Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the award winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. I like that you can see the earth 42 Miles at 2:04 when the spider is about to bite him
I guess Marvel was literally foreshadowing the movie.
3:07 - "LOOK AT ME!" is kinda great tbh. They still play him a bit of a joke villain in this scene and the next few, but the way the spots get bigger as he shouts, how they start connecting to each other with black inky lightning, the way his voice distorts, ugh. Even when he's mostly a joke, he still has this weird, unsettling vibe that peeks through now and then.
There’s something distinctly unsettling about his loping gangly run in that moment, and I genuinely can’t tell if it’s just his blank sketched-in look or if they’ve actually subtly messed with his proportions a bit to make his arms look more stretched out and zombie-ish
Honestly even if he's a joke right this moment, he's terrifyingly competent,
he's chubby and not particularly strong physically
He's doesn't know how to use his powers yet
And yet he still kept up with miles for an AWFUL long time
These little hints at how severely underestimated he constantly is makes me love this movie even more
Not to mention his nochalant behavior despite being so angry....he acts casual and cool but he's _really_ pissed off
This is very well done because it's "teasing" that this villain will be the most incredible and scariest villain ever for spiderman and yet they end it with a joke. It's a glimpse of the terror.
@@LordSvzklx Look at the frame right before he gets clocked by that bagel at 2:20. He's always had weirdly long arms. You're totally right though that desperate charge is pretty terrifying.
0:41 the moment that changed the future as we know it. The one line that sealed the deal.
To be fair, no one would want to be remembered as the villain of the week
If only miles was kind of understanding and talked to him and apologized.... Spot would have been a good guy, probably.
*_“What’d you call me?”_*
yup
@sheshasaibabagujjari3481 nah the dude was delusional and just blamed him on a bunch of tiny stuff while almost everything in his case was by choice.
He brought the spider to their world and it just randomly beat miles.
He just got hit by a baggle and that's it.
He decided to work for kingpin on the collidor and stayed in the room even though everyone else ran away at that point.
He's making up excuses for his crappy attitude
His origin story speech culminating into the 'look at me' is really powerful and is full of rage, despite it being surrounded by very comedic lines and moments.
Yeah, I mean, him kicking his own butt is funny in a vacuum, but imagine being him. Imagine pouring your heart out to the man who wronged you, and then making a fool of yourself and getting hurt in the process. The frustration and agony must have been insane.
"Bad guy, he's barely a Villain of the Week"

That was literally the bare minimum but Yea alright
@@yourunclejohn984 Spider-Man is a hero?? Spoilers dude
Why would he hesitate about that?
As Bruce Wayne said, "In all my years of fighting crime, every villain sees himself as the hero to his story."
In.a way Bruce is one as well. Billionaire playboy dresses up as a very to beat up poor people and refused to fix the problem permanently. If he keeps Aaj the villainsc in cryogenic containers where they are I'm induced coma. Lots of Gotham's problems could be solved. Then he just needs to punish corrupt governors and dirty cops
Pretty... poetic?
Yep
1:55 “…you did TO me, what I did FOR you?” perfectly showcases his victimhood complex. Though unintentional, his work for Kingpin started everything and he got better superpowers right off the bat, perfect for a physics career. But he blames Spiderman for making the best of the accident while he wallowed in self-pity.
@MynameisBrianZX I mean he's still a victim. Even though his portals could provide literal INFINITE ENERGY (put portals facing each other one above the other and put water in them and now there's infinite energy to harvest) the fact he has no face and looks like a humanoid cow means he's probably gonna get rejected unless he makes his own energy company. Seriously the lack of face means he's probably going to get rejected from any possible job because first impressions still matters. And yeah you can see in his backstory his own family and friends don't want him anymore
I loved how miles and the dad both raise their fist together like father and son.
Righttt
Me too.
Bro I love paying attention to Jeff attempting to keep up in these chase scenes LMAO. He always finally catches up and then something wild immediately occurs next. I feel that’s what led into the “Spider-Man why did you create that guy” line as if you watched, he’d finally arrived towards the end of Spot’s explanation of his origin.
I also love how Jeff puts his fist up at 3:10 even after being tossed around by portals and even after Spot got angry. Dude was ready to throw down with a multiversal threat
@@camnunes8847 LMAO your reply just made this twice as funny looking back

I kind of adore the lack of animosity Miles' Dad has to Spider-Man: it feels like so many other of Spider-Man's close cop allies are so begrudgingly get along with em, but Miles' Dad just has banter with him for the most part. The most it ever comes to is just genuine exasperation.
Jeff used to not like ANY Spider-Man in the previous Spider-Verse film, but then learned to accept him towards the end.
So his tolerance of Miles' Spider-Man is just his character development at work here.
1:17 i love how this references the scene from the first movie, like father like son i guess
1:36 maybe this one is like when original peter parker saved miles
I hope Rio does that in BTSV
The Spot is such a good villain 😂😂😂 “I’ll make YOU RESPECT MEEEEEEE” *kicks his own ass into another dimension* 💀
Technically it's his own fault for working with the villain in the first place
Ikr, what a stupid accusation
By his own logic, he was turned into spot > by the collider explosion > by spiderman > by the 42 spider > by himself. Spot is as, if not more, guilty as Miles for causing his own situation.
Or maybe he is Just underpaid and exploded in a contract? Idk
That’s what immature bad people do. They blame everyone but themselves.
That is one thing you'll never hear...A villain taking responsibility for his/her own actions...
2:57 the way he says "my FACE", feels like he's lost Everything literally
LOL
I mean he really didn’t.. think of how many jobs he could do seamlessly and instantly with that. If his family just laughs at him they were pretty awful people to begin with tbh
@carterdelaney4648 I mean the face is one of the most important aspects to communicate with other people. With no face lots of people will want nothing to do with you.
He and MCU Peter have that in common
I, ironically, thought Jason Schwartzman was gonna be an okay choice for the voice of the Spot. The guy who voiced Jesper from Klaus? No way....
....I can now say, irrevocably, in my opinion, he is the best voice in the movie. He's able to go from funny, to intimidating, to scary so seamlessly, I love it! Can't wait for what he does in Beyond the Spider-Verse!

so if Miguel knew of this info 2:04 of Prowler Miles was supposed to be bit by 42 spider than he still would become Spider-Man. everyone in this thread is correct.
prowler miles would've became spider-man had it not been for the collider.
