Dr Kaku made a confusion between life expectancy and live survival. Those who passed the infancy would live to 70 to 90. Life expectancy of my grandfather and my father's family was 25 y (their brothers died in the first years of life) but their survivability was 96 y. So when people say that because of increased expectancy of life, people have to work more and retire later, it's stupid. It's completely the opposite. Because of increased expectancy of life the working force has almost quadruple and so people can work less and retire sonner. And we haven't talked about the new methods of production factor in increasing the capacity of that working force.
Dr. Kaku almost has it correct! But as with organisms the ability to acquire a mate and reproduce is only possible IF basic needs are first met. It is surplus energy that produces all wealth.
