  • A new mythical Pokemon named Zarude has just been revealed for Pokemon Sword and Shield in celebration of Pokemon Day. This mythical is a Dark/Grass type, and will also be featuring in the new Pokemon the Movie: Coco. After doing some research, I believe I have found the origin of this Pokemon's design, and even have a theory on its possible lore within the Galar Region!

    One thing I forgot to mention: both Zacian and Zamazenta have types that are strong against Zarude as a dark type (fairy and fighting), which strengthens the idea even more that they could have been needed to keep it in line in the past.

      Just a detail... the vines on its arms look and act like chains...it seems to unravel when it comes out of the pokeball. Maybe the grass typing is a tying down this mythical....similarly to how the legendaries dont get their second typing till its wearing its armor. I could be wrong but it's an interesting detail.

      In my opinion, "the rude green" makes no sense because the phrase should be literally translated in japanese, just like they did with Zacian and Zamazenta, so we should have "Za rude guriin".
      It could more probably be a (lucky) union between Zaru and Verde, and with this part you said in the video I can agree, which being translated in japanese literally becomes "beRUDE", so Zaru (monkey) + berude = Zarude.
      Or maybe a mix between all the things you said in the video and what i said here, who knows?
      This is the best part about Pokémon, isn't it?
      (Btw i just wanna discute not argue with anyone)

      Wat about calyrex ? Do you think zarude is the current king of galar with both champions zamenta and zacian. And calyrex was the king before and his champions are the two forms (urshifu) i hope i spell it right. I think calyrex lost the war and left with urshifu. Like the pokedex says calyrex is delicate and zarude is rude. I think there was a war between them.

    I feel like Zarude definitely has some connection with the grookey line. Like, 2 Grass type monkey pokemon in one region? That, along with the fact that it is fighting Rillaboom, and the mask that kind of looks like Thwackey's mask. Perhaps they are grookey that were shunned into the deep jungle and became extremely powerful?

      Nacho Jar Studios Many people find Grookey’s line to be the most attractive. Intelleon is pretty ugly and Cinderace is bland looking. Rillaboom wins out. In the anime it looks like Ash will have a grookey, it’s because it looks the least offensive and Pokémon knows what’s favored more pretty fast. Why do you think Sceptile and Blaziken were featured more in the anime than Swampert? They’ve got more sleekness and cool attack styles than Swampert. That’s why Frenzy Plant and Blast Burn are used more than Hydro Cannon too. I don’t believe Grookey will get that much focus like the main comment said, but I’m just pointing out that it could because of its better standing.

Out of the bulky grass starters Venusaur wins because it’s a classic, it’s nostalgic but how ugly it looks makes me like it more, it’s also good competitively. In the Pokémon Adventures Manga the roles are switched, Red has Venusaur and Green has Charizard, Venusaur wins through a clever strategy. I think grass types are thought more highly of than you realize. So many people are now in Venusaur’s corner due to sympathy and gradually starting to genuinely like it, that’s how I started liking it.

    Seeing as Zarude is shown using Vine Whip in the trailer, either its not getting a signature move (which would be weird, because the last mythical that didn’t have a signature move was Phione, which was introduced years ago) or it’s signature move will be revealed later.

  • @professoroak7545
    @professoroak7545 Před 4 lety

    Im interested to see how it turns out. Its vines are supposed to have healing properties however its dark/grass type and physically it looks more like a fast hard hitter then a bulky mon which would be a horrible stat range for a self sustaining healer so unless its signature move is either a draining move or a stat buffing move with an additional healing over time effect I dont see it working.

    Two things I was noticing. 1 being the fact in the trailer we see Zacian and Zamazenta going back to back to fight something that seems to be in the trees. Either one or maybe a group?
    Another thing is it could be reletated to the Spring Heeled Jack. Which was a cryptid around London (I believe) and resembled a man that could jump with unnatural power and skill. So where it's a bit harder to draw a link to that it could be a inspiration design wise
