Blake Anderson (Workaholics, This Is Important) on TYSO - #99

- Another week, another Workaholic. Blake Anderson, "Workaholics," experiences his first ever balcony episode to discuss his career, friendships, and opinions on podcasting.
Fresh off launching his own podcast, "This is Important" with former co-stars Adam DeVine, Kyle Newacheck and Anders “Ders” Holms, Blake is also starring in Hulu’s “Woke” with TYSO favorite Lamorne Morris! He sits down to unpack career choices, his pandemic epiphany, and how effortless his podcasting experience with his friends has been.
While Rick introduces a goblin “poop button” of sorts and shows off his Magic the Gathering treasures, Blake starts to reveal some of his inner struggles with his emotions, thoughts and general disposition... Then he wonders if this is something podcast listeners come for?! Crowd Cheers!
Rick gives us another one of his renowned #FreestyleRaps and challenges Blake's intellectual opinion of himself.
The boys get raunchy with Snap & Crackle of the famed cereal brand (Rice Krispies much?) …which you have to see it to believe!

I love how Blake is blown away by the awkwardness
Of COARSE Blake is the first person to bring a tall boy on TYSO.
All is at it should be in the Universe.
of course
he brought one for rick, he got glassman bopped
'Tall boy' is a tall can of beer. At a bar, a tall glass of beer is a 'tall one' FYI You're welcome.
@@alloutofbubblegum154 stuff your condescending "your welcome's" back in the sack.
Hearing Blake's voice and outlook on life makes me think Theo Von and him would either be really funny or really depressing together.
Wow dude, 100%
Just starting the episode but I already agree.
weird that you'd say that because i thought blake was theo in the thumbnail at first
They’re both Pisces which is definitely the most sensitive sign in men lol
@@CannabisSim and women!
rick: i do jokes
blake: debateable
HA
i fuckin died
this dynamic is such a good example of how podcasts can be straight weird but somehow still entertaining. the lack of vibe here is somehow delectable and fun
name of my sex tape
Blake create your own content. You are a legend
He 100% should. It’s such an obvious route for Blake.
Rick- “I was on Erik Griffins podcast-”
Blake- “who’s that?”
Rick- “Montez from workaholics”
Blake- “oh yeaaahh he’s funny”
Weird, no? I saw Blake on eriks podcast
Time stamp?
@@TheMayleemelo It was a joke lol
Blake: “What up?”
Hot girl: “Shit.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOVe love love Blake, he gave me a big sweaty hug at a comedy tournament he judged at my highschool/ His eyes were so fucking loaded RIP and he smelled like a dispensary
Rick should start an unboxing channel where he never takes anything out of the box, I wouldn’t watch but somebody would
I wanted you to know that one year later, this comment is still funny.
Blake "makin eyes," is makin me blush.
Absolutely loved this episode but I think I felt like what I believe Rick must normally feel like, in that I couldnt tell half the time whether Blake was enjoying himself or not or maybe more so it was hard for me to tell how much blake was enjoying himself at times.
Blake was down to be shit on by an animated fucking goblin. It was the moment he started opening up and being vulnerable, after saying he hates the hollywood ego, and Rick cuts him with a fart noise and then takes over the convo? Gross.
@@AaronFree03 that was awful. Like you’re pushing him to open up and then doing a fart noise. So trashy. This guy definitely loves to hear himself talk
@@meganclark9655 I came here for Blake and I'm leaving with Blake #ThisIsImortant
@@AaronFree03 he’s the only reason I watched too 😁
@@meganclark9655 love to hear it.
Next episode I’m drinking every time Rick says “wheelhouse”.
Rick - whenever you feel your guest pulling back or feeing uneasy (around 34:05 when you’re asking about Blake connecting to playing the buffoon), instead of continuing to dig into that point to come to a resolution (ie. when you ask “what’s going on right now” which puts him on the spot and adds to the discomfort) it’s okay to just reel it back and try to transition to something else. While it may be healthy for you (and others including myself) to talk through the thought process behind things like that, it makes other people feel like they’re in the hot seat. Especially in a public setting with someone they may not be 100% comfortable with yet. It’s okay to let a point like that fizzle out instead of digging deeper and deeper.
nah
@@Tehcarp nah, Skylar is right bruvv
@@seanmartens5685 In reality there aren't heuristics for this. Fucking up and fixing things is the best way to broker strong connections with people. A good note would have been 'hey Rick do you think this question made Blake uncomfortable? Skip the judgments.
