Man the first one should be very unpopular because that’s just a terrible take
I disagree. I’ve read some comments of people asking for players like Amanda and Rupert to return! I seriously do not want to see players of seasons that far back with multiple times played return. I’d be rooting against them lol
Q is way more like Dreams if anything. Venus is more like abi maria. Charlie is a way better player than maria.... yeah that take is hot garbage
Frankly I'm kinda hoping it's just New Era players because even just from 41-46 you could make a solid All-Star cast, but I can agree with 35-49 for the reasons OUAL laid out.
It's honestly so awful, I agree
@@ColbyBumington Who the ever loving fuck is asking for Amanda back lmao. Send me their info, I have a lump of coal to gift them next Christmas.
I have no idea if this is unpopular or not, so I'll just throw it out into the ether: I miss the "lame" low-budget challenges of early Survivor. Get rid of the brightly colored playground equipment and give me back buckets of mud, kites, and plates hanging from strings. This is a show about surviving in the wilderness, not American Ninja Warrior.
Agreed. The obstacle courses seem like a waste of time a lot of the time when the challenges are won or lost with a tossing ending or a puzzle. You have some really interesting suspenseful challenges that are also super basic.
Who doesn’t want chaos? Chaos is why every single iconic moment is, like you said!
All the complainers on social media complain about the chaotic moments. Every single time.
Why don't these people just read their work emails for entertainment if all they want is polite communication and uninterrupted strategy
Chaos is a ladder, which makes Angelina an S-tier strategist
without chaos, you get 41
@@bjroo such a slog of a season to get through
Hot take: “Outplay”(both the challenge beasts and the camp life contributors) don’t get as much respect as they should, by juries or fans. I respect a social game and “big moves”, but some people are so obsessed with those concepts that they might as well watch chess.
That's part of why I tend to favor earlier seasons. I feel like the full trio of attributes in that slogan are taken into account more by juries and the editing.
Hot take but a good take. I also think people who play the game unconventionally deserve more credit. People like Jayden on the recent Australian Survivor or people who play just for the love of the game rather than hoping to win shouldn't be hated on for not making the right moves.
Camp life is just nonexistent in these 26 day seasons. Building shelters and catching food used to actually be an important consideration when voting people off.
This is a hot but such a good take, and I feel like season 46 is an amazing example of this, more than most of the seasons and even some in the new era. Season 46 was a purely social game, and it took away from the premise of survivor a bit, which made it frustrating.
THIS. Recently, Survivor feels like watching a bunch of people (who are indistinguishable from one another) doing math. If I wanted to watch people doing math, I would have paid attention in math class in high school instead of playing Minecraft lmao. Not good television.
My unpopular survivor opinion is that Survivor should return to the old reunion format where all contestants are given equal screen time and opportunities to speak. The current format often focuses too much on a few key players, leaving many contestants with little to no time to share their experiences. The old format provided a more comprehensive and balanced recap of the season, allowing fans to hear from every player, regardless of their placement in the game. This change would bring back a sense of fairness and inclusivity, making the reunion a more satisfying conclusion for both contestants and viewers.
Yes! At the 45 reunion, the Bruce vs. Katurah storyline wasn't talked about because no one knew about it!
I want a season with no tribes, everyone lives together, before challenges, random team draws..... If it's immunity challenge, and your drawn team wins, y'all are safe, but EVERYONE votes every time.
It's hard to strategize alliance when your teammates constantly change
i recently met Yam Yam and Dee at a Survivor watch party…..after talking with them, i could see why they won. i even said to Yam Yam “yeah, i see why you said you’d beat Carson because i believe it”.
Yam yam was a tool😂😂😂😂 the name alone is mental illness. Dude would be eaten alive anywhere. You actually think he won😂😂😂😂 he was given the win
If 46 sticks the landing, it's a top-tier season.
No!
It didn't. Still best season since 40
Maria made it fall flat on it’s face, but probably still better than 43
I agree greatly with your Vanuatu take. It’s great to see a slow burn season once in a while and narratively, Chris’s edit in the final stretch is an all-timer.
Vanuatu is nowhere close to this season wy talking about?
If I was on a cast with Cirie I would try my best to keep her in the game and get to the end with her. She is my favorite player in the history of the show and I really wouldnt care if I could never win against her in the end. I want her to win. Let queen Cirie win!
