This channel is mostly focused on speed running that includes tricks, glitches, individual levels or full game runs. The console games are recorded from a DVD recorder while the DS console is modded to support USB video output. The videos that say TAS means it is a Tools Assisted Speedrun/Superplay showing gameplay that usually surpass human limits. Tetris DS is a good example of a speedy TAS.

This video showcases me completing the game in under 30 minutes.
The game is still fairly young as the route/power-up choices and upgrades are not finalised yet. But on the flipside if you want to run a newish game within a short time, this game could be it but you do need to grind a bit.
NG+ runs are doable after beating the game 5 times to unlock powerful perks from the Soul Beast gems menus.
This run uses non-RNG power-ups thanks to the custom skillset menu which allows guaranteed power-ups but you're forced to transform into humanoid after 5th death, this means deaths 6-8 will be longer than a RNG reliant run where you can resist transformation to have 1 HP for lives 6-8.
Power-ups in order
1st death = Cheetah
2nd death = Crow
3rd death = Tiger
4th death = Lion
5th death = humanoid transformation (cannot resist)
6th death = Sabretooth
7th death = Snake
8th death = Whale (full screen)
9th death = Novem/"Prevasion moths"
Most of the stages are linear but the 1st northern stage that has ice, etc is one of the few non-linear parts in the game as it's not strictly going through the stage in a single direction, some parts it's faster to go to the right side, etc.
Chapter 2's "water" stage and final chapter have some rooms that are randomised per playthrough.

Sooo...how does the ending change if you let Kuon go into her humanoid form and manage to not lose any memories of her owner?
If you touch all 20 big crystals in a single playthrough then finish the final chapter as humanoid for a slightly different yet light hearted ending.

Yep the entire run is faster than my first playthrough attempt of Feline Kuon taking out nearly every boss. Go figure :p
How did you like the game personally? Definitely my favorite buy of the year... I LOVE IT!! I would enjoy seeing a second, or even another similar entry that is more fleshed out; maybe even with more optional endings -- imagine a pacifist run??

ITs kinda a shame you cant inhale the enemies' abilities as you would in OG Kirby or in this game with the fighters in general. Especially with enemies like Plasma Wisp

They made it easier because people don’t like to be challenged anymore. Now it sucks.
Having a level select is great for IL practice. So accessibilty is always a good thing.

If you trigger the ending whilst on climbable ivy, the cat will spin around like crazy when talking to the crow outside.

It looks like the Dreamcast had way better graphics at the time, but the game was relatively rushed compared to the GC version. Playtesting definitely improved little details like textures, rings and enemy placements

By skipping the hunt to find shinies, the reset count went down significantly from 20k resets to just a single digit. Oh this isn't Pokémon.
I saw another speed runner jump on the bike and onto the van, instead of going through the artists' yard at the start. Might cut a bit more time off. Overall, I am impressed.
@@carl4964 There's quite a lot of time savers after watching the fastest route. Crow can be skipped completely and only 2 fish is the lowest amount required to beat the game.

Whoa! This seems like an ambitious project, especially given DKC2 GBA doesn't have mapping tools as far as I'm aware. I'm guessing this involved a lot of manual exploration of GBA levels?
Yes, I looked up on DKC Atlas whilst playing the GBA version and made screenshots + comments on each difference for reference when producing higher quality recordings.

I had a brief look at that one. The level design part will be a bit longer to produce as DKC Atlas, a top source for maps isn't completed as many of them don't show all assets. In other words, the research phase will be longer.
My youtube studios counter does say 35,000 right now (inb4 drops for whatever reason). The length seems to be a 2-3 hour long video at the moment.
