One character that should’ve made the list is Carrie White. All she wanted was a normal life, one her religious zealot mother, Margaret, refused to give her. Add the torment her peers piled on her, and it was a matter of time before she put the Black Prom, in which she telekinetically killed 71 people-73 if you take Margaret and herself when she destroyed her house out of despair, having killed Margaret in self-defense-in her hometown’s history.
Agreed
Agreement
Agreed
I agree. Never watched it. Mom and dad watched and told never to watch. But I agree
If you ask me, Carrie White should’ve been on this list, yeah she’s a horror killer icon, but she’s more of a victim than a villain. Think about it, she was abused by a fanatically religious mother, and bullied at school. Like bruh, all it takes is a serious of bad events to turn somebody into a killer.
True
Still a killer though. Stop excusing killers!
@@Denis-89 I’m not saying she was a killer at heart she was just pushed to far. Carrie felt more like a victim than an outright villain.
Anakin Skyfather went from Jedi Knight to Sith Lord to Jedi hero once again.
Matilda - Matilda having neglectful, obnoxious Parents at home, & Monster of a School Principal in Ms Trunchbull at school.
problem there, she has a happy ending at the end, most of these characters dont
@@ellnatsKeyword there Most...Not All.
No, intelligent, can do magic and has a great teacher.
Carrie White from Carrie (1976) & Andrew Detmer from Chronicle (2012) definitely deserve to be on this list.
The Alien Franchise (as well as Ellen Ripely’s horrific journey) should’ve ended with Aliens.
Agreed.
Agreed. Everything after that really stunk.
Aliens ended on such a good note. Poor Ellen. The third movie really sh-t on that.
@@gabem736 She even lost her second chance of being a mother in the third as well.
"You are on this Council, but you will not be granted the rank of Master."
"What?!"
Which gets even more confusing since he'd had a padiawn of his own he was master to in Asoka
Imagine stewie skywalker not being granted a master
This is outrageous!
@@Gor85 it's unfair
you can be a jedi knight and have a padawan, just like when obi wan took anakin @@autumbreeze1129
Thor has been through so much. Over the course of the films, lost his father, his mother, his brother (several times), the love of his life, best friends, fellow Avengers, his entire kingdom, and fell into depression when a tactic error caused half of all life in the universe to be wiped out.
Anne Hathaway only had fifteen minutes of screen time in "Les Miserables", and she absolutely made us feel for Fantine as her life spirals out of control. I found it more effective that "I Dreamed a Dream" occurred after Fantine is forced to prostitute herself to raise money for Cosette, as opposed to after getting fired, as in the stage show.
What makes it even more tragic is that the people who were taking care of her daughter were lying to her and making up excuses just to get money out of her for nothing more than greed and it led to her death. Makes my blood boil every time
I dreamed a dream by Ruthy henshall is the best live performance possibly in the entirety of broadway
Wanda: “I just want a happy ending😭”
Noni from Beyond the Lights as she attempted suicide, fell under the pressures of fame, got humiliated by her ex on national TV, dropped from her record label for it, and had a mother who prioritized her career over her mental health.
Not surprised that Anakin Skywalker made the list. After watching his entire story through the prequel and original trilogy, I’d say poor guy
Ya poor Anakin He was the choosing one
And on top of that the child actor who played him was bullied to the point where he went into a psych ward.
Yea, poor child murdering , wife abusing would be dictator.
Yes,he really has tragic story
Why is everyone still talking about the terrible prequels? Can’t they just disappear?
It was Sirius Black’s sufferings that made his death extremely tragic. It never fails to make me ugly cry whenever I see that film 😭😭😭
I always felt pity for Smegol. that damn ring took whatever
humanity away from him and turned him into the horrible Gollum.
Loki should've been on the list. He got beaten by the hulk, witness his future death, but more importantly.....
he has been falling for thirty minutes!!!
Tbf he asked for tht
Watched versions of his allies get turn into spaghetti. Spent centuries learning how to learn the specific mechanics for the throughput multiplier to get it done faster. Watching failure after failure each loop. Etc.
