Oh yeah, they're cool with it, since the drum is way outside of what they build. Jarrah wood, stave construction, wood hoops. There's nothing about this snare that is anything like what Sonor makes, other than I requested the shell be 12mm like my sigs :D I will play Sonor drums for the rest of my life. I LOVE my Sonor drums!
This is actually the first non-Sonor drum I've got in a decade!
Hey Aaron just a quick question, what kind of heads do you use the most for the batter side of your snares and toms ?
Hey man! The MOST i usually start with a G1 on top of the snare and I love G12 / G14's on my toms! But lately I've been kinda favouring a bit heavier heads on the snares, I did a straight up Genera coated on a 13x7 Maple the other day and LOVED it! :)

alright thanks for that. I haven't used single ply heads on my toms because I tend to hit quiet hard sometimes I don't want to make dents in them early on. is this fear unnecessary or would I be better off with 2-ply heads ?
Well, you can get single ply heads that are as thick as two plies! The dents are usually more from accidentally burying the stick more than anything. Pay special attention to letting the sticks rebound as much as possible and you'll avoid dents on any type of head!
Whats the brandname of that translucent damper you used on your snare?
I know Vater and Wincent both make clear little dots like the ones in this video. Since Aaron is a Vater artist I guess it'd be theirs?
Those are most likely drumdots, they look like them anyway.

The one with the big bell? That's a 18.5" Custom Shop Radia Power Bell ride with iso-holes :D

They're a custom order, but you can totally do that too, just ask your local shop and they can put that through for ya! :)
