Maaaaaaan! This was my mall! I used to live in Eagle Rock in the 90's and 2000's. LOTS of great memories here. A lot of my time was spent at this mall, specifically at The Wherehouse, Bob's and the theater (until they all closed). My sister used to work at Contempo. Little by little this mall was dying. Now, the second you walk into it, you're welcomed to the stench of fish. It's crazy to see what happened to this once great mall. Thank you for making this video and telling the history of this mall. I work at the movie theater. In the mid 80’s best nachos at casa Escobar . I still live two miles from the Eagle rock plaza . Love your video. I will always tell my kids nothing ever happens in Eagle Rock.
I lived and grew up in Burbank in the 1970’s and 1980’s. My mom preferred Eagle Rock Plaza over the Glendale Galleria, as it was so much smaller and easier to walk than the GG. I distinctly remember there was a Jolly Roger’s restaurant, then Casa Escobar moved into the spot. Our family loved Casa Escobar for lunch while shopping. The mall was always busy in those days, by the late 80’s, it was pretty much forgotten over the huge and massive GG. It became such a sad ghost town.
Growing up in S Glendale in the 80s, the ER plaza was closer to me than the Galleria, so me and my friends would often hang here. Wasn’t as good as the Galleria, but still had the essentials. Saw all the movies here. There was a Vans store here in the 80s too, always got my shoes there. I remember when the Cabbage Patch kids craze was on, my mom stood in line at the Wards here to get one for my sister. Across the street was Ernie Jr taco house, best Mexican food.
I worked as a concierge there in 2004-2005 when Westfield owned the mall. It was pretty dead then and not a lot of foot traffic during the week day. Not a lot of national chains but mom and pop places that seemed to be struggling. Jollibee, seafood City and Chuck E Cheese came in after I left. It was fun to see the Glee episode with Artie that was filmed there. The also another Glee video the Rachel where they sang "Barbra Streisand." Keep your videos coming. Have you done one on Buenaventura Plaza/Pacificview Mall in Ventura?

Did you ever go to El Riviera Club off of Colorado and Figueroa? It's where the CVS is now.

Last I was there, this mall was actually doing okay.
Anyone know or speculate the future of this mall?
I enjoy your Videos! Can you do Stonewood Center, Beverly Center and Broadway Plaza in DTLA? Those were the malls I would frequent as a Kid😂😂😂
Of course! Stonewood Center and the Beverly Center are coming soon!
Sold shoes @MayCo circa early 80s😅
I NEVER knew about this Montgomery Ward’s store here at this mall because I was NOT born when that store closed.