@@thedevilsrockstxr2309 the rag dolling?
@@davidchism6081 But he has been falling for 30 minutes. That's the worst and last but not least
@@waheedabdullah6371 but how did Loki know how long he'd been falling? No watch, no way to tell time.
Frodo didn’t conquer his temptation, it’s only because smegol attacked him and removed the ring, that Frodo was saved.
For over 20 years, Uma Thurman’s character Beatrix Kiddo is still one of my top 5 favorite movie antiheroes of all time.
💛
Katniss Everdeen should have been on the list. She lost everything!! Her family, best friend, innocence, and sanity.
Agreed. She went into the games just to save Prim and ended up with PTSD. She also had to be the symbol of the rebellion even though she never wanted to be. What's worse is that she was only 17 years old. No one should have to experience all of the trauma at that age.
Pietro was older than Wanda by 12 minutes
Came here to say this same thing lol
Katniss Everdeen(The Hunger Games franchise), Chuck Noland (Cast Away), Hugh Glass (The Revenant), Sarah Connor (The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day), David Drayton (The Mist), and Andre Hayworth (Get Out) deserves to be on the “honorable mentions” list.
Especially David Drayton. The end was completely devastating for him and even though it's a different ending than the story, Stephen King said he liked the ending in the movie better
A movie character who suffers a lot is Mollie Burkhart from “Killers of the Flower Moon” (2023). Her painful life includes many of her family members being murdered, her husband being one of the people responsible for those murders, her insulin getting poisoned, one of her daughters dying of whooping cough, and not getting sufficient justice for her dead relatives.
You need to watch more movies if this is your top 10!
Next top 10 Disney movie characters who suffered the most ❤
Simba would be my number 1 pick
The movie even have dogs and cats upset when Mufsa dies😢
And Elsa and Anna would be somewhere on there because of their rough childhood
Other honorable mentions
Clear Rivers - “Final Destination” (2000) & “Final Destination 2” (2003)
James “Logan” Howlett/Wolverine - “X-Men” Film Franchise (2000-)
Barbara “Barbi” Minerva/Cheetah - “Wonder Woman 1984” (2020)
Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 - “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” (2023)
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Cronin - “Drop Dead Fred” (1991)
Andy Barclay - “Child’s Play” Franchise (1988-)
Alice - Paul WS Anderson’s “Resident Evil” Franchise (2002-16)
Sarah Connor - “Terminator” Franchise (1984-)
Laurie Strode - “Halloween” Franchise (1978-)
Jamie Lloyd from Halloween 4, 5 and 6, Oh Dae-su from Oldboy and Carrie White from Carrie come to my mind.
I feel Alex Murphy (Robocop) should be on this list, especially how brutal his death was and then being aware of his life before being transformed into a cyborg.
I'm surprised no one from Requiem for a Dream is here, Marion lost her innocence and dignity, Harry his business and arm, Tyrone his freedom and "life", and Sara, the most innocent of them all, her sanity and everyone she loved, and all the characters lost their own dreams of fame, ambition, and happiness.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 4:14 Sirius Black, yup. I think he suffered the most.
I wanted to give Fantine and Celie a hug after their suffering. 😢😢😢😢😢
CARRIE WHITE should have been included on this list I agree.
But another one that should have been mentioned is MEG LOUGHLIN in The Girl Next Door movie. The ordeal she endured was completely horrific, inhumane, monstrous, and downright evil perpetuated by the worst of the very worst.
Celie on this list was unexpected. You aren’t wrong though
I’m sorry, but but no one got it worse than old boy
Can you do top 10 moments from the X-men 97 series since it's coming to it's season finale?
The Color Purple is by far Whoopi Goldberg's best film. I would have Sophie from Sophie's Choice and Dr Jean Grey from the X-Men series. Jean has the misfortune of dying three times in the series.
