Governance is a subjective and an opinionated topic, people have their ideas on what good governance looks like, what are the features of a functional governance setup or the principles and philosophies on which the governance should be based upon. India is also not an exception and neither was in the past, we had a vibrant culture of discussions and debates on governance, and texts like Mahabharata, Ramayan, Arthashastra, and Nitisara are some gems of it.
In this enriching talk, Shri Sanjeev Sanyal takes us through the the topic of the Indian Tradition of Thoughts on Governance that evolved from the Bronze Age to the Modern Age with the times and society in the land of Bharat.

Instead of bootlocking everything from white masters like a party used to do.
We have a lot of knowledge and that knowledge was into dusts for the last 1000 years including 70 years of Independence...

The system of Governance in ancient India flows from Karma theory and rebirth based on Karma whose four pillars are (1) truth, (2) non-violence, (3) equality, (4) love. It was very decentralized system, people mostly governing themselves as we see still in village panchayat system.

Wonderful synthesis of major points of law from the itihaasa and Arthasaastra by Shri Sanjeev Sanyal. This should be shown in high school classrooms under NEP. May I make a small suggestion here that we refer to our itihaasa as such and not as 'epics'. It is important that we preserve the vocabulary which embeds vital meaning.

So.. What you say is correct if one knows the technicalities of Literature and Language.. In this context There is a huge amount of Reinforcement that has to happen specially in Bharat because change happens within. Worried about collapse of India State, as the present scenario of Indian society, compells State to expand its economic and legal capacity throughout the state, through out the deep route of society. Now almost maximum dandaniti has been taken away - seems to shown more Liberal , more popular. Now the conception of patriotism, religious life ,purity , duty fulness, obediency - like basic qualities, are going to be weaker in human society. Bishnu ( symbol of Chatanya) and Garurh ( symbol of knowledge) are being neglected . It will collapse the whole society all on a sudden. Jai Hind.

Every country has its own culture & way of functioning. Why Bharat should be neutral? Indians r working all over India but their culture religion is not imposed on the govt to entertain. Infact Indians have their own limitations there, they have to strictly follow the rules of that Nation. Like wise here Hinduism is a prominent religion from ancient times if some of them adopt to different religions it's not our problem, for that saje the constitution can't be changed r the law can't change according to them. Better govt change the names of roads named of invaders, history books in education to be completely changed. Everything should & must be according to Hinduism in administration.

The few things I disagree on in this video is-
    1) Bharatiya Itihaas is not 7000 years old, it is about 196 Crore years old according to mula path (मूल पाठ) done before homa or yagya.
    2) Shukra Niti mentions gunpowder, guns and Cannons is not a medieval mixture in the text. All these advanced weapons then existed 9 lakh years ago during period of Shri Rama and 5500 years ago during period of Shri Krishna.
You can confirm this fact by comparing the sanskrit writing of medieval and ancient period.
And another suggestion. You spread awareness about how Marxist communist historians and western writers write a biased history so their method of History writing, so how can you blindly believe in the methods of science to carbon date and western theories. Darwin's theory of evolution was debunked during his lifetime itself and an anti-darwin or anti-evolution theory got nobel prize too. Yet we are taught about it today so that we consider ourselves not humans but animals and live in the falsehood of ourselves being evolved from apes.
So we must consider that humans came into existence as humans only and not evolve from apes. This will make our puranic chronology, ramayan and mahabharat events too not mythology but true fact based history.

@@carrad123456can you prove there's brahman you or anybody can't but it doesn't mean there is no brahman. It only depends on who you want to believe the rishis who experienced ultimate reality which is beyond intellect above intellect there are two stages chitt and ahankar and in sankhya philosophy one more as mahat and above it is brahmaleen stage. And every precedent state can't describe upper state but can only gives some hints that there is something more. And modern day historians and scientists are limited to intellect.

What about non-hindi speakers? English is more common. If we really want a national language, we should go for sanskrit.

Then what about non-sanskrit speaking people ? The debate is futile. Better to make any One Indian language as national language. I don't care even if it's bhojpuri or manipuri. But not western language as national language. English at best, should be One of the official languages

Sir, with due respect, perhaps you need to listen to some interpretations by traditional scholars about the Kaikeyi's boon, Vali vadan and the banishment of Sita...why it was that Rama acted the way he did. Then, you may change your conclusions. It is very difficult to remove the contemporary lens from our eyes.
