  • Mostly stuff I've not put up before, with a few notable exceptions.
Goals from many players including Barnes, Robson, Trewick, McKenzie, Moses, Zondervan, Owen, Martin, Whitehead, Giles. One Ally Btown goal is early 70s not mid I think.

The yellow and green striped shirt is the best football shirt ever. And Cyrille Regis a fantastic player.

What a time to be a Baggie! I was fortunate enough to witness all of the home goals and many away. Over 30 years later then I have yet to witness another Albion side that play (ed) the game with the exciting attacking style.
Watching this was like being young again ... It really does not feel that it was so long ago.

What a brilliant reminder of the excellent football played at the time. It seems unfair to pick anyone out but had forgotten what quicksilver feet Tony Brown had...there are echos of this play in the current (2019) team. Thanks for sharing

Those goals at Old Trafford near Christmas of 1978 were total magic - that 5-3 is still my favourite Albion match - the period top of Div One was unreal.

great footage, I'm a Manchester United fan but only started watching in 1983, saw some of these players playing for us, Robson, Moses, Barnes, Even Cunningham on loan briefly. yellow and green away kit is cool as you get!

Football has lost its wild origins these days.
Imagine a player like Willie Johnston these days?
Cruyff dying marked the end of the mischief in the Great Game.

Life in general has become sterile since those days. Many children no longer allowed out of their parents sight. I was going to the Hawthorns alone, about 3 miles from home, when I was 7. Same with school, walked the 3/4 mile there and back alone.

Ian Huntley is in prison. They should have beaten him to death with hanging drowning on Christmas October.
Kids these days have them teleohones.
      I blame Ant and Dec.

It's Mackenzie, btw. How he ended up with West Brom I've no idea! He was supposed to be the part ex for Barnes, but you sold him for cash to Leeds, and then for some reason Bond sold him to you anyway and bought Martin O'Neill instead - Madness! Mackenzie was a good player who is now an IT expert!