I was just thinking this hahaha. I would be such a lapdog 😭
Unpopular opinion: russel using fincher to vote laura morett and then immediately flipping on fincher was one of the most ruthless moves ever. It's so epic
Yet Fincher still voted for him to win
the yam yam take is lowkey silly because they totally disregard his relationship building and just say it's his "winning smile"
- he helps pull in carson at the first tribal
- he pulls carolyn back in after he gets blindsided by sarah
- he is only in the position to get voted out because of a stupid twist
- he does a great job fooling ratu and playing the middle, carson may have been the strategist but yam yam was the main one whoe executed and made sure relationships stuck, he was the glue to tika, the glue to the fake final 4 between carson yam lauren and jamie
- and his jury management is top tier
People who say Charlie should've won are missing the point of how Survivor works.
Tiff going to bat so much for Kenzie is a testament to not only having a good social game, but picking THE RIGHT PEOPLE to give that time to. Charlie had put his time with two people: Ben and Maria. Sure, Charlie can blame Maria, I would too in his case. But he had to stick with a person who thought they were in the driver seat, had a bit of an ego, and was voted out two days before. Maybe an extra day on pondi changes Maria's thoughts, or a different big move sways someone else who voted for Kenzie. It's a tough hand, many variables had to go wrong to get it. But it's not a flawed one.
If it did tie, his other person (Ben) would've given him the win with strong social bonds, and this discussion wouldn't be an issue. He said himself "the jury is always right", which is why he IS a great player. He gets it, so should the viewers.
I love the idea of a cross over season with challenge stars, amazing race, and big brother!
The Crystal montage was so hilarious I had to rewatch just to listen to what was being said.
The post merge in the past couple seasons has been the best it has ever been
Dawg called me a fed smh
😂
I agree with you tbh tho
the problem of this season is the number of players voted out with the idol in their pockets.
I love the idea of re-editing the old seasons to make them 90 minutes. Reminds me of what they did with The Office and the Superfans episodes, and super fans of Survivor would love to re-watch the old seasons to see extra footage like that. I highly doubt it would happen, but it would still be awesome.
my hot take: Gabon is underrated.
Being a Benliever has definitely been my unpopular opinion for Season 46 😂
I agree that season 46 was just not what I was expecting and in a kinda bad way. Like I wouldn’t say it is in the top 5 worst but it is in the bottom 10, just cause of frustration. People were too selfish and there was no resolution in a way where it was shocking yet not annoying. Like the writing on the wall was there for most of the idols and none of it was satisfying. The jury honestly is one of the most petty I have ever seen and this felt like far more reality tv than survivor ever is.
The season was chaotic and entertaining, but kinda left me with a “headache” kinda feeling
Unpopular opinion:
Philip Shepard was actually playing a winning game in season 26 but Malcolm and the other amigos had idles. If that didn’t happen Philip would have had a great chance to win
Gabler is an all time winner. He maneuvered his way around the game with an obvious target on his back, being his age. He got enemies out by the merge, befriended everyone, navigated alliances without blowing his game, pit allies against each other and found a way to get rid of his biggest competition (Jesse and Cody, I do think he would’ve beaten Karla) out by the final 3. Fans need to go on an apology tour to the Alligabler.
Hot take: the final 4 fire making surprise twist in season 35 wasn’t as bad as some people say. For example if Tony got voted out final 3 in Cagayan people would be talking about how bad that was just like the surprise fire making twist
Its nice how you thought season 50 will have a theme.
My hot take is that I hope neither Tony nor Sarah ever return to Survivor. I know everyone loves them and the vibe they would bring would be immaculate but I think their 100% legacy as a duo and the fact that if they play, they'd have to be so lowkey, would really just ruin it
I'm so glad someone else shares my Yam Yam opinion
So real, I loved that take
He seemed like such a jerk
Phillip Shepard played well the second time and I think even he could beat Dawn and Sherri in that final
Unpopular opinion: While the "New Era" has yet to deliver an all-time season that can be put in the top ten, its given us six very solid mid to above average seasons which on its own is a very impressive streak.
