seems like it comes from a Hayao Miyazaki movie. Good job on everything. I dig this channel!!!
I think you would like a peace lily plant! Super easy to take care of, beautiful and full appearance, plus pretty white flowers :)
sometimes i solely watch a video to see either the sponsor promo footage cause it brings me so much joy and happiness
I'm loving your ad content!! Never thought I'd enjoy ads so much! đ How are you so creative?!
Love your collection! I lost a couple plants during the winter so it was nice to get some ideas for types of new plants to get đđđ
I've never clicked on a video so fast. So many beautiful plant babies!!! Also, I recommend getting a fatsia plant. They are very cool looking and pretty stress free.
Lol when is Emma getting a Grammy for these performances
yesssss !!!! I've been waiting for this for the longest time, so happy you finally introduced us!
hey emmie i just got a concussion today and i've been rewatching your older videos for strength and your progress since then is so much encouragement for me. thank you for being so open on here
Loved the plant tour đđ
I need to know Book Manâs story. It must be fascinating. Maybe he doesnât even work for BoM, he just knows they are a great way to get book recommendations
Oh this is such a lovely video idea! I immediately love them all so much đ„° you make me want to be a plant person
Love this! Iâm a plant mum too, the one plant I seem to struggle with is a monstera so seeing yours was a big plant goal moment. Every monstera Iâve had has been so fussy and I just canât seem to please them đ€·ââïž. Iâm growing herbs and spring onions outside and also have no clue when I can start to use them đ
Love the indoor plant collection. Great way to start the video
Loving the plant content! đ
I LOVE the coin leaves! So cute!!!
this was so precious! I want to be a plant mum too
Lovely, you look after your plants so well. They are amazing! I think orchids are the easiest to grow for me, Just put them next to the sunny window. They do not need much water. So very suitable for me who easily forgot to water all the time. Mine are flowering all the time and even gave some baby orchids. I just finished reading the Padro Paramo in Chinese on kindle. I think it is definitely great, very different from the traditional classic novels, and in an impressive way. It is only a bit depressing. So I will read something else first and then try to read the English version of it. :)
i was really in a bad mood few seconds ago so i opened youtube to check whether emma posted anything đ„ș and u actually did!! gurll!! thank u so much u dont know how much ur videos mean to me đ
đđđđ
the air plant you have seems like what we call "clavel del aire" in Argentina, i googled it and its scientific names seems to be Tillandsia aeranthos. If it's the one I'm saying, it gives a really pretty flower that has violet and fucsia colors :)
Ah amazing, thank you so much!!đ
Oooh, yes, plants †This video was a lovely reminder to take care of my own hahaha. Some of my favourites are the chinese money plant, some different ferns, cissus rhombifolia (grape ivy? koningswingerd in dutch), the prayer plant (maranta leuconeura) and aloe (I got two babies from a friend and for years they barely survived and then I moved them to a sunnier spot and within months they're huge). I recently propagated a spiderplant and wow that was easy. Now one of the babies is almost as big as the parent. And I split up a plant that looks like a succulent but apparently isn't that I can't remember the name of and omg it's an explosion of plants. And lastly I have a bunch of herbs and a few flowering plants on the balcony.
I relate so much to the pothos propagation agenda đ I have a big pothos plant from which I made two tiny ones and I just love them so much, they're really pretty and so easy to take care of! If I had more pots on hand I'd definitely be growing some more lmao
All your plant collection is incredible, living in your apartment must be a dream đ I aspire to have a similar collection someday! đ„°
This is a whole Jungle!!!
I love it, great video đ„°
The sponsor segment is always my favđâŁ
Emmie, Emmie, Emmie!
Love Youđ„șâ€ïž
I remember asking for this exact video a bunch of videos ago. I'm so happy!
đ„°đ„°
The skit at the beginning I am obsessed.
Loved this omg
Also I'm currently reading The Phantom of the Opera because of you!
Wisterias (which grow in northern Iran) apparently also grow in southern Canada so if you like hanging plants like dichondra they'd probably be the most "colorful" addition to your collection. Or if you don't want them inside you can hang them out your window, either way they are my favorites. But yeah, you'll need lots of water which can always be a hassle.
I'm growing an aloe, and it had a fungal infection (from what google has told me) but it got repotted and had a baby moved to a different pot and now it's doing so much better!
I also have 3 cacti and a succulent which are all doing well. Although one of the cacti is falling over a bit but I'm trying to rectify that
the notif that I'm always waiting. â€â€
Your video editing skill is brilliant! You are so talented.
Loved meeting all your plant children
The plants are definitely rockân đčđ
The herbs can be left until they are much bigger and sturdier and then you'll get more from them for your cooking as they'll then be able to withstand having leaves picked regularly.
