I'm considering switching careers from advertising art direction to product design. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in getting deeper understanding of this role and its responsibilities. Thank you.

Excellent video! I would say user interviews happen at a much earlier point in this process. The user interviews can provide valuable data that can feed into your persona and user journey deliverables

    Goodness.
I've been doing a lot of this.. Research, Personas, Wireframes, Prototyping (code), User Testing, Developing Design Systems, Collaborating with Engineers and Designers, Convincing Stakeholders...
I've been marketing myself as a Design Technologist | I UX Engineer, which is a hard role to find.
Perhaps I should be pivoting to PD

@@relabstudios so with graphic design you can also be a product designer? I’m deciding at the moment on choosing a major and a major in Art for BA doesn’t seem that far away

The term "product designer" is an abuse. This term refers to industrial product designers. It has now been wrongly recovered by the digital/UX domain. This creates a lot of confusion now between digital designer and industrial product designer. The real job term should remain: Software Designer, Designer Digital or Designer UX because these names already exist and are more precise.

@@whatamidoingw.mylife5882 So you could at least use Digital Product Designer if I follow your way of thinking. The digital design industry just failed doing a simple search before using a job term that already belonged to an existing profession. This penalises both professions.