There should be an idol that gives two people immunity
Worst cast ever? What is this? My channel
Bro thinks he's meme view
King in the comments. Brucey Wucey forever
Meme view he isn’t you because once upon an island doesn’t think that king Bruce is the greatest player of all time even tho he is wrong.
You know you would be a good meme view look a like
Bruce
If Q played his idol, Maria blindsided Charlie and proceeds to win the season, this will be a good reason
Each season is like Christmas. Many gifts and one never knows what they will get. So much footage ends up on the cutting room floor. :-( I would like to see YamYam's season get a re-edit of 90 min. episodes.
Sandra's pearl island win was not impressive. She just said she was a spare vote. The jury was very bitter against Lillian. I get that Lillian already got voted out and that she should of taken Fairplay or ditched the scout loyalty stuff. Overall though, Sandra never did anything really strategic.
Honestly Lillian DESERVED the win more. She was voted out and despite that being a really easy motive for the cast to just vote her out again, she made it all the way to final tribal. Part of why I struggle with watching a lot of early survivor seasons is that I feel most juries vote emotionally.
@@dylanotto949 exactly
I couldn’t stand Lill, but Sandra’s attitude towards the game is really childish.
Unfortunately, even before her “queen” gloats, she was annoying to watch, especially after the Rupert vote in PI. Like, SERIOUSLY?????? Sabotaging camp and cursing nonstop over a vote not going your way???
Also, I don’t buy into her claims that she knew about Fairplay’s lie, because her attitude was the exact same as back at camp BEFORE that challenge. She’d obviously be just as bratty even if his grandmother actually died.
@@Ori_Kohav why couldn’t you stand lill
@@LezlySmile-fw9ck all that blabbering about being a scout, and about what’s right or not right
the mini Crystal compilation killed me with laughter. She really was a factor in the chaos
Thanks for the scriptures at the end of the videos.
Chris is one of my top 10 favorite winners. Chris messing up Twila’s game before Final tribal is one of the funniest and smartest moves in Survivor. Vanuatu is a most watch season.
“Charlie is just Maria’s puppet” it’s easy to hate on a cast when your read on the game is completely incorrect
Unpopular opinion: Endurance competitions are really boring and I really hate seeing them 5-7 times in a row. I understand the hate for puzzles, but it is very predictable and annoying to see the next immunity challenge being endurance, when 4 previous ones where like that. I miss the days of having the first and last immunity challenges being endurance.
I agree. I really think all the challenges have become boring. They are all essential the same structure. Balance across this, untie that, toss that, finish with puzzle. Heck put the puzzle at the beginning or something.
@@hp5469 Jeff has stated many times that the puzzle is the great equalizer and that people can come from behind and win (Kass from Cagayan and Jaclyn from San Juan Del Sur). I would gladly take kite flying, stilt walking, and fire challenges (not final 4 fire) over endurance comps, but do bring back Centrifuge (ball rolling comp).
@FundipYoshi I agree about the puzzle. I was just saying , I'd like to see the data on puzzle solving. What percentage does the first player to start it win, or last player, or second, etc. Cause it sure feels like if you get there first, you are not winning. Just need to change something up. They nailed down some great formulas for challenges. Endurance challenges, and physical obstacle course with puzzle at the end. Obviously there is more than just those, but they really jiat seem like variants of the same formula. They need more formulas.
I don’t like the endurance challenges because most of them give a clear advantage to certain body types
Let's get it! I made it into a Once Upon and Island video!
Good video onceuponanisland i love watching your content
Talk about the unexpected!!! I would like to see season 50 start with 20 players. Have 4 tribes. Two tribes competing against each other, and not seeing the other two tribes, until it is merge time. Now that would be totally novel if they would do such a thing!
Rob isn't nearly the villain the shows paint him out to be. Rob plays up the social experiment side of the game to an extreme, but he's not as bad as it gets. Tom does several of the same things in his season and he's painted as a hero and not a villain. The producers need to have some sort of villain every season, and Rob fit the bill during his runs in Survivor.
If not the worst cast, then this season has the most niave idol finders in the show's history.
Or biggest risk takers who arent playing it safe.
Unpopular Opinion: Maria is playing the greatest gameplay of all time! She easily would have won any season she is in.
How about some players who understand that when you vote out threats....YOU become the threat.
