I did the 10k around Uluru in 1997 and at that time there was a metal chain up a side of it that idiot tourists could climb. I went on an indigenous guided tour instead of desecrating Uluru. The Indigenous guide shared that Uluru, culturally, was a masculine area and it was considered incredibly disrespectful and awful to climb it, especially women. Anyhow I am glad to see either you didn't mention the chain or it has been removed. And then we toured Mtn Olgas (which you pictured but didn't talk about), which were equally incredible and culturally considered the feminine area. I will remember those days until I die. Very powerful. Wonderful that you've visited.

As often as Uluru has been filmed, I feel we rarely see the “inside”, so to speak. As you have said, you can’t film every nook and cranny because of the significance it has to the Aboriginal people, but it was so nice to see something else in addition to the exterior. Another great video bud! Keep it up. 🤙🏻

Absolutely beautiful!! What a wonderful tour. Thank-you so much, Max, for such a great tour of Uluru. Have seen pictures of it for years and have read and studied about its history and spiritual significance and, as a teacher, it was part of our Social Studies curriculum here in Alberta, Canada, so I’ve taught its history. Have never seen it from that point of view, however. Certainly never that close up! Just awesome!! Loved the drone tutorial and the introduction to the Ecoflow. Thanks for both of those. Another reason I enjoy your content. I have been watching your videos for several years, now, and really enjoy your content. I have learned so much from your van conversions, etc. etc. I think I’ll stop complaining about our gas prices, here, at a $1.80 a litre!! That is simply unbelievable! I almost choked on my tea when I saw what you are paying!! Yikes and Wow!!!! That is just terrible! Anyway, safe travels for all of you and big hugs to Occy and, of course, Alfred!! Looking forward to the next video! Take care!!😃😃😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Max- thanks for this video. I've often wondered how drone shots were made, and now I have an idea. Would love to see footage of Occy's reaction to the drone...
Northern Hemispherians please note: Australia is now in winter.
    From the internets:
Local Aboriginal people recognise five seasons:
    1. Wanitjunkupai (April/May) - Cooler weather
    2. Wari (June/July) - Cold season bringing morning frosts
    3. Piriyakutu (August/September/October) - Animals breed and food plants flower
    4. Mai Wiyaringkupai (November/December) - The hot season when food becomes scarce
    5. Itjanu (January/February/March) - Sporadic storms can roll in suddenly
Looks like it's the season of Wari right now.

Buy 4 solar rechargeable motion detector lights. Put them on motion detection mode only setting and place in four spots front and rear and side to side almost under your vehicle or all the way under if you want. All lights must be facing towards the center and not facing outward. I have been using this method for over a year now and it works better than any ultrasonic mouse trap blah blah blah that I have ever tried and if you try this you will see what I’m talking about. It scares the crap out of the mice and raccoons and any other critters that come under your van or RV When that light suddenly comes on and they don’t come back! Try this! You will not regret it and it’s a cheap remedy as they never come into your van at all at least in my case over the last year. Good luck!

I was there as part of a 2 day group tour from Alice Springs in 2002. Our guide was a brother of Ian Thorpe. It spilled rain on our arrival and there were waterfalls on all sides of The Rock. It was incredible. The guide said he had never witnessed it. Beautiful sunshine followed in the morning and got to see The Rock change through various shades and colours. It was memorable.

Wow, Max!!! That was a spectacular video. I am so impressed by your videography/editing skills. Thanks for the tutorial on how you do solo drone shots (you never did say what triggers Occy about the drone flights) ;-). I have always wondered how creators do that.
A couple of things that surprised me were how beautiful the desert was and also that it gets cold enough there that you would wake up to frost on your skylight. I am guessing that vidoes don’t due justice to the size and beauty of Uluru. As for your being a tour guide, you did a great job. It is obvious that you do a lot of research before talking about the sites that you are visiting. Super enjoyable video. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures!!!

Did you know that the Earth has its own chakras? Uluru is the Earth's Solar Plexus chakra. I inadvertently learned about the Earth's chakras after visiting Stonehenge, which is the Earth's Heart chakra. It explained a lot once I learned this, because I remember feeling so magnetically drawn to the stones. I just kept walking around them slowly, feeling so spiritually connected. It was a magical and unique experience, and totally unexpected. I always feel a powerful connection when I'm in nature, which is not so unusual, but this was such a deeply intense experience. I almost missed my bus! I was blown away upon learning that it was an energetic power centre of the Earth and that what I experienced wasn't just my imagination.
While watching this video of Uluru, I felt a strong spiritual connection to this spot, and when I looked it up on a hunch, I learned (or re-learned) that it was indeed on my Earth chakra bucket list. Sounds weird to write about this, because it's not exactly a popular topic of conversation. Stonehenge was certainly a magical place and I'm curious to experiencing the other six Earth chakras. Truthfully, I had tucked this bucket list away in the back of my mind until seeing this...life has a way of doing that.
Thank you, Max and Occy, for reconnecting me to this dream! And thank you for taking us along on your wonderful adventures! 🐶

Loved visiting Alice Springs, the Outback, and hiking around Uluru and through the Olgas and the Valley of the Winds, albeit about 20 years before you shot this video. Also spent a couple of night at the Yulara resort and, after a long day of very dusty, sweaty hiking, had to quickly shower and through on a proper dress to go to dinner at Argnuli(?) Grill. A drastic change from being dusty & covered in sunscreen, to being in a dinner dress and heels a few hours later. lol
Uluru is a must see, for sure, as is much of the Red Center and even further up in the NT. Great video and beautiful cinematography.

Ah yes mice can be a problem no matter where you live in the world or in any type of home. We had them in the wall of our bungalow. I was cleaning and pulling all the cupboards apart and fridge and stove were moved. Didn't find them until we had a gas furnace put in and they had to put a vent in the wall by the kitchen. They found 2 dead mice! ... You at Uluru reminds of the book my sister in law sent my son (in Ontario Canada) when he was 3 ( 29 years ago). He loved that book and I read it to him every night for I don't know how long! ❤️😀🇨🇦

Oh my, what an unexpected treat for me to watch you on a Saturday night from my place (in NW France). Definitely on my bucket list to do with my grown children someday. Thx for the tour, lovely photography and respect for Uluru as well as the Indigenous Australians ♡ I am originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Utah has more national parks than any other state (5). Southern Utah, Moab, Arches National Park, and other areas in Utah remind me of where you are because of the desert, petroglyphs, beautiful vistas. My late mom was a geologist and always pointed out geological features wherever we ventured, wish she could have made it to Australia and Uluru. Have a safe rest of your trip, I'll be following ♡ Cheers, Cindy

I have to say my day walking the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta is on my Best Day in My Life list. We were the first to walk through the valley that morning and all the wildlife was there and the birds, too, we even saw a falcon hunting.

    • @crumble701
      @crumble701 Před 2 lety

I agree, the Valley of the Winds at nearby Kata Tjuta (aka The Olgas) is a spiritual experience. According to a leading tour guide and writer there, Uluru is spiritually ‘dead’ as the Aborigine spirits have deserted it for Kata Tjuta. I certainly felt the spiritual difference when I walked both, without having known about it beforehand.
