    So the red Prince was the first character I had teamed up with, and I'm not going to lie I wasn't paying too much attention to his story/mission. So when we go to Reaper's Coast and I just out of nowhere to get jumped and died, I had PTSD from that ambush ever since. So when I restarted the game with my friend, was playing a lizard person but not the prince, I was telling my friend to prepare for an ambush only to not find it lol.

    Love the red prince! I played him as summoner way before I could have known about the egg you get at the end and the red dragon made the last boss a piece of cake

      @@OneMoreBookMatt It's kind of a spoiler! I don't know if you'd really want to know if you're interested in playing. But very long story super short, yep you get a red dragon.

    I like to think he becomes the Red Emperor at some point. Fallen heroes is only 2 years after so maybe there is still time? Is the ancient empire even mentioned in Divinity II? Because according to this game dragons are brought back, but in Divinity two most "dragons" are used by the Black Ring so maybe something happened in between then.

      Yeah, plenty of things to be explained for sure. Unfortunately there no definitive answer on a lot of it yet at least

      @@MortismalGaming, Sadha tells him literally to "take the egg" and set if afire to birth a baby dragon: I did exactly that with the Red Prince, and she got very very angry (the baby dies if you actually touch the egg, you're supposed to set it afire directly?).
      Sadly for Sadha, I was in a very bad mood after the fight in the arena we won hanging by our teeth (after what felt like an hour and several scrolls of resurrection, the AI seemed set against us, badly - also, we were only level 19, they were 2o, or 18/19, not sure).
      So, she died.
      The Red Prince, and the game, didn't seem to care...
      Got the Prince of Shadow show up and thank him, and that was it.
      Seems in the journal, I checked, ultimately the entry is the same, something like "the Red Prince did right by his Empire, now on to take care of Dallis"
      So it seems the decision (I did not exactly "decide", but whatever) is really up to the player: do you think giving Dragons to this already"ruling class" of Lizards, with ideas of imperialism just like the humans, a good idea?
      She did turn to "the bad side" rather easily, instead of for instance looking for the Red Prince's help...
      So, ultimately, I'm ok with that blunder. And anyways...been keeping my saves clean lately: I had none before entering the arena, even later I think cause * thought it was ok to clean them when entering the oasis... latest save was
      ...of 2 days ago (almost a thirs of act 4, no way I'd go back that far for that haughty and doubtful character).
      Plus, I for the second swornbreaker, my choice goes to someone else, because mercy is a thing.
      Sorry, such a long comment again, thanks for your videos, they make for great company on these adventurous roads

    And I'll say this, when it comes to story I prefer Fane and Loshe, with Prince and Sebille tied for third. The Red Prince story may not be as deep as Fane but has a lot of extra combat and ways of getting XP tl

    I also din't like his quest, the ending specifically.
    In my case I used another Lizard character to hatch the egg, failed the persuasion check and Sadha, the dragon hatchling become hostile along with several spawned lizard revenants.
    The thing that bothered me the most is that the Red Prince had no reaction to this whatsoever, he didn't turned hostile towards the party or had any dialogue and you have him suddenly whacking away at his potential destined empress and son. And after the quest ends he has no comment whatsoever.
    Did someone experienced something similar? because I think the quest actually may have bugged on me otherwise is probably one of the worst ending of any quest I played.

    never tried, but i think it would a very interesting way to playthrough this game to either main sebille or the red prince and have the other as a party member. i just think it would be an interesting story to watch unfold.
    saying that, sebille is one of the harder origin characters to actually get on your team and can attack you even if you aren't playing the embodiment of her pain so i guess it may be harder then just wanting them both in your party.

      That was my first playthrough, actually. I actually wound up romancing her as the Red Prince - it's honestly quite sweet playing the two softening each other up. I feel like the plot also works very well, since they effectively share an origin story villain (the Shadow Prince), from two different angles, and they both are fated to resurrect their respective races, Dragons and Elves.

    Seeing as how you played the game with all the origin characters and, I assume, your own character, how do you thing the game is best experienced? The origin characters have been a thorn in my side since the begining and I am not too happy they are also in BG3 as it always feels like I should play as them to get the most content out of the game. So how is it, do you miss out on a lot if you only experience the origin character quests from the perspective of your own MC?
    Btw just recently discovered your channel, love your lore videos, thanks a bunch for making them :)

    • @MortismalGaming
      @MortismalGaming  Před 3 lety +1

      You have to play a minimum of two times with save scumming to see every ending for all the origin characters, so with a single playthrough you're gonna miss at least two of them regardless. Personally I prefer to make a character, but the best 'experience' is probably to pick the origin character you like the most to get the unique dialogues from playing as them and everything I'd say

    • @KaiSaeren
      @KaiSaeren Před 3 lety +3

      @@MortismalGaming See this is such a stupid decision from Larian :( And now its in BG3, like they say the game is abou you as the player, BUT if you want optimal experience if you will not play your own character, that just so weird. :(
      I finished the game 4 times and saw all the endings, but I didnt play as an origin character yet because I simply dont want to releplay as someone predecidedn in a game like this, but you are simply missing out on content if you dont do it it would seem.

      @@KaiSaeren I personally don't think it's worth playing as an origin character if you don't want to. I also much prefer a custom character over playing as an origin character. The unique dialogue you miss doesn't seem worth it.
