He’s an actor, comedian, accomplished voiceover artist, Twitch star, and fellow podcast host…it's RON FUNCHES.
Rick and Ron sit down for the first time in a long time to discus the days on the Undateable set. They open up to each other AND the audience about some past misunderstandings, confrontations and feelings. Ron does his first Snap Bit and we see the first time he met Justin Timberlake!
They make each other laugh all whilst trying to understand some key moments in their friendship. Ron recalls Rick’s behaviour while working on a TV show and how certain things bothered him, as Rick explains his frustration at the time. The boys unpack how Ron managed to grow his confidence and comedy prowess so quickly and why the Undatable tour was so memorable.
This is an episode that really unpacks friendships and the tribulations of the entertainment industry.

As a behavior therapist for children with autism, this made me so happy. You working out your feelings brought such a smile to my face and definitely close to to tears. I’d be so proud and excited if any of the kiddos I’m with end up being as independent and awesome as you!
Have recently come across your podcast through Tigerbelly and I’m so glad I did.
I know you said you work with kids but do you know anything about adults who were never diagnosed and think they may be on the spectrum? I feel like Rick before he found it out. Talked to my therapist and she gave me a few short lists with symptoms and I have over half of them (can't hold eye contact, struggle with finding my place in a conversation/interrupting, made noises as a kid and still feel the impulse to and do it sometimes, anxiety/depression, struggle with dating/never had a relationship and I'm 31, dislike of change, preoccupation with a special interest) but that's about as far as we got.
No, I’m sorry. I have never worked with the adult population. If a diagnosis is something that would bring clarity and/ or access to treatment for you I would suggest reaching out to your primary care physician so they can make the proper referrals for you. Best of luck with everything 🤍
@@Eddysamson1 I would recommend searching 'online autism test' (fun fact: most are based on Borats cousins work). The site embrace-asd has good resources and what helped me after getting diagnosed at 40 was reading accounts from people on quora, which has a big asd community.

One of the best episodes definitely, it really had me in tears (and you walking and falling out of the PJ made me laugh hysterically), love TYSO so much man.
It makes me genuinely happy to see how the subscribers keep getting more and more every Monday. Back when I started subscribing I couldn't BELIEVE how few people were following this amazing podcast, and that the numbers were rising so slowly. But these days it's like a few thousand each week. You're going to explode one of these days, Ricky!

Boy, when I clicked on this episode I expected something lighthearted and silly as one normally would with Ron but man was this one heavy. I know it's been said before but episodes like this really drive home why this pod is so good. Plenty of people talk about trauma or mental illness but rarely go beyond a superficial discussion. These kind of discussions are naturally uncomfortable but that doesn't stop Rick from trying to dig into them and I love that. It's real.
This was a great episode. Thank you for being this open and giving us a look behind the curtain into the industry. Would also love to have Ron on another time.

So basically the both of you needed a better understanding of the way one another’s minds work. Having Ricky as a friend may mean you have to put in a lil extra so he doesn’t misconceive information, and Ricky needs to understand that Ron has a completely different way of seeing things and doesn’t carry anxiety, doesn’t question hisself the way Ricky does. Both of you are great 👍🏻

Aspbergers can often present itself as someone who doesn't give a shit. When Rick pointed out his diagnosis awhile back, I completely identified with him. His quirks, how he is toward certain people... the point is that I understand Rick and all his quirks. The dude is also a genius. A goddamn genius!!
