- People are outraged by Pepsi's new ad starring Kendall Jenner. We asked Pepsi about the blowback and they said, "This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that's an important message to convey.” This isn't Pepsi's first ad controversy. In 2013 the company pulled an ad accused of racism and normalizing violence against women.

The Boys closed his mouth by making this iconic parody of this controversial commercial

Imagine thinking, "I HAVE AN IDEA!" and this was the idea. . . 😬
Just said I had an idea...not that it was good, or we should even think of shooting it, or that I should even tell another person, it should've just stayed in my head, but you wanted to see my idea, so who's the asshole now?
Well stocks went up for Pepsi so this was smart on there end
@@salvadordollyparton666 if you shout I had an idea clearly you think your idea is good and wanted people to hear about it.
Yes, what's wrong with it?
Yall are too sensitive. I'm assuming you've lived a VERY comfortable life if you think this is in any way, shape or form, offensive or controversial. And you're probably over analyzing this, don't read into it so much, because I know the writers of this commercial didn't.
If this triggers people on both the left and the right, Pepsi must be doing an awesome job at advertising.
it only triggers the left
The only thing that pisses off the right is that the stupid SJWs actually get legit angry about little stuff like this.
Its not pro-SJW. It mocks how stupid the movement is, and all you have to do is come together. There is no organized police brutality in the US, only individual cases.
It's cause it makes cops look like bad guys.
@@ExorFILMS posts that dont age well XD
i don't care about any of these complaints tbh. I just thought the ad was stupid and doesn't make sense for a company that sells fizzy drinks.
why does everyone start cheering immediately after Kendall gives the officer a pepsi like the peace tready was signed

Steinfeld Show the thing is there was a thing before this ad when a black women walked up to the police during a protest and got arrested and Kendall walked to the police as a white woman handed them the Pepsi and went along and she made a black woman hold her wig
Well it’s because protests and riots against police are serious issues, while this ad is just casually showing a rich woman solving that problem by handing an officer pepsi.
Where is Kendall Jenner now during the Floyd protests?
I don't understand this ad somebody explain???!!!
@Student Sylvia Conteh no the ad shows how PEPSI brings ppl together because its a PEPSI COMMERCIAL 🙄🙄
I don't understand it either, I only see diversity, and kindness. Why is people talking about racism? because she took a blue can and not a black can ?
@Student Sylvia Conteh its controversial because people are dumb
Kendall Jenner ended racism 😂
That Mountain Dew commercial was made by Tyler the Creator. A black man makes a racist commercial against black people? How does that work?
Tyler the creator hahaha. He creates shit.
Jonathan Stache there are black people who hate other people for being black what's your point? There are real uncle ruckus' out there. not to say that Tyler is but black people aren't a beehive. we all have our own beliefs and stuff.

I do. Glad I was raised in those times. Pepsi ads back then was just about fun football, footballers vs aliens and the lot, and not involving the Jenners along with this political bollocks.
Have you ever seen the cartoon PEPSI COLA COP?? They are very good.
There is always someone that has to be 😖TRIGGERED😖about something. What the hell does Kendal Jenner in a blonde wig, giving a cop a Pepsi have to do with anything. I've heard the news reports about what it's suppose to mean, but they missed the mark. Is Pepsi trying to say that their product can bring about peace? The SHITS💩, maybe, but not PEACE🕊. PLUS, I am so sick of seeing the Kardashians in everything, can't they just go away. 😝👎
My best guess for the message is that people should try to make peace during protests and cops should try to remain peaceful in enforcing the laws. A nice sentiment. Unfortunately, the execution was really bad because it got everything about reality wrong.

@@MG-tv3hg but did she have a Pepsi to offer?
It's because it should have never been made, a soda beverage should not push a political agenda period. They need to stick to donating to charities and hospitals, if they want to do something. People have lost lives on both sides and to use a hot topic fueled by anger to boost sales, that's like the mortician selling Kleenex at a funeral to some, while getting paid to pass out rocks to the others. If Pepsi felt the need to promote unity, they could have done the same commercial without the politics by just have diverse people pass a can to each other.

