Anybody else go to shows and watch the drummers 90% of the time?!?!?!?
All the time - only it's probably closer to 99% for me haha. I truly get lost watching drummers
Yes. 🤘
Absolutely. Especially when the drummer kicks ass. I could to watch Jon Rice for 100 years!
I do but isn't that just a thing that fellow drummers do?
@@naean7518 nope I'm a guitarist and I watch death metal drimmers the whole time I'm there, during the encore I'll be fuck I missed alexi Laiho
Regardless of what genres you're into, if you're a drummer you have to admit how much of an incredible player this man is...
Not quite my tempo..
Genres has nothing to do with you your philosophy, go back & read another book, go and pick new album from madonna to keep you company while your drumming
@@squirtmph ...and YOU should go back to school and learn grammar, punctuation and spelling.
@@Blackestblack666 you should go and play album record for something more appealing to your self. Than I would do as you suggested...
@@squirtmph again...your comment makes no sense. So, whatever, dough head.
He drums so effortlessly it looks like he’s thinking about what he’s gonna have for dinner
Yeah. The soul of everyone in the audience
@@RubberyOatmeal haha
And keep in mind that Inferno is an absolute machine behind those drums so he has big shoes to fill there
The blood of virgins (if the song has anything to say)
Because this song is not so difficult to play on drum.
jesus christ
oh yurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhh
66Samus make this drum cover please! Haha
Wrong! Is Jon Rice!
66Samus drum cover of this song pls!
66Samus You rang?
I use the same shoes! There's hope for me in my drumming career!
ZimzeLimze flat skater style shoes are great for drumming.
ZimzeLimze shoes has nothing to do with your drumming.
I'm sorry i didn't clarify the joke for you
But imo, i think. I find it harder drumming with my dr. marten boots instead of my fresh new vans old skool mofo shoes.
I use either my old checkerboard vans slip ons or a pair of Pumas that look like racing shoes. They work like a charm.
As a non drummer, even attempting to hold that double bass tempo makes me feel like I've just thrown my legs into a volcano, it's so amazing people are able to do this stuff!
It's all technique and conditioning, why a lot of really good drummers don't look like athletes, more like your typical dad. Most likely, this is like walking for this guy, second nature.
Hard work, practice nd mainly dedication coz of all this u can...
He's a flat footed drummer. You'll rarely see his heels lift while playing. John Rice is one hell of a drummer. JFAC lost out on this guy leaving.
Rice has probably 15+ years of drumming experience. Just saying it takes years and dedication to get there.
I'm not even the biggest Behemoth fan but this is just the best opening for a song ever. Jon kills it, what a monster.
He's playing exactly what Inferno played on the studio recording. Now, that's how you fill in!
Huge respect for both guys !!!
Except inferno hits the drums like a pussy with no power during live...Still he deserves all the credit coz he is the one who composed these masterful drumming.....
This isn’t normal - this man is a machine
Inferno was awaiting the birth of his second child, and Jon was filling in on this tour.
LittyProductions he should have been named 'the machine'
LittyProductions and i was just wondering where Inferno was, thnx for that info..
LittyProductions ooohhh
I thought they looked different
Jon is way better imo
I just started playing drums and just learned Michael Jackson - Billie Jean. I'm going to learn this song next.
Xd
All d besT
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good luck
Wait. You learned Billie Jean?!?!? That song is extremely hard to learn. I mastered every Behemoth song but never Billie Jean.
Damn, this is probably my 16th time watching this...I'm not even kidding
Liam Fain same 🤣
Yes I have watched this many times well I also just acquired my GHOST pedal
Liam Fain me too
100+
Liam Fain seriously dude I’ve watched this about 20 times just to listen to that ride 💀💀🤘🏼
Holy shit that's a calf destroyer of a song
Anonymous Prime I think you mean cattle decapitation...
@@MrBiggysmalls87 yes satan
It is..for real tho..j learned this song back when it came out but love the way this dude plays ..its just nice a smooth but powerful and just beastmode
It is...another " calf destoyer song" would be diabolic intents " forced genetic acquiescence" 8 min.of non stop double bass
czcams.com/video/BBTMdF6kUfA/video.html
Or a knee destroyer if you use the Swivel like me and KRIMH (that at the time played with them when Inferno was a dad for the first time, I believe. Either that or he had to go under surgery. Not sure)
This drum intro will become an iconic grooves over the years
I just love how his legs doesn't seem to be moving during those double bass sections...
true but i think he is losing power this way
@@evans2267 hes using ankle technique. its impossible to go fast with leg motion
@@arvidfrom5693 impossible for as long as he does but definetly not impossible, just look at jay weinberg
@@tomfson8609 nah maybe at the midtempo stuff around 200 bpm but in the beginning of the song its around 260 bpm and then its actually impossible
@@arvidfrom5693 yeah
My feet started sweating after watching this video.