I was hoping that Q's Journey 6 alliance was going to work and we were going to have 6 really good players as the final 6. Instead....stupidity prevailed and we end up with a final 6 which included Liz and Ben...and 2 others who weren't top 6 threats at the merge.
How fun would it have been if the final 6 were Q, Tim, Hunter, Tiff, Maria and Tevin!!
Natalie Anderson WAW worst move is a great hot take! Idk if I’d say worst ever, but I think there’s a debate to be had!
Do we have information on her fire making abilities? Like was she just relying on the fact that the jury thought Sarah was carried by Tony and hoping Sarah would beat him because she couldn't get Tony out otherwise? Still not a great play but maybe she was making the best of a bad situation. Just the way she talked about jury perception when she returned I can't see why she wouldn't make that move otherwise.
Honestly I think it should go back to a Final 2. Final 3 just makes it a battle between 2 people anyway as the juries have shown they basically almost always disregard the 3rd person.
wanda from palau should return in s50, fight me
only reason tom won was bc she was booted so early
I would LOVE a season of survivor with first boots. Can you imagine a tribe of people who were all voted out first coming back to play the game again? And then of course there will be ONE person who will be the only person who was voted out FIRST… TWICE! Like the stakes would be so high in the first episode
The cast for that season. I know there are only ten, but all the other first boots aren't memorable:
1. Survivor: China- Chicken (Damn!)
2. Survivor: Tocantins- Carolina Eastwood (Survivor loves blindsiding me!)
3. Redemption Island and Caramoan- Francesca (I will eat this rock if I get voted out first a third time)
4. Survivor: Philippines- Zane (I'm playing chess the best way I know how)
5. Survivor: San Juan Del Sur- Nadiya Anderson (Twinnie!)
6. Survivor: World's Apart- So Kim
7. Survivor: Ghost Island- Stephanie Gonzalez
8. Survivor: Edge of Extinction- Reem
9. Survivor: 42- Zach
10. Survivor: 45- Jelinsky (Several means seven)
Um.. "Francheskwa" was already a double first-boot elimination on 22 and 26.
@@zanyzander I know, that’s what makes her iconic!
46 wasn't that bad in my opinion. I surprisingly enjoyed most of the cast in this season. Except Q. He was my pick to take it all, until episode 4, then I just disliked him as a person altogether. Shame, but, it is what it is. I ended up rooting for Hunter, but we know how that ended. All in all, I enjoyed the season. (just to be clear, I don't watch week to week, I wait til the season wraps, and binge watch it til my eyes bleed :P) So, I don't over think it, I just fry up some chicken and fries, and kick my feet up for a day :)
I do the same thing. I watched the last two seasons in one week
I have to agree partially with the trainwreck comments. Q and Liz are entertaining. I think liz's struggle of hunger alongside getting shafted several times is interesting(Though If it went any longer it would have been super annoying).... which is exactly why I did not care for Bhanu. If it hadn't been for the evacuation I might have come out with a slightly better opinion, but he got another whole episode to re-tread the entire last episodes mental breakdown but even worse. As he totally fucked himself in every way possible. I do not think I've ever seen a more screwed player than Bhanu, and it was largely his own fault. So he massively screwed up on the challenge for seemingly no reason, told everyone everything about the drama at their camp then lied...... but then just said the truth almost immediatly after, got screwed by a lack of a vote so he didn't even have shot in the dark. Then begged everyone and got super annoying to be tutored how to play the game midway into the game. Seeing him literally get on his knees and beg was embarassing for everyone involved. And the irony that his teammates went significantly father than him after he left shows just how much of a goober he was. he was just a massive bleeding heart who was so bad at the game even jeff had to admit he might be the single worst player ever..... and that's including the dude who couldn't climb a ladder in the first challenge.
Q is a trainwreck in the best ways. And massive smokescreen to anyone else. Including himself strangely.
Liz's worst aspect is that she added to the annoying theme of the merge of "Someone stole my move" cause I think we've seen that like 3 or four times at this point, or people whining that their move was stolen.
Some of these are great. Re-editing the past seasons… wow, mind blown. That’s an amazing idea. I’d even pay for that. As long as the originals remain available and they’re not doing a George Lucas.