@@Tehcarp I get what you're saying, but for example, later in the show, I felt like Blake was lured in to get vulnerable when he didn't even really want to necessarily, and then gets figuratively shit on once he did speak on his depression. I imagine Rick didn't mean to do this in a fucked up way, but it seemed pretty disrespectful. He then proceeded to force his explanation of an apology onto Blake for much too long. Him working on his problems doesn't seem to serve the guest in this situation (Other times it works great though and I applaud him). Seemed like it might have been best to just keep the conversation moving in this EP.
@@Tehcarp your comment would be valid if this wasn't a perennial feature of the pod. His guests being forced into on-the-spot analyses of their commentary and comfort truly does drag every party out of element. It surely does cement a positive growing event when it's all said and done but that can't be worth it in a conversation premised on being aired to a large audience.
Yes! Another episode of camera neurosis with Rick Glassman!
Welcome to another episode of "How May I Insult You?", with Rick Glassman!
As he praised Adam every time he brought him up lol
lmao my man blake was coppin them for no reason
Funny people are afraid of insults
I really really wish Ric just let Blake talk....
Thank you! I really don't understand this pod.. coming from This is Important, well.... This is awkward. 😢 I felt bad for Blake because he just seems so confused about the process of this weird ass pod.
@@HaywoodJablomi_420 all the other tii guys did really well on here. either blake was off his game that day or he and rick are just not made for each other
Blake is so beautiful and awesome, thank you for this episode!
48:30 idk Blake I think your conservative attitude towards your job selection is inspiring. It leaves you in such a cool kind of real, and mysterious place. It’s beautiful. I love you dude
This was such a funny episode. Blake just observing Rick being Rick was fascinating!
Blake is Theo’s long lost brother
except way way brighter
@@TheSadistNat1on fudge u buddy
Gang gang
This was a great one Rick. Sometimes moments are uncomfy in reality and people can keep it moving, like you guys did. I was super excited when I saw Blake was on, and was not disappointed
Well this pod took a turn but it came back. I hope that Blake doesn’t feel bad about feeling and getting vulnerable. It still was good just more of a roller coaster than I was expecting. Blake is a top notch dude.
Less than 4 mins in, great improv scene. You know the next hour and 40 mins is going to be a good episode. Keep it up Rick.
Uncle Blazier and Auntie Rickie, cracking a tall boy for this one
Tall girl nowadays
Love this podcast. Also love that this is a way to see the workaholics boys doing more than just their podcast. The world needs more of them!! An episode of workaholics featuring Rick would be amazing
Rick’s “hot tall girl” got me good. And good flow, Blake is solid. Blake opening up was best part
Idk why there isn't more comment about how dope Blake's jackets is
Is it a Ben Davis one?
@@tavog8150 dang, you are good.
“Would you like some coffee?” “I brought beer actually” 😂
wild that Blake was literally a theater major and studied what he does and it's rare that people know that or he takes credit for it 😅 all luv, all the way 💞
New favorite episode.
Rick glassman has gotten 3 of the 4 workaholics outta pocket.
Ders where you at?
Their impression of the way we say 'Melbourne' is so spot on, I might change how I say it lmfao
lais·sez-faire
ˌlesāˈfer
a policy or attitude of letting things take their own course, without interfering.
"a laissez-faire attitude to life"
What’s the opposite?
Where you have to control every aspect of life, and demand other live up to your own standards?
@@Americansikkunt Politically the opposite of laissez faire would be authoritarianism, dictators and autocrats.
that's the only incorrect definition.
All of us not seeing the awkwardness must also be on the spectrum haha
I’m glad I’m only now seeing this ep. it’s GLORIOUS
Such a great take on podcasting. Glad you're doing this, Rick.
Love seeing others who are all about Magic, especially those we see on TV. Love Workaholics n this episode was solid
Why did that camera joke kill me?! I'm laughing so hard.... "Welcome back to another episode of cameras! today, we camera Blake!" 6:28
A rollercoaster episode and I LOVED IT.
Rick u bastard! As much as the poop on his head , during a real, serious part was funny, i badly wanted yo know what happened to blake 3 months back.
Im sorry. You went a little comma crazy.
@@aaroneusjames2342 😅
The “are your pockets tight” callback made me laugh so hard
this is the episode the editor gave up. and good on him.
Microdosing weed 😂
the dweeb is strong w this one
"When you think of love, what organ do you think of? Heart. iHeart. My heart. our heart. iHeartRadio."
I don't know what they're paying Blake to do that show, but it's definitely not enough.
Out of all your guests it’s obvious Blake is one of the best, i love the rapport.
