You're totally right! Same with taking pics of dogs.... and actually people... what's closest to the camera looks big. Big heads aren't attractive haha. Chippy is so cute, he has such a nice confirmation, and a nice muscular butt. 😀

A good shot depends on how the horse is standing as well. I used to get the Quarter Horse Journal and they'd take pics from the front and rear from a low angle. It would accentuate the shoulder muscle, the head, and the rear. There is a way to do it from the front so the hindquarters aren't diminished at all.
At the risk of being rude...."chippy" is a dippy name for a nice strong young horse! How about Chipster, Mr. Chips, Woodchip? Something with at least a little more oomph behind it? Like his big haunches. chippy is okay for a baby name. Okay, that's my unasked for two cents, lol!

I think that was a fair trade for a few months. Gold 66 gets some more training and you get to work with Chippy and get him better handled. And neither you or your brother are feeding extra animals. 💖💖💖
Quarter horses are built almost the same as a Welsh cob. I love a Welsh cob for their temperament and stocky build. Best children and adults horse in South Africa.
Alan make sure Chippy is trying to founderca little bit due to possible change in location and change in feed....also you mentioned the other day at your family rodeo that Chipper had coliced again...I'm sure your vet is aware of and you too anout what they call Sand Colic...occurs especially where soil is sandy and horses are fed on the ground...and it is hard to solve asxtge sabd settles in the gut ....and to take good horse photos ...and is true of any breed you really need a good telephoto lens so that you pull the hind quarters and head up on tbe same plane otherwise you get a distorted photo either a big head or a big butt...with a photo you can make a $10,000 horse look like a $500 horse if not done correctly....a good angle for horses is a 3/4 angle
Love the video of chippy , hes beautiful how old is he? My experience with quarter horses by the time their four they really fill out across the chest as with his butt. Hes going to fill out beautifully.
Alan breakdown and spend $20 on a phone holder with clip. You could have easily clipped it to the fence and videotaped treating his hoofs. Amazon has numerous ones. Get a good quality one so the clip doesn't break easily.

Try lemon juice on your hands lemon usually helps cut strong smell on your hands.