Beautifully decorated
The plant you thought was part of the pilea family is actually a peperomia obtusifolia (baby rubber plant)! I LOVE both pileas and peps so much, and once u get the hang of peps, theyâre really easy to care for! Just never overwater! I do a âtaco testâ: if the leaves start to fold like a taco, itâs time to water. Some of my recs: syngonium (arrowhead plant, easy care and they grow like crazy), pilea cadierei (aluminum plant, same care as pilea glauca), and scindapsus (common name satin pothos but theyâre not pothos, they do have the same care tho) đȘŽ
As a bookworm who loves plants, this is a great video đ
Plant content đđ· I want to get a house plant soon but I live in such a hot area I wouldnât know where to begin!
The only one I watch her ads with pleasure đđ
I was going to recommend you get a chain of hearts but you already have one! Apparently they sprout small flowers as well. Canât wait to see mine.
Ahh just watched and the new camera looks amazing Emma!
Thank you so much!!âșïž
This was so relaxing đ love plants so much ⥠i recently added a Peperomia to my family
The whole time watching this i was like oml the air u must be breathing is premium, freshly grown if you will
Ok but your bangs look so cute
Finally finishing this video and resisting the urge to answer every one of your questions đ đ đ donât be annoying, Pam. Donât be annoying.
Your pilea is gorgeous! People struggle with those so youâve got the touch!
Beautiful! Youâve inspired me to do so many things, two of them being to drink tea and have at least 10 plants in my room đ
Hi Emma, I hope you're doing well, it's very cold down under this evening. I have just put my heater on as I'm chilled. I love winter and rainy days and nights, so I was wondering if you had further recommendations of books with lots of rainy days/nights in them. I love your Winter video recommendations and have made a new list on my Goodreads for seasonal books, I have added most of those you've recommended. It's been almost a week since this video so I look forward to your next one. Kathy/Australia
I really wanna get more into houseplants, so this video is solid motivation. Also, you're glowwwwing!
I have propagated many pilea babies in water and then planted them in soil, works really well! Have never started with just one leaf though, so very curious!
Emmie....I'm speechless.....this phenomenal content!!!! What are you????
THE VID I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
From planting, how long until the plants are mature enough to have their leaves harvested?
Parsley - 10-13 weeks
Basil - 7-11 weeks
Chives - when the leaves are 6 inches long
My insparationđ„șâ€ïž
0:26 oh I love these two!!
Love this
this is so cute! All your plants look so pretty! (Just like u)
Haha thank you lovely đ„°
Amazing collection. Also, the succulent at 16:50 is etiolated, it needs more sun to start growing like before (leaves closer).
the ad was PHENOMENAL
"Deathspike" is a sansevieria fernwood!! One of my favorite plants!! đȘŽ
Great start. That was a pure laugh. The pots in the kitchen are too small if you plan to harvest every week. I hope your feeding them every couple of weeks over the year except in the winter. With those small pots the roots dry out and stunts them.
I love when my interests collide.
Love your nails đ đŒđ
shoutout to the loyal bookman
Beautiful
emmie the plant mom đđ±đ
My mom used to go to the bottom of the back door stairs and harvest chives, which grew thick and strong in a patch. We later realized that was where our dog whizzed ...
You need a small trellis on which to train your Ivy.
You are thriving in the garden of Eden!â€ïž
this is so sweet & comforting đłđȘŽ i love u sm :)
Omg now I want a polka dot plant it looks so cute. I have 4 succulents and one dying, I have no idea about their names but theyâre growing a lot and look great. My apartment has a peak of sun exposure in the morning for a couple of hours and then itâs super dark all day so idk if getting more plants is a good idea but I want to for sure
You can have more lower light stuff, succulents love sun so they may not thrive in your space. Most tropicals (pothos, snake plants, and aglaonema for example) would be fine with morning light.
You can also get an inexpensive grow bulb (the GE one is good) to help your higher light plants out!
@@PamsPrettyPlants thanks for the tip! Iâd love to get one of those lights Iâll think about getting it but in the meantime Iâll get one of those!đ„°
I love all of your plant bbys!
My poor monstera is currently infested with mealybugs and I can't get them to go away đ
Awesome
Emma, as a nature girl and an avid reader you need to read the non-fiction book from Canada, called Finding the Mother Tree...Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest by Suzanne Simard. It's an excellent book that I enjoyed reading very much. I would send it to you but I don't think you have received Rebecca yet that I sent to you.
I tried to make an anagram of my first and last name a while back, and the best and most accurate result was "li'l leaf, yey!" (punctuation added). So yeah, you're definitely not alone in getting a thrill from seeing new leaves on your plants. đ
Amazing
Beautiful đ„°
Pretty sure Magnus is an aloe of some description, death spike is a snake plant, the mystery plant above the pothos in your bedroom is a peperomia :O)
do you put the same kind of soil for all the different plants or different kinds of soil like with varying ph level
Emma, I hope youâll read the Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill. She wrote the girl who drank the moon and Iâm dying to hear your thoughts on her most recent book!
Lovely
I swear that I am looking for plants for my apartment. đđ I have no idea what to buy đ€·đŒââïž
The book man, love it
đ
Magnus is my dragons name btw
New camera!!!! We see you đ€©đ€©
you are an angel on earth.
