I was at a party and a guy told a rape joke, the gist of it was that the victim actually enjoyed the experience and was going to go back for more. In my life i have know 6 women and 3 men who have been sexually assaulted. Of those 9 people only ONE went to the police. Too ashamed and afraid they would be accused of "asking for it". So, i not only did not force myself to pretend to laugh at the joke, i told him just what i have written here and thats why i didnt think it was funny. I really dont like PC policing, yet in that instance i couldnt laugh. I couldnt because of the people i knew who were still ashamed and hiding what happened to them. When is it PC and when is it compassion and just not being ABLE to laugh at some things?

I think it's just the nature in which he is doing it..on the show it was very funny, subtle, and the situation almost always called for it. in comparison, real life Jerry is definitely more obnoxious, smug, entitled, while of course, doing the same thing as earlier mentioned. I still respect the man, just find the differences in behavior interesting.
If he comes off more smug and entitled, it's because he's had 20 more years to enjoy the fame and fortune that's come from creating Seinfeld.
