I have been extremely lucky - not only did I see them right after they won the singoff - I got some signatures and a picture.. then saw them a second time (no picture and signatures just concert) and a third time during their xmas tour (kirstin was in a cast too).. which was the first time I heard Matt sing live. as much as I love avi. matt is damn good too. If anyone ever just wants to have a good time DEFINITELY go to their shows. it is well worth the ticket and even if you are not UP CLOSE they make sure to go out into the crowd through out the shows and always interact.. it is something special for sure.
For all of us with Anxiety, we can identify with this song. The 'shadow selves' walking behind them starts out going forward and they reverse and start going backwards. This is superbly shot and their emotion in their faces and voices just show how we feel when we are in an anxiety attack. 10 seconds in when Matt hits us with his first low note I got chills, and when Mitch said 'See right through me', I choke on a sob. I have seen this video over 25 times now and it still affects me.
For me this is an absolute masterpiece they are simply amazing everything they do turns to gold!!!!
Pentatonix is God showing off!!!..... thanks for this one
I've noticed that all of this group are expanding their range into their lower end, especially Mitch. Only makes a great group greater.
I have seen Pentatonix live 4x. And Home Free 3x. They are both great , and definitely worth the price of admission.😀
I was super lucky....I got 5th row center tickets to their third Chicago Christmas concert in 2018. I could see them spit and sweat. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! They really are the real deal!
I LOVE their last songs....they turn off the mikes, ask the the attendees to be quiet, and sing something just natural....just voices in a quiet auditorium .it was MAGICAL!!!!!
They are just, #Pentatonix. Their singing tell everything. I recommend you to react to "dance of the sugar plum fairy" you'll like it
I saw them in Birmingham in 2016. They were amazing. I'm not sure if it was just me, but the whole time I was stood in absolute awe and disbelief that it was actually them infront of my eyes and not through a screen. It wasn't until I got back to the car that it actually sunk in what I had just seen. It was a very overwhelming experience from start to finish. Highly recommended though.
I've seen PTX live 3 times and Superfruit live twice. It's literally the best experiences of my life🤩🤩 def go see them as soon as you can! They have concert dates in 2021!!
I've seen them once live. It was last year so I'm so glad that I got it in before this whole thing happened. And I'm just glad that I finally was living in an area they were performing
Yes, I have seen both Pentatonix and Home Free live. Pentatonix is an a capella rock show or a rock show that just happens to be a capella. Home Free is a more light-hearted show. They like to joke around more than Pentatonix. With both groups what you hear in the recordings is what you hear live. Amazing.
I saw them in Calgary, Alberta and I soooo enjoyed it! They are as good and better live. I am waiting for them to come back to Canada
This version of the song is so beautiful - Mitch looks right through me.
I saw Tears for Fears live in 1984 in Australia and still manages to be the worst concert I have ever been to. I have sent PTX twice in 2016 and Feb 2020 just before the pandemic landed. They are the two best concerts I have ever been to and I have seen heaps of bands live
Their wall of sound is soooo huge, and lifts our souls soooo high ... and then Kirstin comes in with the next line like a soft vocal pillow to cushion our fall. Genius arrangement. Thank you PTX.
They’re amazing live! They really don’t sound very different live! They had a moment where they decided they would sing “Light in the Hallway” without microphones and it blew me away!
Have seen them four times and you're right -- they NEVER disappoint!
loved that you reacted to this and heard the new favorite .... Matt and Mitch singing together and harmonizing!!!
My wife and I saw them live in Seattle on tour with Kelly Clarkson several years ago. Great show!
I've been following PTX since the sing-off,but can't afford to go to concerts. I live in Eastern Oregon and I would have to drive a long ways as well. But I do listen every day, to multiple songs, and I really enjoy your reactions, of PTX.
I played trombone in the 9th Infantry Division band, graduated from the School of Music, (Army, Navy & Marine Corp), in Virginia.
