    I think that machine is going to come in handy. You can use it to test a lot of equipment and configurations. I enjoyed hearing all the birds in the background. Great video! Thank you 😊.

    Your Hooter Shooter works perfect. Nicely done He is probably a lot cheaper than the original.

    Another experiment that would be great: fast flight string vs non-ff. What is the difference in speed?

      Thanks! Now I have made this “machine” so it’s easy to test bows at the same terms

    Hey, Peter. Now that you have this dandy machine, could you experiment with finding arrow velocity at different distances? See how fast the arrow is flying at 10, 20, 30, 40 meters. It would be good to see how speed and energy decreases over distance. Thanks for all that you do. I will say again, you are the greatest hunter and archer on CZcams!

      Yes in the future I´ll look at different experiments

    Good Job! Finger release is usually slower then a release so you may be drawing a little more to get same speed as release. That will be something you can test and make another video on. Keep them coming. Darren

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 2 lety

      Agreed! The better you are, the higher speed with fingers.

    What is that, that you use to wrap around the string to protect the part where to string slaps the belly of the bow?

    Love Max6. Marked 45@31 on a 21, mine are 43@31 on my 19 Satori. 495gr gets me 187, and my 571gr go 176.
    Enough for me..

    Very informative video as usual peter thanks for sharing, what poundage bow do you usually use for hunting

  • @bugsbunny9334
    @bugsbunny9334 Před 10 měsíci

    Do the Max 6 limbs, or other super recurves, really differ THAT much from a regular recurve? Everyone is saying its not a crisp release and that its a huge change from regular traditional bows. I dont have one to test before buying, just trying to find opinions on it.

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 10 měsíci

      They are around 10-12 fps faster. But speed aint everything. I dont have the Max 6 anymore, because I couldent get used to the spungy back at full draw. I feel I have a cleaner release with more regular profile limbs

      @@peterjuulsgaard Thanks! Im trying to find a short setup with a 13" VPA riser with slightly less strain on my shoulders, without sacrificing too much velocity on 550g arrows.

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 10 měsíci

      @bugsbunny9334 you can of course gain the same speed with lower poundage with some super curve limbs.

  • @Kurtdog63
    @Kurtdog63 Před 2 lety +1

    It will wind up faster if you put a lot more string on it. I know this from using bait casting fishing reels.

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 2 lety +1

      Correct, but also more difficult to hit the exact drawlenght on the toth wheel

      Yes. That makes sense. Amazing speeds for those heavy arrows.

    I wonder what it would do with your hooter shooter At my draw length of 32"

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před rokem

      It would go way past the 200 fps with a 600 grain arrow

  • @WaynesGoneWild
    @WaynesGoneWild Před 2 lety +1

    Interesting video. So with a 673 grain arrow - 162 fps @27,5" you are getting about 53 Joules of KE. Nice. A separate question, what knife is it that you are wearing? Thanks

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes correct about the joules. The knife is a handmade knife I won 20 years ago at the Danish Bowhunter association annual meeting. Unfortunately the knifemaker has past on to the eternal hunting grounds several years ago. The knife is short with a katana tip. I like it. Thanks for watching

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! No I didn’t say anything about that. The bow is around 50-51@28 but I dont have a pound scale yet, so I can’t guarantee exact poundage. When I got one I’ll make a 10 gpp test with the bow again. Stay tuned

    Will you use the machine to tune your arrows?

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Před 2 lety

      You cant use the machine to tune arrows, unless you are shooting with a release aid when you are shooting. With finger release the arrows behave completely different
