- Our visit to Buckler's Hard, a hamlet on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the English county of Hampshire. With its Georgian cottages running down to the river, Buckler's Hard is part of the 9,000-acre Beaulieu Estate. I visit the Maritime Museum, the Shipwright's Cottage and we take a trip on the Oliver B cruise boat, down the Beaulieu River.

I live just down the road from there. The 2.5 mile walk, Beaulieu to BH, is a nice one, although the riverside boardwalk is closed at the moment to aid in the riverbank restoration. Nice video, good to see my local area pop up!

Well worth a visit wasn't it! It's special interest to me being an Ex Shipwright! I was a Gunnery Shipwright in Chatham Dockyard! We were the only Weapons Shipwright Gang in ALL the Dockyards! I worked on 'Operation Corporate' The Falklands war. My Ships went down there! I almost got a BEM for my efforts doing 12 hr shifts with a 3rd Year Apprentice on the Skua Magazine! The Motor Museum is well worth a Visit and Lord Montagu's Palace House there!
Yes, there's a lot of our naval history there. Shame you didn't get the BEM, probably well deserved.

This brought back happy memories,we used to have a boat at Chichester for twenty years so sailed to the Marina many times,our motorhome was supposed to replace our beloved boat but it never really did, although we enjoy it but in a different way.
Some amazing boats there.
We took our motorhome here and also to lymington where John said see how much it would be to go to the Isle of Wight. Whilst I was in the office,he got waved on board the ferry so I just said I better have a 5 day ticket and so we explored the Isle of Wight. Still laugh about it to this day!

I love exploring the UK, getting off onto the back roads not really caring where you are going!

Nice vlog folks. When you go over to Norfolk you aught to hire a boat for a few days. Some great little waterside pubs to stop at and it would make for some good vlogging as well !!!
Thanks, not sure we could leave our van for a few days at the campsite, but a boat trip would be good.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I think most of the companies where you actually hire boats and begin your trip from have secure parking which was free when we went on the broads.
We used go on the broads regularly in the 80's and 90's!

Wow luv this vid already and only halfway through it👍. We went to Round Hill campsite a couple of years ago, done a bit of research on the area and if I had known about Buckler's Yard I wld have included it. Looks like we'll just have to go back to the New Forest 🙂 Just wondering if you guys have been to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu? Really think you'll love that👍

Hi Bob. Last time I went to BH was in a car and there wasn’t even a car park. 😂do you think I could get there in my MH - about the same size as yours - looks a bit narrow to me. Thanks
Not sure I'd want to, narrow lanes and the car park didn't look all that motorhome friendly.

We planned to go to Northern Ireland last year, but couldn't, before the pandemic, Brexit and restrictions on taking dog food and everything else. Perhaps next year...