Even if it's two I say "Romeo and Juliet" as their families are in a hate/rage, they can't see their love and because of their families and other mistakes they have to suffer until each one commit suicide
What about
magneto- x men first class (mother killed in front of him at concentration camp)
Haymitch-the hunger games (family and gf killed, forced to watch kids he was close to die, and developed severe alcoholism)
Deadpool-Deadpool (got cancer, experimented on, lost the girl he loved)
El Diablo- suicide squad (accidentally killed family in a fire, died trying to save people)
Hugh Glass - The Revenant
Detective Nordberg - The Naked Gun
Quasimodo - The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
Peter Parker - Spiderman (All Adaptations)
Bruce Wayne - Batman (All Adaptations)
Rocket Raccoon - Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Precious should definitely be on the list!

Andy Barclay has to deal with chucky all the time since he was 6 years old, his mom was in a mental asylum, was adopted but his parents died to chucky also, witnessed multiple dead bodies, oof
Can't believe that Precious isn't on this list! It's one of the most depressing things I've ever seen.
How could Bobby Boucher not make the list??😢
Alternate Title:
Top 10 Movie Characters Who Could Use Some Therapy
This list blows hard
I think the saddest the saddest in my opinion. Is godzilla from 1998 , now hear me out .
He had his homed bomb
Grew very large so it was impossible to find mates ect .
Got attacked even though he's not really trying to kill anyone. Mainly cause he eats fish.
While patrolling or getting new food for his young. He hears their cries and races to them . When he finds them . He sniffsand nudges them . Trying to get them to wake up. When he fails he cries out .
Then when he attacks out of revenge .Any parent any who has lost a child would do the same.
He tries to get away only to be trapped with no way to defend himself.
He never got to raise his only surviving offspring .
Good list. I am just surprised Lilya from Lilya 4-Ever did not make the list. She was only a teenager in Russia, who got abandoned by her mother to go to America, had to prostitute her self just to live, was branded a whore by her best friend and got tricked into being sold into sex trafficking. At the end of the film, she committed suicide. I think that character has suffered the most in my opinion.
Gollum was soooo happy to get the ring at the end while falling into the fire.
Are these characters similar to Squidward?
What would happen if they became villains to put an end to their torment?
For me, it's Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Game franchise. Sis lost her whole family, got injured many times, almost dying at each time and kept coming back. Then she becomes a mother and wife. Survivor right there.
Also arthur fleck in joker
Beatrix Keadu is one of the best character ever made on movies , maybe the best female character on action movies , i wouldn't like to be on her way , she is truly ruthless against the ones who made her sofer
Celie taking the top spot (and for good reason) I did not see that coming
Poor Wanda. 🥺
frodo did not conquer his desire for the ring, he tried to take it for his own
Real tragic stories. Wanda Maximoff,Sirius Black,Anakin should ne higher. Top three. Real tragic story. Smeagol. He's really pathetic creature.Really sad life. Beatrix Kiddo,Elen Ripley is true hero. Celie seems really sad.We can understand. Still happy ending. Great video😊
Anakin was suffer too
Sirius Black and Frankenstein Monster are my favourites.
Almost every dystopian fictional character: Tris Prior (lost her parents & friends, betrayed by friends & brother, bullied verbally, physically, & sexually, & dies in the end)
Katniss Everdeen (lost many loved ones including her own sister, put through the wringer in the hunger games then war, suffered severe PTSD, nearly losing Peeta to death then hijacked cognition)
Tobias/Four Eaton (abuse by father, lied & manipulated by mother & Nita, lost many friends from enemies & lost longtime friend Uriah by his own actions, tortured by dauntless soldiers, mind controlled by Jeanine, lied to by his closest loved ones & allies, lost the love of his life, Tris)
Peeta Mellark (put through the wringer in the hunger games including being stabbed then near killed by electric force field, lost a leg in the books, tormented by abusive mother, lost friends, forced to be Snow’s propaganda pawn, & being hijacked)
The list goes on in this long line of tragedy 🥺😢😭
You forgot the GOAT
Mad Max
Can you do comic book origin of Marvel's Morph?
One character that should be on the list is Thor. Lost his brother, mother, father, friends, his kingdom; went to depression. Suffered a lot but still doesn't show his pain
What about Peter Parker in the MCU? HE'S LITERALLY THE LONELIEST FELLA NOW AND HE MIGHT WORK FOR THAT PSYCHOPATHIC EXCUSE OF A REPORTER, JAMESON!!!
