A great collection of ELVIS CHRISTMAS music. Its just CRAZY from two albums RCA has really mass produced dozens of different ELVIS Christmas releases. Hope you and your future ex-wife and the little kitty and doggie and all ELVIS fans have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR'S. Oh and love the tiny record player so cooool.

I totally agree on how many different compilations of Christmas albums are out there… from only 2 actual Christmas albums and one single hit “If Every Day Was Like Christmas”. Of course it was very weird for “Mama Liked The Roses” on Camden release. 🤔

Oh, I highly recommend picking up the 1982, “Memories of Christmas“ release as it includes a few unreleased, (at the time) tracks, and still one exclusive unreleased “O Come All Ye Faithful” and the complete unedited Merry Christmas Baby and that includes the partial guitar overdub by Eddie Hinton. The absolute best mix of that song ANYWHERE !!! 😊

Hi Christian, I notice the picture of Elvis on the Elvis Christmas Album where he is wearing a teal or blue jacket with two white stripes is from the movie Speedway, which is of course the most Christmasy movie of all Elvis movies, I guess... Anyway, the reissue in '75 which has the same Elvis picture would have been after the sale of the Elvis back catalog in '73, so the album you hold in your hand was 100% RCA profit after production/shipping costs and 0% for Elvis and the Colonel. Merry Christmas, Elvis from all your friends at RCA!!!

I literally own over 2 dozen compilations of the 2 original albums and it’s sickening how RCA could’ve just kept re-issuing the 2 original albums to start with. just think how many more sales could’ve been tacked on to those original sales??? 😮 😊

Yeah, I never understood Mama Liked the Roses being tacked on the Camden release. C'mon guys, Christmas is supposed to be a Happy, Festive Time. To think someone at RCA said "Hey let's finish the album off with a song about someone putting roses on his mothers grave, we'll put it right after "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me", you know, to attract the fans with seasonal depressive disorder. Have a Very Merry Christmas and pop on an Elvis's Christmas Album but maybe skip the Camden...that's one finale we can do without LOL.
I hear you but it spoke to Elvis, who a decade later very much mourned his mother. Christmas can be very nostalgic about lost family and this song speaks to that as well as the family Bible etc. Also works great as a Mother’s Day song! It also replaced straight up gospel tunes witn marginal connection to the nativity of the Lord.
It was RCA’s ploy to include the song to increase sales.
Mama Liked the Roses was intended to be the “Hit” single, but the DJ’s chose otherwise and the public reacted, hence, “The Wonder Of You” became the hit. 😊
In the end, the ploy worked, as the RCA Camden version was certified Diamond 💎 !!! 10 million (10x Platinum) 😊
