This is definitely one of my favorite barbs. They stay fairly small, are not agressive and can easily spawn in a permanent breeding tank. Just get the eggs/fry some cover and there will be small barbs allover the place. No, one will not get as many as with this method, but it is basically no effort involved with a permanent breeding tank (I´m a lazy aquarist). Puntius oligolepis is similar in behaviour, but gets a little bigger. Nice video on how pro´s do it!
I been looking into getting cherry barbs and this might be the video that convinces me I should do so looking forward to watching how it goes! Also I would like to see a how to breed siamese algae eaters in the future. I been trying to look up how to breed them and couldn't find anything useful.
Great to see you back on the circuit mate👍Love the neon tetra breeding programme, having a go at that as we speak. Can you tell me, is your workshop a timber shed or is it part of the main house? Like a garage or something.
Hello. My new cherries mate every day. I try and put them in a breeder box with yarn mop when I can catch them. I have captured some eggs in a breeder box. There is a lot of cyclops and other critters in the box too. Are cyclops or other critters harmful to eggs?
Do you need to separate them for a period of time before breeding? I have some in a community tank and want to move them over to another tank to breed.
Hi Mark! I have four very fat, with eggs I hope, Cherry Barbs but have lost both my males. I recently got a male but he is very tiny and doesn't seem interested in the girls yet. What age ( so size ) will he start doing the business? Thanks x
Finally, the cherry barb. I've been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Mark
