the old moonstone is way more fun and interactive. u needed to stay in battle to get the effect and it has an extra ability for characters with limited enchanter abilities like Morgana.

@@luk6997 I mean not exactly. The new Moonstone is just half the old one (only the heal/shield amp, but on a separate ally), but the starlit grace healing from the item is gone. Helias is just a reworked Athenes.
From a technical standpoint we have new Moonstone that converts heals into heals and shields into shields, Helias which converts dmg + heal/shield for heals/damage, and we now lack an item that provides the second function of Moonstone that converts dmg, heal, or shield, into heals.
That second function of Moonstone was what all the off meta enchanter picks like Morg/Lux abused in order to be viable as enchanters - the 2s cd heal enabled them to proc staff/ardent at similar rates to normal enchanters, whose heals/shields would be on similar cooldowns.
Helias being Chalice 2.0 will most likely have the same issues as before, where you’d have to run Guardian, Font of Life, and build Mikaels/Redemption (both of which have negative synergy with Helias) in order to make it viable, since their own shields are 10-16s cd at max rank. People DID make Athenes work on those two, but it would be wrong to say Athenes Morg/Lux was easier to pull off or simpler to use than Moonstone Morg/Lux.

What I can see is that if there's only you and an ally, they regain the item passive only at 10% less. Shield for 1000, ally gains 20-30% (200-300) if no other ally is in range. 16:13
As seen on 23:54, Aery's shield on Katarina triggers another Moonstone shield.

I really can't tell if the new moonstone is chaining to the same ally. Because the moonstone visual effect was still going towards the ally when only one person was present to get shielded, but also the damage shielded amount looked suuuper low compared to the value of modern moonstone.

If Moonstone has no extra allies to chain to, the chain healing/shielding applies to the same target

The new moonstone no longer heals by itself, and instead only duplicates healing/shielding onto nearby allies. There is no more moonstone twitch, zyra, morg after these changes :(

I see it as having more options. New moonstone has better scaling, and Helias is for snowballing. I just wish they made the new moonstone a separate item and reverted the current one to the S11 version where it was only heals without the heal amp. That way you could have scaling new moonstone, consistency old moonstone, and snowball helias
