WarioWare Twisted vs WarioWare Gold Microgame comparison.

- Almost a CHANGES video, but not quite.
WarioWare Gold was released very recently and I took the time to research previous games and see which ones got reused for 3DS Gold.
There were roughly 70 Microgames that originally came from WarioWare Twisted.
For boss stages I sometimes show all 3 levels of the same microgame at once to speed up the entire video. GBA version of Nose Dive is stupidly long.
There were 2 Microgames that I counted as honourable mentions because they were not directly reused as the others but it had a little nod here and there.
Duck Hunt, for example, was featured in the very first WarioWare game as that incarnation involved pressing the A button at the right time to take down a duck.
I noticed that Duck Hunt (Twisted) and Laser Pointer (Gold) share identical controls and perspective.
Rays the Devil is another example as the 3DS counterpart which is known as A Moment of Reflection (a game from Smooth Moves) both have identical 1st levels (and input feel when playing Reflection on 3DS)
But level 2 for GBA had a moving devil and level 3 had to deal with 2 moving devils, whereas level 2 for 3DS had to deal with 2 reflections to hit an idle alien and level 3 had to deal with 2 reflections to hit a moving alien.
There was a last minute cut as I initially thought Wario Mambo (Twisted) had something in common with Wario Dance Company (Gold) but I found out that Wario Dance Company (Gold) was featured in an older game: WarioWare Smooth Moves where both versions play as a purple character.

1) Gamer is a mode, not a microgame which my videos are focusing on. Yes there is only 1 (or 2 if you count Gold Digger) Microgame(s) that ended up being reused in Gold. I am also aware that the microgames you play are completely different too.
2) I do not have a Wii U gamepad which supports direct video output. Gamer is a mode that needs to show both screens.

Charles Martinet nailed his voicework in Gold but I have so much nostalgia for those old Wario sounds from the Gameboy.
I happen to really like the voice acting in this game... Except for Orbulon. I missed his old voice from the first few games. It was eerie and you couldn't understand what he was saying, which actually made him feel like an alien. In smooth moves and DIY, they actually made him speak English which kind of ruined it a little. In this game, his voice is almost screechy.

When you think about it, Wario was arguably the most evil in this game out of all the WarioWare games, and yet he got the tamest punishment he has got. He still walks out of the whole thing with 10,000 coins, and that's only because everyone was nice enough to let him keep 10,000 coins.

A neat thing I like about gold is it's new attention to detail, for example: 2:42 in GBA's Picky Eater, the main character you control is the only one with floating hands while everyone else that obscures your view of the other sushi has full arms, but in the Gold version of the microgame, 3:06 the main character you control and the characters that obscure your view also all have floating hands which is really cool to me.

@@ItDaBiz in most occasions you have to crack it to properly play it. I know there is a way to play without cracking but thats advanced method

I played Twisted and Gold and i didn't notice that the guy in Self-defense from twisted is the same guy in gold just grew old. Man the details of this game is perfect

This one as the first video of the series only took a few days. I browsed the wiki and took notes on reused Microgames based on various screenshots/videos. So by the time Gold actually came out, I already had 90% of GBA Twisted footage. Then by putting them in alphabetical order it was quite quick.
I am working on Majora's Mask N64 vs 3DS Changes video which has a lot of stuff to cover that isn't graphics/sound, it should be out and ready by April 27th.

I need to hunt down a copy of the Original GBA Inc because the official 3DS Ambassador release has a dark filter.

the beanmaster only applies to N64 and NES this was done to reduce seizure risk, though for GBA is because most games use bright colors to compensate the dim screen of the GBA and frontlit SP it was done to make easier to the eyes which makes sense
Though in my opinion some GBA games look bland without the dark filter like Golden Sun
What confuses me the most is no WarioWare Twisted on the Wii U VC despite the Wii U being capable of motion tilting

Maybe just the music starts slower in some of them so it's still recognizable at the higher speeds?
If they're actually slower it's probably because they would be way too difficult to do in the Ultra Leagues, atleast in Twisted! you'd be expecting to use the gyro controls all the time
@@mystari4445 Oh I sped the Gold games to 1.25x speed and they pretty much match the speed of the original GBA versions of said games at normal 1.00x speed. They ARE slower on Gold initially

I completely agree.. Its way too clean. I just want all of them in an untouched collection. I really wanted this to be good, thought id buy it.. Now I have second thoughts.
It's still one of the best WarioWare games and I don't regret buying it at all if you can look past the art style

You haven't played the game. Gold has pretty much the same amount of shitty 3d microgames and weirdness.

"Burying the Hatchet" was always one of my favourite microgames from Twisted and I was happy to see it return.
Though, you should've compared what happens when you lose, since it's quite a bit different. Probably due to the much slower speed. I loved how the old losing animation basically said "All is lost!".
Also, have you noticed how in the new one Mario has one blue sleeve for some reason? How did they mess that up?
I don't get why they didn't just make Peek-a-boo-boo a Fronk microgame again. It's much longer now, but not any more challenging.
"Cutting it Close", among a few others, don't have their extended background music during the Wario Watch stages, which is really annoying.
I'm not happy with how Tiptoe Titan controls on the 3DS. Sometimes he moves faster than you tilt, sometimes slower... On the GBA it was 1 to 1.

Put your 3ds family system (or gba if you are playing twisted) on a table and leave it there for the whole microgame (if it's a 3ds family system there is a chance of it changing so he ready for it)

For the second honorable mention (A Moment of Reflection), going be the reuse of the music, that's from Smooth Moves, after doing some research, it's even called the same in said game.

In the Focus pocus microgame 3ds version, the third picture shows those guys from that tickle microgame in warioware touched or diy. I think.
In Fragile if you crack the egg on Twisted the cracks look like Wario's Mustache but on the Gold version for the 3DS they made it look like normal cracks.
I really like that little tune before the minigames on Gold.

By the look of the twisting input.. I'm guess you were able to record the game by actual tilt controls than the emulator button inputs. :0

@@baalfgames5318 Depends what device. If PC, Virtual Boy Advance is an option. But the ROM needs to be patched to use Dpad and B button since no gyro on PC.
If Smartphone, the settings are built in. Android store has emus. If its Apple, gotta jailbreak it.