I mostly sing these days, baritone/tenor, in community choirs and am a Karaoke junkie. But I can't find enough singers that can stay on their part and are comfortable singing acapella. So I live vicariously through PTX. Keep up the energy and excitement in your videos. Love your program !!!
I've seen them live. Even more impressive in person because the sound is just as pure (even without the reverb). I'm looking forward to seeing Home Free live sometime.
I've had the privilege of 3 PTX concerts. Always professional, always perfect. Loved this video. I think I love the M&M harmonizing the best. Totally showing how far Matt has come since he joined.
Because there are none of their group scenes I assume they were separated when recording this. They are so good at putting such a complicated vocal together seamlessly. I know they want to record it in a way it will sound just as good live, but this is fantastic.
WOW - Two video in one day! Their vocals are always so impressive! Gonna definitely rewatch this later on today! This is a side note - Home Free just released their version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues! Good vibes always Gitana!!! 💙💞💙
I would love to see them cant wait till they do their next US tour I hope to get tickets.
I was looking at previous tour dates and places. I live in San Diego I don't think there was anything close to me. Not even Los Angeles. Maybe Las Vegas which I'm planning on going to in the winter because I love Las Vegas
Seen them twice. Was able to do a VIP meet and greet when Avi was still with them! They are all very sweet people.
I don't know where in Great Britain you are located, but if you want to see PTX live in concert (assuming this mad world gets back to normal), they are scheduled to perform in Manchester next June 9th and in London on June 10th.
Seen them three times, twice with Avi and once with Matt. Always a great concert.
Give Ben Bram huge kudos on putting these together during these crazy times. I remember this song from back in the 80s on our alternative radio station WHFS 99.1 FM . They played The Cure, Depeche Mode, Dead Milkman, and tons more. Their tshirts said "Feast your ears"
Yes I’ve seen them live!!
We took our boys to see them a couple of years ago here in Ohio!
It was an awesome show!
Amazing in person!
Watching you react to this is like me looking in the mirror. I’m still in awe of their talent and cleverness. 🤗
I saw them in Sydney in February. They sound exactly the same live as in the videos. It was one of the best concerts that I have seen.
Great reaction. Thanks. They are amazing.
Yes, I am hoping to see them live when they tour again here in the States. I can't wait! Songs I love, Water (Kirsten sings the lead), Run to You, Standing By (Avi takes the lead)... so many great songs! So hard to narrow them down.
It is XMAS time coming up; tee up some holiday music from Pentatonix or even Home Free. In the mean time, I think you should do 'Come Along' for Pentatonix. It is a truly bizarre original by Cosmo Sheldrake. The piece was turned into an equally weird commercial by Apple. Then Pentatonix disney-fied it and made something truly amazing.
Yes I have seen them live. The best concert I’ve ever been to!
Seen them three times. Can’t wait to see them again!
Ive seen them eight times. They get better every time b usually sing better than video. I recommend their cover of Attention. Itd my favorite and such a bip
Great reaction. I grew up listening to Tear for Fears in the 80’s . Listen to their version. It won’t disappoint. Love you from NY State ...JUDY d
I definitely want to see them in concert, great reaction, I love your honesty and passion, very enjoyable to watch your reactions.
Thank you Janet !! 💓💓💓
It is a mad world right now thank you gitana
No beatboxing. Pure vocals. Soooo cool.
I have been waiting for you to react to this song. OMG I love it so much. Love love the M&M duet( Mitch and Matt ). Thank you so much for your reaction.
Home Free just released a Johnny Cash classic! Folsom Prison Blues
Oh, and I love this too! lol
With a B1-A1-G1-E1 run by Tim.😉😉
just heard it before I came here what a song eh? really do it justice
Great reaction! Yes I have seen them live twice. I plan to see them live as many times as I can. They never disappoint live either.
they are fantastic live i saw them last year
Three thumbs up on this one.
