- Water Color Cake Design for Fondant Cake
In this birthday cake, I just made a simple cake design thru painting fondant with royal icing to achieve a watercolor effect.
I have my cake covered with white fondant.
*To start, just add small amounts of royal icing to your painting palette and color each how ever you like. Here, I just wanted to use pastel colors so I add just a little food color.
*Add few drops of water to adjust your icing consistency or to make it thinner.
Note:
If you noticed, my purple is kinda darker opposed to the pastel color I wanted, that was because I painted directly without even testing it.
My suggestion: get a piece of fondant to try on & see how it's gonna look like before applying/painting to the actual cake.
Feel free to experiment and express your creativity.