"You can't have a rainy day with ugly people" 😂😂😂
I came for Kristen Bell 2 weeks ago and I stayed for Rick Glassman. Bingeing TYSO is an amazing experience. ❤️
Love the podcasts brother! Love the cameras, definitely like the exposure! Keep it up, awkwardly hilarious!!
This is the best episode of the year so far. Blake being weirded out by Rick was so unexpected and perfect.
Dude I don't know if its the lighting in the new apartment or its the fireplace but you look GOOD Rick. It's the fireplace.
The misnaming riff was amazing and really powered out of the stall. The stall was hilarious. It's like Dave Grohl says "bloody great episode of tyso mate".
The awkwardness paired with the Blakeness of this is just a beautiful experience for all ❤️
putting my shoes back on
That was the mailman package scan beep. Sets my dog off everytime.
Damn Glassman do be exhausting
Holy shit. Tom got PAID for this one.
Damn I love podcast and that’s why I have a wide variety of them, listening to Blake talk about chop N screwed was dope af 💯
That would be cool if they had a Magic: The Gathering podcast together. I would watch that.
Extremely funny. This one made me laugh out loud quite a few times
Nothing But Trouble is still one of my jams!
My Shoes are off!! I can't wait to listen.
Bless you, Blake. I love this podcast but idk how I feel about this one. I'm just thinking that man either has a lot of patience or just rather let things pass.
This entire episode was incredible
'Is that a tall girl?" At the end literally killed me 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I fucking love Blake! Such a genuine human being!
i think blake would really shine as the straight man
I’m watching this and drinking as well. I love it
this is a treat
Blake is GOLD!!! #THISISIMPORTANT
Lol Blake hearing "Boo Radley" is maybe the funniest thing ever
These guys are great together
There is nothing more Blake than sippin a tall boy for the whole pod lol
You are a freaking monster Rick Glassesdude, so hilarious. Much respect for all the hours of laughs you have added to my life. Props broski..... BUUUUT. Just kidding, no take backs, apologies, or give aways. Blake, Adam, Ders, you probably will never see this because I'm late to the show but I purchased every season of workaholics and re watched every episode multiple times, test me? haha much love bros. Happy 2021
This Rick playing into Betty not being real bit has me dying!
I love Blake's soundboard game in his podcast.
Yeah baby yeah ! (Austin powers)
You know he’s gonna send it!
Love it Chris Lasman. Thanks for the insight.
Thanks for the amazing episode 😁

“What up?”
“Shit...”
“What?”
I legitimately laughed
Great episode always good to see Blake
Two of my favorites in the room y’all!
“She told me to leave her alone”
“Does she tell you to do that a lot?” Lmao the way Blake said that fucked me up
Sheesh. We are lucky to have this podcast in our lives.
Blake and Theo need to link up!! Good god that would be a treat!!!
I'm so excited to bop to this. Blake with the tall boys.

I need whatever magic Rick has that allows him to acknowledge and remain positive in the face of toxicity.
"Side salads all around." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I will always support everything the workaholics/this is important crew is on until the day I die.
Also the last ep with Kyle is how I found out I was bipolar. So that was cool.
This is like 98% bits and it’s fantastic. The other 2% is Rick obsessively troubleshooting technical issues and pretending Betty exist.
1:10:30 to 1:14:20 is 👌🏽, please do this with every guest
This one is gold.
Favorite TYSO so far
Literally my fav podcast
Blake best guest ever 💕
Hey guys, I'm trying to choose the right flooring and I need choices, any ideas where I can go?
Hit up Marshall’s Rug Gallery for an expert opinion on flooring options dumbass
Well this is important! Hell yes this is the one I been waiting for! Gotta get Ders on next to round out the boys!
Edit: Please put it on Patreon!
I love the format of the Pod 🏆
I love how insecurely secure you are 😂 this ep is great
How did I discovered this a year later and not know they had a podcast
Damn! I have to pause and decide if I want to keep watching it gets so awkward. Especially at the hour mark. Do not think Blake will be back.
Yo you are not alone. Had to watch in 2 sittings
Is it that bad
Man Blake looked hurt when you cut him off with the fart.
The man was putting himself out there right after saying how closed off he's been his entire life. And then Rick cuts him off with the fart and then proceeded to take over the conversation. Blake brought me here Rick ain't keeping me.
I mean that was pretty wack
Yeah when you ask your guest to be vulnerable and open and they clearly are kind of extending an arm to you out of trust, and you fucking cut them off and spin it into a joke? That shit made me mad. Blake is way gracious though.
Yes. Too much internal directing, not enough hosting. C'MON RICK
This episode is hilarious 👍🏼👍🏼
Woooohoooo!! Bobbity Blue!!