@@Kejsi777 I am black and I don’t understand why people see this as racism?
@@Kejsi777 exactly explain this
i think people are more annoyed that Kendal is in the commercial or just like to rant...there has been other commercials similar to this....
That is exactly right. 99% of the reason people even saw this commercial was because of Kendall Jenner. That said, the commercial kinda sucked.
Briee Johnson valid, but promotion like this plays down important issues in the minds of the people, many could argue it's even a form of propaganda.
Mostly correct, before i watched the video i thought i was going to hate it, because the Kardashians are bloodsuckers on anything commercial. Still the message seemed forced IMO, and slightly puts law enforcement in a negative light.
There have been others? I'm in UK so I might not know but I do think its Kendall mainly that's the problem.
I think it's how they've done this, the whole advert just doesn't seem right.
they could of easily got a black person,(I know cliche but true) And if they were so concerned for publicity and wanted a celebrity, well there are black celebrities. I think that would of made it a bit more helpful having a black figure considering it is a black problem. That's all black people want to see is just recognition.
And I think it's all too fake, like i know its an advert but i think if it were more raw and realistic it would have been better, You can still get the whole Pepsi moment in a better layout, It's all too 'La, La, La hand over the Pepsi, Big smile, Walk Away' sort of thing.
Audi also made a commercial pandering to SJWs.
where is kendall when we need her the world is falling apart!!
I want some answers that Kendall might not have right now.

You need cultural appropriation and stupidity? I'm sorry for you.
pretty sure it was made this dumb on purpose. they don’t care if they get negative feedback, the fact that this commercial is still remembered gets the job done in putting the pepsi name out there and in conversations for years to come (unfortunately lol)

Something really minor about this ad that bothers me nonetheless is WHO THE HELL BRINGS A CELLO TO A PROTEST?!?
Julian Noguera What the advert says is what you interpret it to say. It does not mean your interpretation is what they intended it to say. A
global brand would never spend billions on marketing saying «hey everyone, we are racist» and expect a increase in sales.

I'm I stupid for not seeing what's wrong with the commercial
the jail one was tyler, the creator and his crew, odd future. Tyler wanted a commercial and pepsi let him have one. he directed it too...
The reason so many people aren't understanding, is because this is actually two commercials put together. The first commercial is the one depicting Kendall Jenner handing the policeman the Pepsi, and supposedly putting an end to racism. Which is ignorant. The second commercial depicts the white woman crying about being attacked, And if you'll notice every single man in the mug shot lineup is African-American. Go figure.
I can see why both of these commercials would be offensive.
1. The first commercial seems to be making light of racism in the police violence that has for so long stemmed from it. not to mention, it's a white woman handing a white police officer, a Pepsi, to make everything OK again. SMH.
2. The woman who was mugged is white, and every man in the mug shot lineup is black. As I mentioned above. Anyone who cannot see, or understand how this would be offensive is obviously not very observant or empathetic.
These commercials may be funny for some, but imagine if your black son was shot by white police officer, and then you saw this commercial on television. Think about all the African-American men who have been wrongfully convicted of of crimes they didn't even commit. Crimes including a white victim. The point is, there is absolutely no case in which racism is funny, or should be made a parody/joke of. It's wrong, and it's definitely not good advertising.
That 2013 ad is crazy 💀

maybe don't do it to armored cops?
Where is she when we need her again?
To be honest, all I noticed was a lady giving a soda to a cop. I guess I'm normal and not a woke loser.
The issue is that Pepsi was using the backdrop of police brutality towards black people and they decided to have a WHITE woman come in and be the center of attention, treating the whole thing like a glamor shoot for her. They gave a white person the spotlight in a subject about minorities instead of the minorities themselves. They couldn't think beyond wanting to make money unfortunately because if they did they would've known to use a BLACK celebrity.
@@madamaonyx8844 oh no!!!!!!! A Caucasian was the center of attention! I say again, me just seeing a lady give a cop a Pepsi and nothing else means I’m a normal person and not a woke loser.

Did I miss something? Could someone explain me what was "wrong" with that ad?
vanhakaveri same here, I have no idea.
Considering the riots and Black lives Matter and those types of protests are important for black epically this advert mocks the whole protest because its based too much on publicity, It doesn't show the rawness that actually happens in a those atmospheres considering there so serious. It almost seems like they said
'Black lives Matter is popular, Kendall Jenner is popular let's put them both in an advert and watch the views come in kinda thing. And a black women did the same thing bobs without the Pepsi but got arrested for it.
So maybe Pepsi was the secret to not get arrested.
Black Lives Matter is a racist hate group anyway.

Um anyone can find offense to anything. “She made a black woman hold her blonde wig.” Wth? If it was a white woman holding a black wig YALL would have a problem. It’s just a person.