Thumbnail is so true besides 41
Gabon gives me life when I’m in need of laughs. I think I’ve watched it at least 10 times lol
I don’t think the new era casting is all that bad. Yes, a lot of the players have roughly the same vivacious personality, but they’re all very likeable. There have been very few recent contestants who I actively hate, so it makes the seasons very satisfying to watch. No matter what happens I can’t be upset with the outcome because worst comes to worst I’m just indifferent to the winner
my unpopular opinion is that Maryanne shouldn’t have won. There’s crazy and “different “ players every season and she played a boring lackluster game. Carolyn being a 0 vote finalist is also a robbery
On your thoughts on chaos, I think the game is literally designed, as is so much reality tv- but survivor in a different way- to extract maximum emotional drama, easily caused by chaos.
Jeff gets off on seeing people walk unique paths of human experience
I feel that every All-Star season since Winners at War, anyone who was voted out or evacuated should be on the jury.
The original music when people get voted out needs to be brought back.
Also there shouldn’t be any more sob stories
The only survivor crossover I want to see is with 60 days in.
Here’s one that I didn’t mention in the community post. I think Laurel from Ghost Island is very underrated, and was judged unfairly by the jury.
I dont know if this is unpopular or not, but non-jurors should be in the aftershow! Just have them off to the side until the winner is chosen.
I completely agree with the 34 cut off. The Survivor greats with always be the greats. But they’ve been back so many times already!
a stone for you dylanotto!
I feel like 48 should be new era all stars because than you have a way to celebrate the new era (41-47). They should change it up and have 24 players with three tribes of eight. Then season 50 would be legends or something else big like heroes vs villains 2. That way the new era gets there own time to shine while still being able to have a legendary season 50. This makes sense considering season 1-8 were structured like this with 7 seasons of straight newbies and an all star season to celebrate. And for those who say two returnee seasons in a 3 season time period wouldnt happen, its not that crazy considering second chance and gamechangers only had two seasons seperating them.
my unpopular opinion is social game is far more important than everything else in the game and if you make jurors like you that's all it should take to win, cause 1 million dollars is a LOT and they have to feel good about their vote!
gagged at seeing omegashow in this video! such a crossover, he's such a great animator help
I hate the new meta of everyone basically just sandbagging to reduce threat level. All the most interesting and physically strong players get voted out before final 6 without fail.
This season had the best chance of breaking that trend with "the 6" made up almost entirely of strong players, but Q single handedly ruined it when he got sketched out by Tiff (rightfully) just mentioning Maria's name. Now, Maria is the last one standing from the 6 and is the biggest threat to win, which is why she probably won't either and get a lame winner like Kenzie. Also, season 45 had a great dominant alliance of all strong players that made it to the end and the best one, Dee, won!
1. I think they should do new era only for 49 that way we can have new era all stars then have 50 be people before 41
2. I think if Advantagegeddon happened to ANYONE else nobody would complain
3. I think having a season of premerge boots would be a GREAT idea
4. similarly I don't think there's inherently anything wrong with premerge boots on returning player seasons (As long as it's not "Fan favorites" or "Game Chagngers")
5. Nobody wants to admit when a jury was bitter when it's their favorite that lost because of it (Cassidy/Charlie)
I love Survivor, it’s my main inspiration and favorite non-animated show
(Also I mostly agree with these hot takes and you actually give good points)
The video was just uploaded 💀
And Total Drama?
@@RickIsHim.Yes Is true
Boston Rob is the most overrated player/winner of all time. It took him 4 seasons to win.
In Marquesas he seemed like an average player with only decent strategy.
All-Stars? Yeah he made it to the end and supposedly dominated, but he is terrible at jury management. I’m not at all surprised at all that Amber won S8.
In HvV he just can’t compete with the superior players he was against.
Yes, he won Redemption Island, but he had no completion whatsoever. He took one of the biggest goats in Survivor history to the end.
Winners at War proved he can’t adapt at all to the game. Again, like Redemption Island, he tried the buddy system, expecting it to work when he was facing other winners. Of course that wouldn’t work under those circumstances.
