  • A review on my Sherco 300SE Factory Edition after three years and 250 hours with some highlights from the best rides I've done on the bike. It's been a great bike and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the brand.
    Pros: excellent motor and power delivery with the electronic power valve, good suspension, well built OEM parts, great handling.
    Cons: Heavy, notchy shifting and hits neutral often, air filter access is awful.
    Stay tuned, new bike announcement soon!

    I can't believe that people stress over how the plastics line up... It's a freakin dirt bike!!!

    I was all about sherco, still own three 2 and 4t but fell in love with Betas and now own three of those 2 and 4t. Need to sell a couple shercos but still love them

    I had a 22 Sherco 300 and completely agree with your review. Great bike overall.

    Great to hear your final review. What's the plan for the 300 SEF?

      I will be keeping the SEF for a while still.

    Hi Greg. Great review. I ride a 2022 Sherco 300 SE. Factory. I love the bike. The shift shaft broke on my bike as well. My dealer tells me I am the first to report it. Did you replace it yourself? If so did you have to move the motor forward to allow the shift shaft to clear the frame tube on the right side?Thanks

      Mine broke at the beginning of a road trip, 15 hours of driving only to have it break after one hour of riding. Luckily, MotoXperts in Utah was able to overnight the part in from Sherco and fix it in one day. I only lost one day of riding so they really saved my trip! This is a big reason I have 2 bikes now, always have backup on a big trip. The shop did have to tilt the motor to get the shaft out.

      Yes I remember that story. Moving the motor makes it a bigger job. Time to roll up my sleeves. Thanks for the reply

    I couldn't fall in love with my '22 leftover 250, so I sold it to a friend who loves it.
    My biggest peeves you mentioned right away: working on it sucks (they hold some parts on with 3 different socket/torx sizes... big facepalms everywhere); air filter design is horrid.
    Loved the motor, but hated going to carb after being on a TPI. TPI has issues but that near-instant throttle response is hard to ditch. Now I'm on TBI, it's even better.
    I'm holding out for Sherco to get with the times in 2025, I think a TBI Sherco or similar would be a game changer* just like the XC-Ws.

      @PNWEnduro  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It's unfortunate Sherco pushed back the TBI another year, a lot of people are switching brands. The 2025's should have some major changes but you never know as we all thought that would happen in 2024.

      @PNWEnduro  Před 3 měsíci +1

      2024 Sherco has the same frame. 2025’s should have new frame, tbi motor and new plastics but we won’t know for sure for a few months still.

    How about smooth shifting? My 2019 300sef is notchy, and I have heard a lot of other Shercos are the same.

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Před 19 dny

      Somewhat notchy and hits neutral more than any bike I’ve ridden.

    Does your smart carb idle hang after a long hard pull

    • @PNWEnduro
      @PNWEnduro  Před 3 měsíci

      It’s a problem in the winter when it’s cold and wet out. Condensation builds on the slide causing it to stick. Unfortunately it’s a flaw in the Smartcarb.

    • @TheKitchenTechnician
      @TheKitchenTechnician Před 3 měsíci

      Maybe they need to Teflon coat the slide.

    Dont do it and switch. The sherco is better than the KTM brands

      I found the KTM to be the top bike once they came out with the new TBI models. The updated suspension on the new KTM's are magical as well. You can leave them stock or if you really want a super plush bike, spend $400 and you will swear you're on a factory sponsored machine. Love the Sherco though... All three of the main manufactures are a win!
