He's not the only famous democratic socialist in existence (some examples MLKJ, FDR, JFK, Truman, LBJ, and Theodore Roosevelt). Do me a favour and stop criticizing Bernie based on a label and actually read into most of his policies because in the end there is not one singular definition of anything in politics. I could give you 3 separate definitions for communism that people assume are correct. When you judge anyone based upon a label that doesn't have one singular meaning (nothing in politics has one singular meaning) you will only retain a very rudimentary and basic understanding of politics.

Unlike other politicians who only speak up when they feel something is becoming socially acceptable, Bernie stood up for disenfranchised groups when it was deeply unpopular. Why? Because he actually cares about people.
If he cares why does he support socialism. He clearly doesn’t have the US in his best interest. Socialism will never work.

@Begin Transformation The whole point of calling them "gay rights" is because gay (and LGBT+ as well) people are so often discriminated against in ways that they wouldn't if it weren't for their membership of this minority group. "gay panic" is still a defense in court that, IMO, should get any attorney who argues it disbarred and a lengthened prison term for the accused should they be convicted. LGBT+ individuals can still be denied service or employment because of their membership in this group. Same sex parents are still routinely denied the right to adopt a child because they are of the same sex. For sake of arguement on this point, I will grant you the common talking about "every child deserves a mother and a father", but, wouldn't you agree that a life in a home with two loving, caring, capable parents is better than a life in an orphanage or the foster care system?

Issues that the president (of both parties) has been ignoring for decades and decades.