@@SantiPowerShow26 Yeah I love that show too
I wanna see a lot more chaos and fights 👊and a cross over season so we can get more seasons in general
agreed
Edge of extinction is a top 10 season. And it would be top five if Devens Lauren or Wentworth won
My hot take about Yam Yam is that if he's against Carson instead of Carolyn he still wins 7-1-0
Hot take gabler is a better winner than Boston rob
Damn son, that's scorching hot and I love it
11:13 I’ve been saying this since 45 came out I really hope they do this
Worlds Apart is a good season with a brilliant and funny cast.
Bro said Charlie is a puppet for Maria 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's funny because Q is the one who eventually became her puppet
wouldnt a cross over season between us and au players be possible ?
Who does everyone wanna see in season 50?
i wanna see Tiff, Charlie, Q for entertaining purposes lol, there’s a few people from season 43 but especially Jesse, Cassidy & Cody. Also Carolyn, Carson, Emily, Austin, Kaleb, Katurah, Domenick, Tori… There’s def more but these were the ones off the top of my head.
Deven’s, Gervase, Brenda, Spencer, Bi, Kaleb, Drew
46 is literally one of the best casts they’ve had in years!!! People complain that survivor doesn’t cast villains, then we get villains in 46, and they still complain 😂. I love how messy this season was
I was just mentioning yesterday that a lot of the cast of The Amazing Race 36 (current season) would be good or interesting on survivor
my meta unpopular opinion is that liking vanuatu is not unpopular and is only a season that the casual audience has forgotten. if u spend any time in fan communities it is almost universally beloved from my experience and the only criticism for it is the slow start, which again everyone agrees on and gets past
I’m not sure if this is a hot take but I hate the fire making at final 4. I think it would work if they changed it for example not having the jury watch but as of right now I feel it holds to much power over who is most likely to win. I think it at times it has over ruled other peoples game just because they were either immune or they were not chosen to make fire.
Yes, Vanuatu IS an S-Tier season. My favorite actually
Why hasn’t the idea of the first survivor that was voted off from every season comes back.
Because a lot of them showed some terrible gameplay, and completely deserved to be out first.
The worst of them imo are: Reem, Semhar, David S, Wendy Jo, Jellinsky.
George from Australian survivor is the greatest survivor player of all time.
Erik Reichenbach was good at survivor he made it to final 5 both times he played and had a lot of win equity in both seasons
Microneisia:
Gurranteed final 4 unless he gives individual immunity to Natalie
Wins if he gets to the end
Caramoan
Probably beats
Cherri Eddie and maybe dawn
Is it that time again already?
my favorite moment from Vanuatu was when Ami kept saying how a woman needs to win because the men have always won this game. you could tell she was probably a recruit because by season 9, women won 5 times and men won 3 times. and of those 3 men, one of them wouldn’t be considered a masculine heterosexual man.
i love Ami
I fully agree with saying Boston Rob wasn't handed his season. Many times returning players are targets, he used a great social game to earn trust and even inspire fear into people, dominate the vote and remove the entire opposing tribe, even if the players had bad strategic ability they were good in challenges and Rob won 4 individual immunities, and got himself the win against a bitter jury.
Season 50 should be people from every era, so 4 people from every 10 seasons. So bring back Rob again cause I want to see all the complaints about it >:)
Francesca from redemption island deserves another chance
People hating the cast this season are wild. Almost every tribal has led to a blindside, 5 people went home with idols in their pockets, and even the trainwrecks are hilarious.
I have a hot take. Jt giving his idol to Russell wasn't a bad move, just not a good one. It was tied 5v5. None of them knew who Russell is(he could have been Tyson evil or strategic evil). Parvati had an all girl alliance before, and when there were 5 girls and 1 boy left, it looked like a girl alliance. Everyone also knew he had a idol so it got target of him.
I posted another version of this on the community post if you want to see it. It might be more clearer
Ok this might be a hot take but survivor ghost island and survivor game changers were good seasons. I may have a soft spot for ghost island cuz it was my first season i watched but i think dom and wendell are iconic, and in game changers, alot of those players got a chance to prove that they were game changers 😤😤
The challenge this season have barely had puzzles anyone else notice that for 46 😅
Bro I was at 6:32
1:58 how is Kenzie the only one who deserves it? All she has done so far is be nice to everyone. I absolutely love Kenzie but other people are playing better.
I agree with your take on 50!!!!❤
