    Brilliant and very clear video without missing any procedures. Also a very calm and careful mechanic.
    I am planning to replace the clutch assembly on Citron C2 Design 1.1 L 2006. Unable to select gears when the engine is on and the clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays there.
    Questions:
    Will this video apply for C2 and if not what are the extra steps and do you also have to take the driveshaft hub nut on C2. I do not want to do that as I do not have a big torque range.
    Which clutch assembly is best Valeo or LUK?
    What red grease did you use and why did you apply to the bolt holes?
    What grade oil, semi-synthetic or fully synthetic, and how much do I need for C2?
    Did you change the position of the jack under the engine sump and why?
    What is the torque for the clutch plate to the flywheel?
    Do you fill oil until it just starts dripping from the filler hole?
    Roughly how high to jack the car?
    Don’t have to remove the battery and clear that area in C2?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s almost identical to this C1.
      Gearbox oil MTF 75w90
      20nm for pressure plate bolts. But give it a little extra just to be safe.
      I never Jack the engine up from the sump. Secure gearbox with axle stand and move jack under gearbox.
      You’ll need roughly 2.5L of oil.
      You should be ok on the 3rd hole of an axle stand. Engine is Roughly about 3/4m off the floor

    • @montydiy4561
      @montydiy4561 Před 3 lety

      @@WMCS Thanks for the prompt response. So just for clarification, on C2 I definitely do not have to remove the driveshafts? Just remove the lower ball joints from the wishbone and slide the driveshaft out? Also which clutch kit do you recommend or fit? On your C1 video, I thought you jacked the engine up the sump? What grease did you use? On C1 you did not have the axle stand under the gearbox but I will do that.
      I believe you have to also remove the battery area to gain access to the gearbox mounting. On C1 you did not remove the battery area. I want to avoid extra work if it is different from C1. Have got a video for a clutch replacement for C2 and is C2 the same as C2?

Doing it again and would like to ask, what is the metally fluffy thing that you put on the bolts for the gear linkage panel? Is this some sort of material to reduce vibrations? Also any tips to stop the clutch adjuster knob becoming loose? I had to keep tightening it like once a week with my old clutch. Thanks again. :) :)

    Thank you for this great video. I was looking at the technical paper of the C1 and the steps described there are much complicated as yours. So I was about to give up doing it myself until I see your video. One question: what kind of clutch centering tool are you using (which diameter for the C1)? Will the KS Tools 150.2180 fit for this? Managed to remove and replace the clutch on C2 2006 manual. During the refit, there is one safety pin that fits to one of the electrical block connecteor behind the battery. I can remember where and how another pin fits to an electric connecter nears the slave cylinder. Please advice. Also, the clutch feels very spongy and I have to bleed it many times and it is still the same, any advice. Thanks

    • @montydiy4561
      @montydiy4561 Před 3 lety

      thanks, yes I can select gears when the engine is running. I have also driven the car without any issue, but the bitting of the clutch is low. I am planning to bleed it again. I think the problem is that when I removed the slave cylinder, the plunger might have come out as there was lots of fluid in the rubber boot. So the air must have gone in. In the video, you make it so easy and have all the trade tricks. Also, do you know where does the pin fits on the electric connection?

    Hi, I have managed to remove the gearbox and have replaced a new thrust sleeve on the shaft and new clutch assembly with Draper alignment tools. I do not have a crane host, working with floor jacks. I am not a strong as your mechanic and having extreme difficulty replacing the gearbox to the engine. I am lifting the gearbox with rope. Is there a technique to push the gearbox shaft into the engine?

      @@WMCS Hi managed to get the gearbox in after struggle for a couple of hours. The only problem was when I tried to fit the slave cylinder it was very difficult and was not able to move the clutch lever. Took the rubber dust cover off the gearbox and found the lever has come off the pivot. I must have pushed the lever when pushing the gearbox into the engine. Now I have to remove the gearbox back and sort the lever out. Very disappointed. I also find some fluid was leaking from the slave cylinder when I tried to push it into the lever. Have got a video on how to replace a slave cylinder and bleed. I can find a video anywhere. thanks for your help.
