@@santicheeks1106 theres a point in the last level when its a pushing match on a door between russians on one side and germans on the other, the russians push it open and a few germans are knocked down while the rest run away. The russians gun down the germans that fell down

Dude, try to watch closely to the german soldiers, some of them are heavily bandage in the head, torso and even without helmets with a full bandage covering their faces, some uniforms with that star emblem for their "bravery", and the orchestral music that can be hear for motivation to keep fighting even if they already know that they are going to die.

@Savo I hope you don't mean Sledgehammer's WW2, it had an actual concentration camp in it after all. It was kind of important to include this in a World War 2 game.
I felt goosebumps after hearing General MacArthur's speech following to the Japanese surrender and Treyarch's summary about World War II.

WaW will always be my favorite CoD. It had one of the best campaigns, the multiplayer experience was one of the best and it introduced nazi zombies. Back then you had to complete the campaign to unlock nazi zombies and upon competition was an awesome surprise. I really wish I could go back to when this game was in its prime, I miss it.

LuciousLoafers This game showed what the engine could be used to make. This game felt just like CoD 4 but it caught the gritty, disgusting and disturbing vibe that WWII gave off and it wasn’t censored or PC. They went all out with this game and I feel WaW doesn’t get near enough love or attention. Black Ops wasn’t bad at all either. Overrated games like Black Ops 2 and 3 over shadowed these games.
Same, I had awesome times in this game, dual mag mp40 with stopping power....and the fact they were not politically correct and portrayed war for what it really is and what happened made it better
Agreed, simply one of the best and truly awesome. Great campaign and the multiplayer was wicked good. I miss playing this too man no better feeling than ripping up online with a Garand

Fun fact about my family, my great grandfather was the captain of one of those landing supply ships(the ones that deployed the Higgins), he actually lost quite a few high school buddies in pele as well, also most likely because of the war he despises sea food, like at the age of 91 he makes vocal statement about how much he dislikes sea food

I think there were more FW-200's flying over Stalingrad on that level then were actually made IRL lol.
There were also King Tiger wrecks in that mission. 1942-1943 is a little bit early for that. 😄
Also I don’t recall the Fw 200 being used as a bomber on the eastern front (mainly a transport). The heinkel he 111 or Junkers Ju 88 would have been a better choice for that level.

God knows how many time’s I replayed that game as a kid. We need a reboot of the game.
i love the scene at around 3:00, it was a neat twist on the usual d-day scenario (im by no means saying this scenario never happened in real life, just cool to see it in a different theatre) by having it be in japan with the landing craft tanks rolling up on the beach along with your guys and you're just completely kicking the defendings side ass from the get-go
The Battle of Peleliu was on Peleliu Island in the Marianas, not Japan. It was also one of many _many_ amphibious landings undertaken in world war 2, particularly in pacific. Operation Overlord (D-Day) was not the only example of such an amphibious landing.
Also contrary to world at war's depiciton, the landing did NOT go as smoothly as the game. It took basically an entire day to move off of the beach, and the 2nd day was when they made a move on the airfield which would be depicted in the next mission. Also the main thing that inflicted the most casualties for marines happened to be heat exhaustion, since temperatures were up to 115 degrees farenheit during the battle for the island. Fighting technically continued until 1947 when the last Japanese resistance hiding out in the island's caves finally were convinced to surrender.

Bf1 was overall the least “real” looking and feeling BF game ever made. It was an absolutely poor testament too ww1, and failed in many ways to capture the mind-bendingly horrific events that took place during that time. It was still a fun game, I just feel like they missed a big opportunity.

I still play this to this day and still think it looks good on the most part, but those distant shots (all the boats moving through the water) really show its age.

it's interesting that the animation of the b17 makes it seem like it crashes a lot farther away than it does, so that it makes it seem like the player has traveled a lot further than they actually have when they reach the crash site.

World at War was EASILY my favorite CoD. Cant count the number of times I beat the campaign and played zombies after school when I was a kid. Stayed up till 3am many a nights playing multi-player and fixing classes. I remember writing in my notebooks at school too class setups to try when I got home 😂😂 Love WaW

When I decided to play this game on PC a bit, seeing the Fw-2000s were low detail just upset me so much. But I have no clue what I expected.
I had a Xbox mod for this but I could never get past the mission with resnov without it crashing but it would display the script of how the ai teammates would react if the player went on ahead before the game wants them to it was really interesting stuff

Note the lack of 2/4 of her 5inch gun mounts. and the CIWS on her superstructure and tomahawk missle launchers. Also all the battleships in the background look like copy pasted New Jersey models. XD

I played Vendetta, and at the beginning part where you jump into the bar, if you stay out just long enough to grab an MP40, and hop into the bar, you can glitch Reznov from running into the bullets AND hide him from the sniper. Even if you alert the patrol and the sniper, and the continuous waves of German soldiers that spawn, eventually if you mow enough of them down they all stop spawning and he tells you how close that was. All my years of playing, I had assumed that it was impossible to keep him alive and messed around with a bunch of settings (Turns out he has a ton of health, and when you trigger the guards it gets set to 1), but eventually I managed to do this and I was so impressed. In the event the game is glitched, and something they literally coded specifically to kill you (or at least Reznov), if you somehow manage to survive it, there's special dialogue in place. When I realized this I was so proud of the game developers, and this game will forever be my favorite.
The intro is so classic !
God that entire ending sequence from planting the flag to the treaty aboard the USS MacArthur is such a god tier moment in gaming.
