    Hey Everyone,
    Hope all is well... The floors are finally finished!! Here is the last video with us spreading poly. We used a 50/50 Poly/Mineral Spirits Mix for the first 6 coats and a 75/25 Mix on the 7th to finish up. Sanded with 240 after the 4th coat, 400 after the 5th coat & 1000 after the last coat. On to bigger and better things now, lol... stay tuned for more & thanks for stopping by!

    Welcome to the ShabinLife channel here on CZcams!
    We’re Dayna & David and we're excited to share our homestead journey with you. We currently own a home on a 1/4 acre in a suburb of Pennsylvania & have been trying to maximize usage of our small plot to it’s fullest potential. In 2017, after dreaming for years of owning enough land to live a more simple and sustainable, self sufficient lifestyle, we acquired 18 Acres & began the journey of building our future homestead! Our land is quite far from where we currently reside which limits our trips to the property to once a month or so. For the time being we post new videos (or at least try, lol) once a month with updates on how things are moving forward, our pits and peaks as well as sharing all the priceless info we’ve learned from the amazing channels we subscribe to here on CZcams. Please join us on our ShabinLife adventure as we continue Living Simple & Loving Nature.

    Would you be willing to share an update on how the floors have held up after a couple years? Seriously considering this with a new project.

    Thanks for documenting how you did this! I’m currently building an office shed for myself and am so glad you explained how to do a plywood floor. Looks amazing and affordable.
    I’ve worked with wipe on poly for woodworking projects and it definitely can be finicky and takes MANY coats with sanding in between. It’s frustrating for a small project, let alone an entire floor. Good job!

      Hey F&L, sorry for the delayed reply... Thanks so much, greatly appreciated! We used Minwax Oil Based Early American for the Floors & Shiplap Ceiling. Hope this helps a bit... Have a great weekend!

    Did you glue the plywood to concrete?

    • @shabinlife
      @shabinlife  Před 8 měsíci

      Hey Jesse, thanks for the message... You may have already checked out some of the other videos, but there was an Advantek Subfloor already laid & the finished plywood floor was glued and nailed to the subfloor (no concrete at all but in the crawlspace). Hope this helps a bit... Have a great holiday season!
