The Spencer family was very wealthy. Diana wore the Spencer family tiara at the wedding. Her family arguably has a claim to the Crown as she is a descendant of King Charles II through an illegitimate son. He is my favorite king. He had to hide in a hollowed out tree from Cromwell’s assassins as a child. He restored Catholicism bloodlessly and had to forgive the country that beheaded his father. He chose to stay with his wife even though she couldn’t bear him an heir. He also sported an enormous black wig.
Princess Diana came from a lot of old money. She wasn’t poor by any means.

We are all trapped in a system. Let’s interview a single mother with 3 kids, working two jobs and struggling to survive.
But you have to remember, that Harry and Meghan was asked to do the interview and they excepted. it's not there fault that they are public figures and get a lot of press coverage.
So I think you might not be viewing this from a critical angle.
This is the experience of a biracial black woman who saw the true colors of institution that saw the true colors of a governing systems and institution.
If this system is racist to her? Then imagine how racist it is to the people it governs, how racist it is to the single mothers of color.
This is putting a spotlight on mental health and racism. Something that many many single mothers struggle with.
It sounds like you're making it into a misery Olympics.
Then throw racism into the mix and see how much you like it. Whether you are rich or poor, everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. Nobody goes into a store and select the race and colour of their skin. It is all accidental. Race is a social construct. Who are these SOTE. Who died and left these people God.

One of the things that was said that made me tear up was when Harry said, that he would not have been able to move his family and have security if it wasn't for what his mom had left him. That was so powerful because it speaks volumes about Diana. Even though she is not here she is still taking care of her son and now his wife and her grandson. Diana is still with her sons. I love knowing that. Diana was gone too soon but she still have her son's back.
You should remember they chose to leave the royal family so they are not entitled to a penny from me and other British tax payers. They shouldn't have been surprised and it would have been a scandal if they were still being paid.
Awesome. Diana is stilled loved by people all over the world. She was an awesome, loving, and kind woman. She was betrayed and very mistreated. I'm glad she provided for her son outside of the royals. Wow.

She said her son would not receive any securities which is why they felt that it’s risky for his life to be raised in that environment (not only securities but the support from RF as well) but not having any securities. So, it’s better to leave and raise him in better environment because at the end, his life quality would be better.

Great example of when very few words can carry tremendous weight. I felt it in my heart. I got transported to times when I felt the same. Watching this interview changed us. It left us sad but I hope more human. They are really brave.

Can you imagine how Princess Diana suffered with her narcisistic husband and "the firm" and they left her by herself with any psychologic and security support? The poor beautiful young lady? If you look at the comment section at a lot of places, you will see all cheer leaders for the Royal Family, furthering the hate and racism that Meghan has already got. So while such Royal family cheer leaders who exist, there is no hope.
We all think it happens to other people it wont happen to me. A friend said the same thing she knew what she was getting into but the 1st time she met Harry's Grandma he had to teach her to curtsy. Thank God Princess Beatrice had presence of mind to help Meaghan learn. Also Harry was breed into this life so he just knows and trying to remember all protocols beforehand to teach her.

"I'm not comfortable for sharing that" -Harry. I love the statement. He really loves his family. Not like somebody who blew up family internal matters. Even on the unnecessary thing about sister in law problem. @@sheilafurbank9367 1. she met James Hewitt AFTER Harry was born and 2. if you look at infant photos of Charles and Harry side by side there is no mistaking that Harry is Charles's son, they look near identical.
Diana knew from the beginning, Charles was involved with Camilla and couldn't marry her since she had children. Charles knew Camilla from when they were teenagers. Diana wanted to be the Queen from age 6, when she thought her older sister was going to marry Charles. Their estate was next door to Balmoral Castle. Diana knew exactly what she was getting into. She wanted to serve the People as the Queen.
I love how she calls the royal family “the firm”... “the institution”... but never just family. It speaks louder than what she put words to.
You missed the point, clearly. The firm and the institution are both descriptors for those who manage the royal family. She was NOT referring to the family as we commonly understand family, in fact she and Harry both carefully made clear that this was NOT about the "family" but the institutions that govern and rule how that family live their lives. I am a Hispanic woman (mixed race) a married to an Irish man. Family and friends always wondered what our kids would look like. It's totally normal! Both sides were wondering if he would get my husband's blue eyes, or my brown skin that can tan! LOL! It was fun! Same race couples do it too! I hate how there are comments about her being “dramatic” cause she’s not and “stupid for thinking that it’d be a fairytale”, since no one would. To these people, I can only assume you didn’t watch the whole available interview and are either talking with bias because of they’re financial status or just taking this straight out of context. Meghan basically had no voice in that place and was expected to be silent, even with the constant negative slander from the media. When she asked for help with her mental health she didn’t receive it, and her safety was in jeopardy, along with Henry’s.
I really don’t get how people can be so vulgar and cruel, going so far as to make jokes about meghan’s depression, when they are just trying to shed light on their situation. There wasn’t any shouting, screaming, or hysterical crying either, they were both respectful, kept their composures, and talked about their experiences.

I remember the wedding which broke with royal traditions with significant nods to her black heritage and who can forget Prince Charles walking her down the aisle and the compassion he showed to her mother. I remember the newspaper reports that the queen had assigned her most trusted aides to her to help her transition to royal life. I remember the British tabloids heralding Markle Sparkle and modernization of the British Monarchy. The formation of the fabulous four working on Mental Health ( albeit with no doubt that William and Kate were rightfully top bill). This all happened with the backdrop of Meghans family providing negative interviews about her in the press and details of her life and treatment of others being made public for the first time.
Then once married, I watched as Meghan did things her way: her constant holding of hands and Harry, while they were at work representing the queen (for anyone about to object, this is not likely to happen with a married couple who share a business when dealing with clients). I saw her and Harry move away from the Fabulous Four, as they felt they were not getting enough coverage, create their own social media and causes. I saw them hire their own PR teams, and with as many as 7 articles about them on yahoo per day it was clear that this team was clearly put to work. I remember their discussions on climate change while travelling mainly on private planes. I remember her holding her bump constantly in a way that detracted from anything else being said or done at an event. I remember them being booed on the night in question at the Royal Albert Hall (probably why she was crying when the lights were off). I remember their break with tradition of Lindo wing (ps photographers were waiting for that photoop no one had to ask you to ask for that picture). I remember them controlling the birth announcement of Archie which contradicted with timing with the Palaces announcement. I remember that no official picture, interview or display to the press was given when Archie was born (until much later). The public was left to speculate about whether he had red hair, what shade he was (yes even black people were keen to know). Then I remember their exit and their wish to pursue financial independence and the RF insistence that you are either in our out
All of this shows that these two people have done it their way from start to finish and were allowed to make many of their own decisions. The fact the many of these decisions were faulty and diminished their poularity is on them. In the desire of wanting and having their own privacy, they have called in camera crews to watch them lay wreaths on soldiers graves, they have collaborated on a book , they have announced their miscarriage, they have announced pregnancy. In fact their one goal is to create a brand that would eclipse William and Kate. When all else failed they double down on explosive claims of racism and mental health. All press is good press to stay relevant. While there may be elements of unconscious bias in the royal family, as there are in all organisations, I do not believe it rises to the level of racism. While insensitive comments can be made, they were made within a family and which one of us has not had that happen in our family. I truly hope this is their last word on this matter. They would do well to find a real cause and message. Bashing your family is not a sustainable option. I forgot to mention I am BLACK.
