Good night. One question Peter, to hunt what weight of arrow would you use and with that power of 45 pounds, the 10-grain of GPI, or the 12-grain of GPI? Thank you.

It of course depends on what size animal you want to hunt. Personally my setups are more 12 gpp, than they are 10 gpp. But I’ll go with what ever shoots best for you

    Hello Peter
I thinking about switching my Setup from Easton Axis to Blackeagle, maybe the Instinct. As a Bowhunter with a lot more Experience than me , what would you say? Make it sense?
I like your calm and reflected Content , without the All the Hype!
Thanx for sharing and cuddle Thor
    Have a nice Weekend!👍🙋‍♂️

Thank you. Well I know the Axis and I know the Black Eagle X-impact. But I dont know the Instinct. So I cant tell if its a good switch. I think they are all Great shafts, so why not?

I believe that the Instinct is a "trad" version of the deep impact, so it's a smaller diameter shaft than the axis. It's a full outsert shaft. Having shot all 3 shafts, I can say the instinct would be my choice, assuming you can get them to tune properly. The stiffest spine they come in is 350, so if you shoot a heavier weight and/or have a longer draw it can be a challenge to tune them given that the outsert is 100 grains. All that said, they are super tough and penetrate amzingly well. Black Eagle also does a great job with the fletching and cresting on their arrows...if you're not into doing it yourself.

@@jonbrown9490 thank you for the answer!
So , i have to give the Blackeagle shafts a chance, if they are available in 340 here in Germany...
By the way , my bows are around 53-59 lbs @29,5"
      Greetings from lower saxony

@@michaelh.weiser6502 No problem, I hope it helps. If they come out a tad weak you can build up the strike plate a little as well, but I think you'll probably be fine with a 350 spine and a decent point weight. You do need to cut them .75" longer as the outsert goes over the shaft, but it acts as a footer so it doesn't really change the spine.
Personally, I like to cut them long and use hot melt to glue on the outsert. Then you can just pull the outsert off and cut down as needed ( it's actually much easier then doing the same thing with an insert).
For reference, I was shooting a Palmer trad slam recurve 60lb@29" with a 30" draw, shafts cut 30" to the outsert with a 150 grain point.

I would've gotten 200 fps with that setup....I'm 6'6 with 32" draw, you need your arms lengthened 😉😁

Yeah I think you are right😂 monkey arms are an advantage

I was expecting close to 200 fps with your setup. I don't have a chronograph but 3 rivers archery uses a shooting machine using 10 grains per pound and 8 gr per lb. Iv seen standard recurve limbs get that kind of speeds at 28 inch draw. I wonder if 3 rivers archery chronograph is working properly??. Those limbs you have ,, have aggressive hooks on them!!!

There is a difference in 8 gpp and 10 gpp. I have also dampers on the string and my string is 16 strands. My drawlenght is not 28, but more like 27,5
Its not as fantastic as many thinks, these numbers are realistic
