17:10 Best advice ever. I did drugs for 10 years because I didn't believe a word of that. Been clean and sober for 17 years now. Most the mates I cleaned up with a dead now because they didn't take take that advice to heart. It takes guts to share your feelings. Nothing "unmanly" about doing things that take guts.

Al, funny you mention the tip about saving old input shafts.
When I was in Uni getting my learning on in everything diesel, my professor had told us about it. At first, we were like “why? Don’t clutches come with an alignment tool already?”. Well, when we got to the clutch module, having remembered what we said, he pulled out one of those clutch tools and said “okay, smartass: you’ll get an A IF you can line up this clutch only using that tool and what it says in the manual. If you can’t get it done, you get an F.” So there we were, struggling to get it done. We admit defeat and as we were approaching him about it, he pulls out an old input shaft he had finished machining a short while earlier. He goes “now try this and see what happens”.
We admit defeat and from that day on we learned never to doubt the advice of an old mechanic. He told us all later that he was never really going to fail us because we made him laugh while knowing we’d fail to accomplish it with that tool. I miss that guy and he taught me heaps, though I never did make it in the field as a diesel tech. Got all misty eyed looking back on that tip.
Anyway, just putting it out there. Don’t trust the plastic “key” for clutches, especially on heavy equipment.

just to back up Al's words about going to see your GP, absolutely agree, I have just gone through that, started by using the counselling service that my work provides, they told me to go see my GP and ask them to prepare a mental health plan which for me involved seeing a psych, all of which was a new experience for me. Talking to my psych was the best thing I could have done and it greatly helped me through my recent marriage break up and some other dark days. And I got through my stuff with no medication, just learning about what was causing my stuff and dealing with it was enough. Please don't hesitate to start your journey if you're not feeling right, yes it's scary and it can be uncomfortable at times but it's worth it. Don't keep thinking you can deal with it on your own. Sometimes we just can't.

For myself 31 someone who always thought they were too strong to get rocked by mental health, it in the last 3 weeks has given me a massive wake up call. I woke up one morning feeling great as I usually do when I first see my family of a morning and then it hit me like a hammer for the first time ever, my entire world was changed, I made an appointment that day to see my GP which was somewhat helpful and then the following week had to call the helpline number cause I was so lost. The helpline gave me all the right steps forward for getting the help I needed and haven't looked back yet, dont be ashamed or embarrassed guys and do not only do it for your family and friends do it for YOURSELF, being day 3 week 3 I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. #itaintweaktospeak

Sometimes feels like being suffocated and there are no options left, absolutely alone, but getting perspective from others can take the blinders off and open up real ways to manage issues. Sitting at the lights in Sydney traffic in my silly-nissan and a whole bunch of ratbag P-Platers pulled up looking for a race in their dads Falcon and being yahoos, until they looked over at me and were not quite sure if I was fresh out of prison or on the way to kill someone... they went very, very quiet and just motored off. On the remote bleeder you can make the line long enough to reach the clutch master cylinder and you can bleed it right back into the master to clear out all the air from the lines

You 'could', but you'd be pumping back into the reservoir potentially contaminated fluid. A big part of the bleed process is in removing not only air, but moisture and dirt and wear particles.

Don’t take yourselves out guys, you’ve gotta outlive your enemies!
In the U.K. your GP can usually fast track you to the front of the queue for some counselling if you’re in a really bad way, failing that… Don’t be ashamed of turning up at A and E if the bad thoughts get too much.
It’s not our faults they’ve underfunded mental health services, and the staff at A and E won’t judge you, or make you feel like you’re wasting their time.