I have not seen them live yet, but I will, hopefully next year. I'm from Europe and they were supposed to be here this March, lol. So it got post-poned to next May. If everything goes as planned I will go to four of their European shows - Budapest, Vienna, Linz and Prague. Can't wait.
Yes, I’ve seen them live in Vancouver and they sound just as good live!
Oh, god, they're amazing live. Totally at the top of my concert list every year as long as I can make it.
The song original song they released about 6 weeks ago is called happy now and it very much sums up how we all feel. I love 💘 your reactions
enjoy the Christmas tree in the background .... :)
These guys are so good!
I love how you get so antsy every time you hear Pentatonix! I can relate.
Hi Gitana, As usual, I just love your videos and I am convinced I am attached to you at the hip. I knew this song, but I didn't know why., It was cover song originally by "Tears for Fears: and done by a different artist for the movie Donnie Darko. Apparently was made popular through that movie sound track ? As you mentioned in an earlier Pentatinox video that they take a song and put their own stamp on it and I totally agree. I very often perfer their versions to the originals ? And maybe that is just me being a fan. Gitana, we love you and thank you for doing these and putting up with us . With love from Florida
I have also seen both Pentatonix and Home Free live. Both were great. Home Free was a little more audience interactive. The only issue I had with Pentatonix show was the audio set up had Kevin (beat boxer) set so high it distracted from the vocals in a lot of songs. When PTX came out at the end of the show and sang without mics - it was awesome.
I've heard this already but just wanted to see your reaction ❤
Have you seen Donnie Darko? This was featured in a very big way.
Please do when the partys over by them
Bloody amazing love it 😍 love you and your amazing channel love 💖 John xx
I went to their 2019 Christmas tour in Hershey PA. It was amazing!! I was pretty high up and back from the stage and it didn't matter cause they just sound so good! Definitely go if you have a chance. I would like to go again to any of their concerts Christmas or not. They had a large local acapella men's group group as the opening act and they were good, but Pentatonix has the blend and harmonies that are out of this world.
As for this reaction I thought the look on your face at the end with Matt's low note was priceless. Wasn't their version just haunting? I find I get it stuck in my head and have to listen to the awesomeness again. 😉
This is my first time hearing their version of this song also
I have not seen them live but will do whenever they come back to MN. VIP tickets all the way! Great reaction, and you are correct, they do not disappoint, EVER!
I've seen them. They were amazing. There are still resale tickets available for Manchester next june.... just saying. Great reaction as always!
Pentatonix and Nightwish, never disappoint.
Going to see them in London next June. Was due to have seen them earlier this year but Covid prevented it. Only 2 dates in the UK next year
No way are you old enough to remember the original first time around lol Only old dinosaurs like me remember back that far :D Btw whenever Matt is singing a lead vocal Scott takes over on bass dutie.
I was in college when this came out!
There were two original versions. It was written in 1982 and released in 1983 by TEARS FOR FEARS. In 2001, GARY JULES did a cover (for the movie, “Donnie Darko”) that was darker, slower and sadder. PTX’s version is a cover of the Gary Jules recording.
Drieux Koeppel, I haven’t heard that one or seen the movie. I listened to the Tears for Fears version, and noticed that it was faster and cheerier-sounding.
was thinking the same thing :)
Dennis Kovacich The Gary Jules cover reached #1, in 2003. The TEARS FOR FEARS original reached #3 on the UK charts. That’s why the Gary Jules cover is what most people remember. It’s amazing how different groups can interpret the same song.
I saw then live at the Tacoma Dome 7-3-19 and I met them at VIP here I delivered music to each in the band!
Great song, also a great little show. Have a beautiful day.
Great video as always...Hey PTX fam
Hey Sean !
I’ve only seen Home Free live. I’ve been wanting to see Pentatonix live. Hopefully I can once this pandemic is over!
