  • The new 2018 Mazda6 Signature brings a new level of sophistication to Mazda's mid-size sedan. Price as tested: $36,140 including destination. In this review we test the 0-60 time, check the brakes, kick the tires (metaphorically) and try out all the new and updated features. Engine is a 2.5-liter turbo (227hp, 310tq) with a 6-speed automatic powering the front wheels.

    First, the Mazda 6 2018 Signature has EVERYTHING the Cadillac CT6 has for less cost....$52000 less! The one untruth is the mpg in the city. I get only 19 mpg because of the turbo.

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 6 lety +1

      It is probably the worst in the class (we haven't tested a base model Camry, and not sure if that's the same or not as the XLE we recently tested, so we can't be absolutely certain about that.) Still, it works and it does have cross-traffic alerts so it does the job.

      xanvavy you obviously haven't driven either one. I've had so many customer where they bought a mazda 6 and the car breaks down in 48 hours 1 week 1 month etc. So unreliable and they depreciate horribly.

    • @xanvavy
      @xanvavy Před 6 lety +18

      @@bryceporterfield6159 yeah right! My wife had a 2015 mazda 6 GT that she leased for two years then I purshased the 2016 Mazda 6 GT here in the states. I drove My wifes 6 from Alberta, Canada to Windermere, Florida with no problems at all. Her car had over 80,000.00 miles and mine has 58,000.00.Your claim is not valid. The only reason we leased the 2015 mazda 6 in Canada was because we were there on a work contract. You sound like a car salesman. A broke car salesman. The mazda 6 is a well balanced car unlike the Camry and the Accord. Ive had Hondas as well as Toyotas. They are both reliable but their design is outdated. That new red interior inside Camrys top trim is hideous. The front end looks like they took it off a UFO. I cant deal with the fake vents they've placed on the body kit....is just cheap. The only thing that the camry has going is the engine. When it comes to the Accord; look at the ugly front end! it looks like a flat nose. The car looks outdated as well. The tail lights were also taken off a UFO and it has a flat ass. The inside hasn't age well and the only thing it has going is the engine; which again states that neither the Accord or Camry are well balanced cars. You know for a fact that you do not have any clients that did what your claiming, so stop making stuff up. Is pathetic! You are like a playstation owner talking crap about xbox so grow up!

    I'm not happy that, to get the added features, you have to get a more expensive engine that uses more gas. They should offer it in both turbo (as they used to in the Speed versions) and naturally-aspirated.

    In the end, is the upgraded/uprated trims really worth the extra coin?...Sport v GT; Touring v Reserve/Signature?...Do the new interior appointments (and new turbo engine) elevate the ownership experience (enough) despite all having the same infotainment systems and same auto trans (Sport has 6spg manual)...is there enough diff in the 20% that changes btwn the trims to go to the next trim?...I'm a manual guy, so Sport trim for me (wish they kept it in the Touring) so I won't get much choice (currently have a cx-5)...Accord sport 1.5t or Civic Si?

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 6 lety

      If you want the advanced safety stuff the Mazda6 GT is a good value. However, the Accord Manual should be driven before making a decision. (We haven’t driven it yet - so cannot day if it’s a better choice.)

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 6 lety +1

      One that takes into account that the person posting the question did not define much about what they wanted. If you have no interest in nav/leather etc., the upgraded interiors are pointless. If they're important to what you want in a car... yeah, kind of important.

    • @thevoxdeus
      @thevoxdeus Před 6 lety +1

      As far as whether the higher trims are worth it, that really depends on how you value those things. Personally I wouldn't buy anything less than the GT, and I personally don't need Nappa leather, low resolution 360 camera, Sen wood, ultrasuede, frameless rear view camera, and gunmetal trim enough to pay for the Signature, but I like enough of the added features from the GT to the GT Reserve to justify the 2.5k extra price.
      If you absolutely need a manual transmission and you want to pair it up with a sporty engine, the Accord is really your best (only?) option.

    0-60 is 6.5 sec according to Car & Driver Magazine

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 6 lety +4

      Not all 0-60 tests are the same. Car and Driver's 0-60 uses a 1-foot rollout (as do some other publications) before they start the watch and they also adjust based on environmental factors. As you can see on our video, we start the timer the moment the foot hits the floor and what you see is what you get. We believe our "foot to floor" methodology is a more accurate representation of real-world 0-60 since it takes into account transmission power transfer and tire grip limits, whereas the C&D test is much more forgiving about that. C&D should call their test 1-60.

    Mazda really needs to work on their infotainment system and gauges. The Accord has the best in the market. The 7" digital gauge cluster let's you put your navigation, audio and phone info right in front of you and it also pops up on the HUD. Accord 2.0T is the best midsize sedan in the market.

      Amjad Sharif, respectfully disagree. I drove a CX3 for a year and that was too firm/stiff for me due to the torsion rears and couldn’t soak up bumps and was just jarring! After almost a year I got rid of it and instead got the 2019 6...way better handling car with ind rears and more quiet, luxurious feel and can soak up potholes easily! And I live in Cda...
