I’m sure most of us would... but there will always be the lack of pride. If I were to be a supermodel, I would definitely want to work my way, bottom to top. So one day I can look back and say that I was able to accomplish that by my hard work and not by my last name. She’s the “highest paid model” on every list, because her entire net worth is high. This is not only from modeling, but other endeavors like Keeping up with the Kardashians, clothing lines, makeup collabs with her sister etc. Everyone has a heart attack when they see her as number 1 on highest paid lists because they think she’s getting paid more than any other model, but she’s making money from many different sources. Modeling does pay her a lot though, because she is very famous and brings brands more attention, whether it’s from people who like her or not. Modeling is a business, and they will value money and attention they get, over things like looks or skill. These brands do not exist to make poor unknown girls famous, they exist to make their companies rich.

I can’t get over people saying she looks bored and her walk has no personality. Yes she’s no Naomi Campbell but she’s doing fine. Her walk is pretty on point albeit not commanding. And don’t all models put on a blank face during runways? Not all models have to appear fiery. Kendall stands out in her own way to me. She always looks fresh and has that cold ice vibe going on which IS her charm. She has the body, the vibe & the walk for walking that runway regardless of how she got the opportunity. i just watched bella hadid's runway evolution and i saw people bringing kendall saying that she didn't improve at all and stuff comparing to bella so i came here and i just have to agree. I agree, followers on Instagram gets you shows and covers. She is a celebrity model not a real model. Have you noticed most of her covers have her name on the cover like a celebrity? It's like booking her sisters, she is booked for her celebrity family name not her looks.
People don't seem to get that fashion brands look for exposure. That's why celebs get casted. Kendall is a celebrity with lots of insta followers etc, so that's what increases a brand's exposure. But that being said, I love Kendall and I see improvements. I think she's going to prove many people wrong.

It's not bad for a model but too bad for a supermodel.

IMO she isn’t paid for her walking per se but her influence over trends and what youngsters wear? I know a ton of modes whose walks are amazing, but they’re not well known unfortunately and hence do not command a presence on social media. Kendall Jenner is a persona everyone knows and frankly she has improved a lot since her start.
She started improving in 2017 and 2019-2020 she idc what anyone says she killed w some of those looks she gives. Her walk is very on and off. Okay and other times surprisingly damn good. She had a couple notable moments as well in 2016.

By 2017, Gigi and Bella's walks had improved immensely. Kendall had a 3 year head start and her runway walk barely evolved. Even in 2020 her walk is still forgettable. It's almost like she isn't hungry for it cause she didn't have to work that hard to get it. No model who's been on the runway as much as she has should have such an average walk with little improvement after 9 years of runway experience. Something's not adding up

The fashion industry had a hard time accepting her presence and influence. To designers, she is either another coat hanger or a statement piece, she rocks both and also either one. Personally I think she looks really commercial and her walk bores me, compared to other top models (in the same show) who carry the clothes with such character, presence and grace

Good point, she's been called out for a lack of work ethic before. She doesn't do as many runway shows as other high profile models. Her runway walk has slightly improved (her movement seems less awkward) but considering how long she's been a model and her status you would expect her to be better. I mean she could hire a runway coach to improve her walk. Hell, even Tyra Banks got walking lessons early in her career and her modeling career ending up being amazing.

She doesn't seem to be that much interested in her job whatsoever! She isn't even trying. I'm pretty sure there are many girls who are trying their best to become at least half successfull as her!

And if someone from such a young age wanted to do it, it is because she likes it, and if they continue to do it is because she loves doing that and she doesn't care about comments like yours, she will continue doing what she likes and also she put a lot of interest in their work. If she was interested I'm pretty sure she would have worked hard to make that walk look at least ok. It's been 9 years, how come she didn't improve at all? Also, she cherry picks her jobs. A truly passionate model would have taken every opportunity to do her job. Linda Evangelista used to choose a new designer every season to walk for free just to support new designers. And I'm pretty sure Naomi took every single job she could take just to prove that she is at least as good as the other models (since they wouldn't hire her because of their race).

I love her expressions neutral yet still keeping her composure. I like her walk a lot it comes naturally to her. There is nothing wrong with her walk lol obviously she walks well if all these fashion houses ask her to run in their show lol
People saying she look so bored, well that's what some designers want them to look. My aunt was a model and she would always share how they're told to look like “I'm here, I'm confident, but I have better places to go” that's what they always say in their minds if their modeling, especially for clothes that are not girly-girl or not so feminine . Also, they're always reminded of how their walk should anchor to the vibe or aura of the collection. So don't expect models to walk like vs angels everytime, it doesn't work like that.
I see everyone hating on Kendall, and saying she is only successful because of her family. But I bet if you could, you would do what she has done, at least she's making the most of her family's success instead of wasting it! Sure, she's not the best supermodel, but she must have something in her that people saw, otherwise she would not be in these prestigious shows! Thanks for listening to my ted talk.

9 years of modelling experience and this is the only thing she could put on the table. unstable walk, blank face, and empty charisma. with the Hadid sisters, they improved A LOT. they know that their walks needed improvement so they actually worked hard to improve. that's professionalism and a great work ethic right there. it just shows that they respect the industry they work in and they are passionate about it. kendall, on the other hand, have shown minimal effort to improve causing her walk to be mediocre. she's not even great at editorials and even refused to do 30 shows per season. she has no respect for the modelling industry.
