ARR is from Tamil Nadu, so you can expect most of his work to be in Tamil and one general rule you can use when reacting to ARR's songs, more often than not they are going to be 'Tamil songs' and a few hindi versions his famous Tamil songs.
Tamil songs are very popular amongst malayalis and hence why you can find lot of malayalam bands covering Tamil songs.

Barefeet is how people are indoors most times in India and many parts of South and South East Asia. Even outside, in agricultural fields, artisans workshops, temples etc, footwear is off. The idea of the footwear is to keep your feet protected from dirt and filth, therefore when you enter a clean space, you leave your footwear outside and in traditional homes and temples, there is even a tap or some water source to wash your feet before you enter.

In India ..music is like a worship ( at least classical) so when you go to a studio it's same as entering a temple so out of respect and for hygienic reasons people do not wear foot-wears which used for outdoor use.

Home, School(traditional Indian ones), musical stages(when you perform classical indian music) all are considered sacred and hence barefoot in these places. It is disrepectful for us in South India to wear footwear and perform some of the rituals like offering salutations to elders, blessing youngsters, eating food, saying prayers etc.

Tbh it’s more like Japan but not completely some people wear slipper and some households don’t in my friends house they wear home slippers but in my house we are barefoot I think most Indian households don’t wear shoes or slippers inside house it’s pretty common being barefoot .we as people are more grounded I mean literally😂 we sit on floor more often ,we eat with our hands it’s just our culture . i think there some deep theories about it like it helps you connect with ur body etc

Why do Indians have their feet out most of the time? You guessed the two main reasons - 1) it's a hot country and 2) we are not allowed to wear footwear inside religious places. So, entering a place (religious or not) barefoot is a sign of respect. Not that you would be disrespecting someone if you did not take off your shoes entering their house.
In India, we wear slippers inside the house. In some households, shoes from the outside are not allowed inside to keep the house clean. It's also common for people to leave their shoes right at the entrance and enter someone else's house barefoot. Nothing is set in stone. Every household has its own rules. Sometimes you take off your shoes, sometimes you don't.
In fact, wearing shoes inside the house sounds ridiculous to me..hahaha...slippers are so convenient. You can easily slip in and out of them. I am from the north of India and even during winter, we do not wear shoes. We will have our warm socks on and wear slippers.
Also, not wearing shoes (unless it is cold) and eating with our hands should be the most natural thing for most of us around the world.

Shoes carry outside dirt, dust and germs.
Home is temple, so is music class etc so we always remove slipper outside home, and are clean bare foot inside home. When someone comes from outside, he removes his slipper out, washes his feet and then come in. It's same in Japan, south korea etc. They also adopted the culture of incents, prayers, removing shoes, swastika etc from india when Hinduism, Buddhism went from india to these countries

    1. Any kind of footwear is not allowed inside Indian homes (the exception is the north in winters). Everyone is required to leave them outside at a designated place.
    2. Whenever you see someone without slippers performing something, usually that's because they respect the art. This stance is clearer when singing classical songs or performing religious duties (including singing and dancing).
    3. Touching the feet of someone else is a sign of respect and to seek blessings.
    4. Generally, facing someone with your feet (especially with shoes on) towards them is frowned upon.

The purpose of shoes is to keep dirt out of your feet and walking comfortably outside. In India, you have to keep your shoes out at the entrance then enter the house barefooted. It's a very common practice that's been going on since the beginning. And to every sacred place (temples, workplaces, stages, etc) people go barefooted. It's a general practice but with time everything is getting modified to people's convenience. So, now temple is the only place where taking off your shoes is mandatory, school and workplace works according to the authorities regulations (sometimes you're asked to take off your shoes in certain places mainly because of hygienic purposes), and on stage or studios it isn't mandatory to be barefooted but people do it out of respect and to preserve that work culture. In home, it varies from household to household.. Some are strict with no shoes allowed policy, others are ok using house-slippers but one thing for sure you can't use your "outside shoes" inside the house..
Walking barefooted is same as eating with your hands.. It connects you with your surrounding/nature.

Removing the shoes/slippers is respectful. They are mostly protective wear rather than costume. You remove them before entering home/temple coz they are sacred grounds. If you think someplace or situation is sacred, you remove shoes in India. If you're worried about hygiene, idea is to keep your entire place clean.