Jon Rice, one of the best drummers in the world. Greatly underrated!!!!
Jon is such a beast! He did a great job covering for Inferno in the US tour... I saw him in Florida and was blown away (pun intended).
gp19 are you from florida?
What's the pun?
I too want to know where the pun is
@@DevoutionAura maybe florida being the capital of hurricanes
@@tomfson8609 You have graced me with your wisdom o god emperor i am not worthy
I'm usually impressed by any metal drum video I see, but this ranks near the top. Dude is a complete monster.
2:57 mans really did just ywan
no
Watching Jon during his time with Behemoth brings such joy to my heart. The power this performance exudes is astounding
Went to Hs with this dude. Tiniest arms, bigger heart, biggest skills on the set. JR !!
Hey Pete how the hell are you!
Better than yesterday, not as good as tomorrow. Happy to be alive. How have you been?
I'm not a part of this but kudos man. That is the best response to that question i've ever seen.
Incredible work by this guy. Mega tight playing. Imagine getting that call to fill in for inferno?
thats no easy shoes to fill :D
@@NickyDekker89 yeah those cowboy boots look quite tight
This makes me respect Inferno even more.
His double bass action is so fast and flawless.
He's so graceful and relaxed! It's phenomenal!
That breakdown slight delay pause will probably stick with me forever...absolutely epic.
1:08 The windmills are insane, Jon Rice just killing it
this is one of the best drum cam videos on internet. Edit: this drum composition is pure dope itself
1:20 - 1:50 my favorite part
Same
Everybody's favorite part
same!
2 years later, still can get over this fucking killer video
This guy is a phenomenal drummer. Definitely one of the best in extreme metal. He’s a very physical drummer, and hits his kit which much greater force than most metal drummers, as many often just glide over their kits, and are heavily miked. Not Jon.
That ride sounds so good
Meinl Mb20 22" Heavy Bell ride.
That's how brilliant Inferno is behind the drumming of Behemoth when you can see other young drummers filling for him with full of excitement blasting those drum
I like the part where he goes tiktiktiktiktiktik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tiktiktiktik
funny and original!!!
Im so glad I'm not the only asshole that loves that clinga chinga clingk
Out of sheer curiosity, which part is that exactly? 🤔
it's funny, because i know which is the exactly part that you are talking about
HAHAHAHA OMG I THINK I KNOW! Shit that's hilarious hahahahaha! Tiktiktik haha so original!
POWERFUL!
What a great drummer!
God DAMN! He plays Behemoth songs like he wrote them. So perfectly accurate. Really damn impressive stuff.
One of my favorite behemoth tracks, and Jon fucking nailed it. Job for a cowboy kicks ass and him playing for behemoth is so siiick. I got to talk to him for a minute when he played a small show with white chapel in my hometown. Cool dude. \m/
I've heard this song hundred times and never mentioned that the drums line is so incredible powerful and tough.
This is why I think drums should be loud in the mix. It just makes the song sound that much more powerful. It’s a bummer to miss out on that. Especially in metal.
Love it. Has to be one of my favorite all time drum video.
I respect any musician who focuses on clarity and precision in their craft, as Jon Rice obviously does. While metal might be for everyone, and watching drummers might not draw huge crowds, metal requires a risky balance of technical skill and unorthodox creativity, and this video is a good example of an extremely talented drummer who maintains patient control while unleashing just a bit of hellish chaos. I'm a fan.
That ride cymbal sounds so unbelievable good! What a hell of a performance also!
I'll never get tired of this video
Jon you make playing drums look fun. It makes me want to drum like you. I love watching you play and how you execute your drumbeats with expression. I love your style of playing it reminds me of Joey Jordison on how he played while headbanging too.🤘🤘👏🙌
I don't remember how Many time I see this video, and so Many time like so. Great technique and relax.
You know it's drumming from the soul, when go pros are shaking
Had the pleasure to see this guy live. He is unreal.
This is INSANE!!! How he play´s the drums so powerful! Every single hit! Even the blasts....looks sooo relaxed! This is pure Inspiration & Motivation!
Jon is the dopest drummer out there his footwork is sick asf
His Style to Hit the Set is amazing. Cool man.
to do list : study Jon Rice's drumming, study Jon Rice's drumming, study Jon Rice's drumming.
First time i listened to behemoth or jon rice and they are both sick!!!
Best drumming i have seen today
Definitely one of my favourite play throughs and it’s a live performance ......:)
This guy was the original drummer for Job For a Cowboy. He's the reason doom was so brutal!!
actually Elliot Sellers was the original drummer for JFAC Jon came in after Elliot recorded Genesis and went to the faceless

Jon Rice always kills it! Heard he’s got a new project going with the vocalist of Converge!
Umbra Vitae "Shadow Of Life" The new project. Return to Zero is the new song out on CZcams. Record is out May first on digital formats.
