- A simple tool to test for grossly leaking fuel injectors or a clogged fuel filter.
OTC 5630 Fuel Pressure Test Kit
amzn.to/3aEm3V6
- Rear SAM 20A #4 fuse
- 55-59 PSI when engine on, constant pressures within 55-59 under various loads and RPM
- No pressure drop when engine is off after 1 min to test for leaking injectors
Didn't know i had to set it to position 2 in order to test the pressure, thank you!!!
Excellent video! I have an 03 sedan, thanks for sharing!
great demo, I'm interested in catch can kit. how did you install it and does it work or not ?
I have a video on it
@@SteU4IA can you send me the link of the video?
At idling the fuel pressure initially was 55 psi but after revving the engine dropped to 50 psi to stay 50 psi at idling. With the engine switched off the system held the pressure at 50 psi. Is it normal? Thanks.
Excellent video thanks
Great stuff man!
Hi! If i have only 3.55 to 3.8 do i have a problem that causes wrong fuel and get correcrion +10?
Hello. Thanks for your excellent videos. I have a 2005 C230 coupe. Your videos have come in handy. I have a question. Did you ever smoke test for an intake vacuum leak when you were dealing with your mass airflow sensor? I’d like to perform a smoke test, but I’ve been looking for pointers on where to introduce the smoke and the best place to seal the air intake.
Buy a plug & display Lufi XF OBD2 to mount on your dashboard.
For my 1.8 litre engine at 750rpm, air cond switched on the MAF at 4.6g/second, MAP at -7.35psi, throttle body valve position at 14.9% open, O2 sensor reading at 0.65 to 0.75v and many other parameters. I record occasionally, using a mounted handphone, the display of my OBD2 kept mounted on dashboard. I will only glanced at OBD2 occasionally.
I could observe whenever the supercharger is boosting air pressure into the air intake manifold.
Annually put in a car of fuel injector cleaner and top up gasoline to 90%.
Hey can you show me how do you setup your oil catch can?
Regrads from Germany
I am interested with your oil separator can, seem the blue hose end up with open to air hose, could you explain this as I want to install it on my car same type with yours
One end is attached to the valve cover nipple and the other end is connected to the PVC tubing that connects to the intake system (port located right after the MAF)
Cars N'Boba, thanks. Just to be sure, do you mean the Valve cover nipple is the one next to the engine oil intake cap ?
Yes, that's the one!
Hi, I am back. When I wanted to install according to your recommendation, the work shop technician gave me input that the hose from the crank case should the one that go after the throtle body. What do you think ?
Yes that's also a PCV line, unfortunately it's very far down and hard to access or service. The top one is the valve body ventilation line, it's not as effective as tapping into the lower crank case line (the one you mentioned) but if you run into trouble with the line, or it kinks, you'll have no way to trouble shoot it unless you remove the entire upper intake.
But your not really testing the injectors, your testing the fuel pump and how much pressure its giving in the fuel lines to the injectors, not the actual injectors 🤨🤔
I think at least he did the test which confirms the fuel injectors are not leaking and fuel header pressure is still holding around 55 psi after switching off the fuel pump.😅
good vid. thank you.
Well done very informative !!Where is the fuel pressure regulator located
Thanks
The regulator is the circulator piece on the metal fuel rail.
can somehow tell if the pressure regulator on the rail is bad or good ?
good video :)
The valve is located after the regulator, if the pressure you are reading is good, the regulator is doing fine.
I watch this video and follow or I did the same you did but mine has no fuel pressure. Can you help me to guide what to do pls thanks in advance please.