The omission of Lisbeth Salander is craaazy
Oh Dae Sue from Oldboy is most definitely a characters you won't envy for. If you have seen the movie, i will understand why it's a crime the fact he wasn't mentioned on this list.
no Babadook?! thank goodness!
Anakin was trapped by servitude nearly every day of his whole life.
Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise. Had to watch everyone he loved either be killed by deadites or possessed by them and be forced to killed them. He also had to cut his own hand off because it was possessed and even killed an evil version of himself that sprouted from his body.
After Guardians of the Galaxy 3, you could make a case for rocket raccoon being on here
I never knew Bjork was such a great actress!
I didn’t look at this video yet, but my alter ego’s father, Rocky Balboa better be up there. He suffers way more than any other character. (Truly Dark Stuff!)
EXCELLENT WORK. WANDA AND SPIDER-MAN
Number 1 should us the audience who sat through the fast and furious franchise
Fun fact: they actually cut Anne Hathaway’s hair when she played Fantinr
Students from Battle Royale should be here, they all suffered so much at such a young age, from Shinji to Takako to even Mitsuko 😔
How was Precious not on this list?!
Or Ted from Ted
Thor Odinson- he lost his home, half his people and spiraled into depression. 😢
Top 10 Movie Characters Who Deserved Better please!
Skipping over the unknown amount of rape Beatrix had to endure while unconscious is crazy. Seriously messed up way to open a character for their arc
Zalmie Belinsky from American pop, He lost his father in Russia when his village was attacked by the Cossacks, then he lost his mother in the triangle shirtwaist factory fire, then he got hit with a bullet in the throat during the first world war (which took away his once brilliant singing voice), then later in life, after making connections with the mafia, he lost his wife to an attempted gang assassination, and then later on, he ended up losing his son, Benny, after he enlisted in World War II, and the last we see of him is on a televised court hearing where he apparently spent some time in prison, before deciding to testify against his mafia friends.
For me, David "Dave" Boyle from "MYSTIC RIVER" should be somewhere up there..
Vanessa Ives from the Penny Dreadful series. Cause damn .. that girl got no break. She was sought out by every dark force 😣
"While Frodo conquers his temptation"
The frick version did you watch?
At the last minute, Frodo gave in to the ring.
It only ended up destroyed, and Frodo freed of it, because Golem bites off the finger the ring was on and then falls into the lava of Mt. Doom with it.
What about Thor. Lost his mum, his dad, his brother, his best friend, his home, his teammate and his girlfriend
Seth Brundle should have been on this list
Alyssa from silent hill? She was a child when she was taken advantage of and tortured. Screams vengeance to me
Or Tim Robbins character in mystic river
Remember; Ellen Ripley also DIED in 3, only to be cloned many times, given an identity crisis, and... well, put in a really really weird movie.
Hey watchmojo please make a top 10 sci-fi movies of our childhood of 2000s please like the last Mimzy gives
Arther Fleck
Joker
John Kramer, Rick Grimes, and Jason Voorhees.
Thanos ruined many characters life
Poor Sirius! 😢
Anakin Skywalker was never a Jedi Master.
I would also add Michael Corleone from the Godfather
I love Bjork ♥️♥️♥️
I easily would've added Solomon Northup to this list
Right, how does Eric Matthews from the Saw movies not get on here?
I think Laurie strode should be here
Thor, Carrie, Sarah Connor, Syndey Prescott
Okay how in the name of Veterans Day was Rambo not featured on this list all he wanted was to rest but the sheriff drew first blood and sense then he’s never caught a break
which movie is that in the thumbnail?
Random but why did I think of the guy from evil dead who got a nail gun to the face, beaten with a crowbar, stabbed with a syringe; etc lol
How you gonna have Ripley in the Thumbnail but have her be an honorable Mention? She has suffered so much. Not physically so much but yeah..
Can't remember the character's name but the main character from the movie The Nightingale.