Great fill in. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Jon rice killing it. Awesome job.
Damn, don't get me wrong I love how Inferno writes, and his playing but he's definitely one of those guys that doesn't feel the need to destroy his set. John however hits like a mac truck with almost every stroke! Saw them in Eugene, Oregon with LoG (they're not nearly as good live as they used to be).
Nice to see the response to their latest conserts. Some people say they're even better, others say they kinda suck.
You are absolutely right. I was able to see Behemoth side stage a couple times, and there is almost ZERO stage volume from Inferno. I feel he kinda abuses the triggers. He does write some really good drum parts though
Márcio Chiabotto My first concert I ever went to LoG headlined and Behemoth supported them, and I feel comfortable saying Behemoth improved, but I didn't feel like LoG did. Just my opinion, they're obviously great musicians, just I felt like they weren't as "into it" as they used to be. Could have been an off day, my biased opinion, or none of the above. Cheers!
BurnThePope Lamb of God is aging really badly. Chris is still a great drummer though.
That was one of the problems that I have while watching Inferno.. It looks pretty boring
Almost forgot to watch this today
So Amazing!!!
I loved this image of this drummer! Tecnical too much!
One word
AWESOME 🤘
One of my favorite Behemoth songs fosho
Such a powerful performance, one of their best songs
I fail to understand how you can do infernos job absolutely flawlessly, amazing job brother!!!!
watching this makes me wanna learn drums lmao
UNREAL cymbal technique!
I play this video multiple time and always amazed
Jon is absolutely amazing!
AMAZING MIRACLE
Is amazing drummer
Stunning technician . Ancient metal guy .
great job jon!!!!
Jon Rice is probably the best drummer in metal right now. Amazing.
Probably John Longstreth still.
Dan Presland
@@benthompson9871 Presland is ridiculously good. Creativity is next level, coordination is next level, live performance is always on fucking point, and his feet HAVE to be at least part machine, because that fuckers legs seem to NEVER get tired.
Other than Dan Presland...
David Diepold is a goddamn monster behind the kit. I'm not sure if anybody has impressed me as much as he has in death metal.

Vans=best drumming shoes hahahaha. So glad he made it so far. So deserved to play in behemoth. Crazy watching him throughout the years. Well respected drummer in my heart. Plays with power and precision. Funk yes.
Love the moment at approx. 3:47, getting focused again, leaning forward like a stalking cat. Fantastic drumming.
Let's be honest. It's not your first time watching this.
Been coming back to this video for a while 😭
Rappers are like: “yo check this beat w these triplets this shit is dank yo amazing beat!!!!”
Behemoth: “that’s really cute my child.”
Maxo Kream: "I rhymed the same six syllables sixteen couplets in a row with a fluctuating and complex slant rhyme scheme that'd make Tennyson tip his hat"
Metalheads still living in 2005: "Rap is crap!"
Breakdowns in extreme metal exist because of rap. Ask Suffocation and Internal Bleeding about it lol
@Flying Spaghetti 🙄 That's like asking if growling is music. It's a vocal style, and if you put a backtrack to it, then yeah it's part of the music. Also not at all what I'm arguing, which is that it's really big "greasy Slayer kid" energy to just write off rap and hip-hop wholesale. Like I can picture the Tapout shirt from here
@Flying Spaghetti I think you're trying way too hard to pigeonhole a subjective form of expression into a rigid definition. Rap is listened to in the same contexts, using the same media, with the same visceral reaction and as the result of similar techniques. Not to say death metal and hip hop are similar musical styles (except see my previous comment--Internal Bleeding once opened for a Mobb Deep show I saw and they plugged Mobb HARD), but they clearly share performative and creative roots. That said I can appreciate a sweaty Batman shirt.
Amazing drummer!!! Truely talented.
Outstanding and full of craziness\\m//
I don't care what anyone thinks, drummers are definitely the hottest
Absolutely correct
i have a hard time coming to terms with him being that good.
Omg! Awesome he makes it look effortless!
These drum videos got me into Behemoth.
wait... this hyper human drum machine is the fill in guy for the real drummer !!! WTF
Why is there no reactions to this?!?! Dude is amazing!
Ah, found what I wanted, what I needed to see/hear. Thanks.
OMG can listen and enjoy again and again. what a show
Toca demais, muito bom, não sei como algum doente dá deslike!
Pica boi, bro... fumou o original. Monstro.
I've seen Behemoth twice live. Once with Jon Rice, and once with Inferno. While Inferno is great, Jon Rice was so much better live. I'm no drummer but he seemed to be much tighter and cleaner all around. His energy was also top notch. At one point I swear he had a staring contest with me for half a song when I was mesmerized by his abilities.
This drummer looks like my recently deceased friend who loved this song and this band.
R.I.P. my friend. I love you.
wow!!!! jon really restored in detail inferno "parts",thumbs up!!!