Another great reaction! Thanks G! Please also do the new one from Voiceplay, Little Mermaid Medley. Also check out their bass singer, Geoff’s version of Blackbird. Both are incredible!
great song for the time.
such a great song, this makes a great acapella cover
I have seen them live once. Unfortunately, I think the sound system where I was couldn’t handle them very well and didn’t do them as much justice as I would have liked. They are always fantastic.
Pentatonix have released Dreams originally by The Cranberries
YES! good work Gi intro under 2mins AWESOME.
yes back when AVI was still with them. I have AVI tickets on my fridge for a show that was canceled in june. AVI sent his album on vinyl signed by him for those who couldnt get refunds due to the pandemic. Home free is awesome live!
That was awesome of him! I'll have to add him to my list to see live if he comes near home.
Great video as always. PMJ did this song with Haley Rinehart and Puddles Pitty Party. It's worth checking out.
Been a while since you did more PTX, Thank you!!
Great reaction you need to check out their new song Be My Eyes, absolutely amazing song 👍👍👍
Vocal geniuses...INDEED!!!
Another fabulous reaction @Gitana! Check out Home Frees version of Folsom Prison Blues.
Would love to see them too!❤️
What? No themed cushions this time? I agree, they never disappoint! It’s interesting f what they can do by combining the 5 great voices. This time the Match (Matt + Mitch) combo was exceptional. I can only imagine what they could do if they chose to introduce the multitude of instruments they play into the mix. When you are ready to try their individual channels, I recommend “Sign of the times” by Kevin, “Somewhere over the rainbow” by Kirstin, Scott on the piano in “All of me” and anything by Superfruit (Scott + Mitch) for a start. By the way, I hope you realise you’ll never catch up with PTX: they already have all this material done and they are really prolific so they will continue to outpace you. I’ve been on my PTX journey since 2016 and I haven’t caught up! Love your reactions and lots of love from South Africa where it’s 01:07 right now and I’m on PTX reactions on CZcams. I need help!
Lol, I'm East Coast USA and I've been there done that, with headphones so you don't wake anyone up. 🙂 Hope you get some sleep.
Sharon S I did thanks. At 03:10! There were new reactions posted which I just had to see!
Lol. I wasn't much better last night. 🙂 I was wide awake for quite awhile. I listened to Mad World quite a few times.
now you are giving her reasons (excuses) to buy more cushions:)
Hello Gitana, I'm running out of great things to say about Pentatonics, just WOW!
Mad World - Gary Jules & Michael Andrews (Official Music Video ) Pentatonix’s Mad World is very good.
You should definitely check out pentatonix sound of silence
I think she did that one already, check her channel.
@@mamajenkins1981 ahh yeah true thanks
Knowing how much you like Country please react to The Chicks Travelin' Soldier please :)
Have you reacted to the other new songs “Dreams” & also “Be my eyes”? Be my eyes is an original & Kirsten takes the lead & might of wrote it too. Love those as well as this one
did you notice after the mad world section all the shadows behind them were going backwards ?
I have seen them in concert, unfortunately the acoustics were terrible. They were still amazing. Their stage for the tour was incredible. I can't wait to hear them with great acoustics.
What? The first half of the song their shadows are leaving their bodies, and then returning the second half of the song . Alternative reality or maybe alter-egos? Maybe I'm reading to much into this. Circles? It is really a mad world .
👏👏
Check out five finger death punch "wrong side of heaven "
Check out Say Something by them. I LOVE it.
It's an acapella group rockers won't mind listening to
I told you months ago that you should listen to Puddles Pity Party singing this, with Haley Reinhart. Why won't you listen to me..? He also does some great Johnny Cash tunes, especially his Folsom County/Pinball Wizzard smoooosh up....!
The funny thing is they aren’t covering the original Tear for Fears version, they are covering Gary Jules version.
HI GITANA, DO YOU HAVE A LIST OF ALL THE PTX REACTIONS I CAN GO TO. THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL, BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THE ENERGY YOU HAVE IN YOUR REACTIONS TO PTX. THANKS, BILL
